In this clip, E-40 addresses his rumored beef with Mac Dre, which he says is completely false. He explained that they never had direct beef, but there were some incidents between people in their camps, including E-40's cousin making a song that featured a diss to Mac Dre. Despite the track, E-40 explained that he reached out to Mac Dre when he was in jail, and he also spoke about Mac Dre coming to his "Quarterbackin'" video set. To haer more, hit the above clip. “Mac Dre was a Iconic Bay Area Rapper. “ E40
Understatement. I remember exactly what I was doing the day after Halloween when I read on a forum that Mac Dre was murdered. I remember all of those East Coast users hating on Mac Dre on the sohh forum. I saw the forum pages go from 1 page to over 200 pages by the end of the day. By the end of the posts, nothing but respect for Mac Dre from East coast users.
RIP Mac Dre
Yep. I had just turned 18, doing a 3 month lil stretch in county jail. The new prisoners started coming in, saying he died. We would rap his songs til the day I got out. Once I hit the streets, me and my boys kept it extra lit for him. Dude was, and will forever be considered a legend to me. RIP...

Good interview. I can listen to these kinds all day. Yee.
In a Major Way is 40’s Thriller album.u can just let it play no need to skip a track all slaps go hard.
That's how I feel about the Charlie Hustle album
The click game related also slap that whole thing front 2 back
Kev Electric Highway that’s dope album also
The Hall Of Game is hard too
On god i drove home to most of that album just now.
At the end of the day 40 & Dre worked hard to put Vallejo on the map.

True..but knowing real history can drastically change people's thoughts and perception of how you view stuff..MAC did NOT fuck wit 40
Thats right pioneers ✊🏼
Dre's character was like none tho. There is so much shady shit around 40. He's a legend, but Dre really deserves more recognition. It's sad to think that had he lived, his name would more than likely be more well known than 40s. Tons of mainstream artists, even Drake, reference Dre all the time, but most listeners don't even know.
I was waiting for this 😂
Been waiting for this one!
This is just 15 minutes of "what had happened was" 😭
I been down wit 40 for many moons but this jus sound like a big explanation like he dont wanna stumble over his words. Like some type of fear from the Furly Ghost
I think he got Dre Killed
@@peteez5871 lol you’re obviously not from the bay.
Fact is 40 copied the fuck outta Dre when he died anyone who listened to Dre and was a fan before he died knows this. Problem is the fan base now are bandwagoners. I remember after Dre died they started playing thizz dance on the radio they never showed him love before his death. Dre was and is always better than 40
Oh and for 40 to say there was. No beef he dissed Dre on the federal album. Talkin about “you got me confused with Andre, I’d never rob a bank for publicity” something along those lines
I got nothing but the utmost love and respect for both Mac Dre and E-40, but E Feezy is not keeping it real the fact that he's not mentioning his Mac Dre diss on 'The Federal' and Mac Dre's E40 diss on 'On My Toes'.
He said they was just speakin up for their hoods, it was a time when the hoods were beefin so it was just some siggin shots that got fired
On my toes was not a diss
E-Phony lying 🤥
Those were record disses...that wasn't personal street beef between the two. The Hills and the Crest were going at each other at the time, those song disses were just collateral damage. The two never had a personal problem with each other.
@@thatguy7870 you were there right?

Rest easy Mac Dre. Vallejo has hella talent in the rap game. Mac Dre left an imprint that is still around today.
My personal favorite E-40 disc gots to be In A Major Way.
I cant pick just one
hell yeah. I like some of his new songs but they all sound the same. production on In A Major Way is amazing.
I loved Breaken News and Grit and Grind. A Major way and Ghetto Report Card are classics.

This is why I love E40! Hella real!

Me too but thats it dre said his punchline im not from the v but im from the same area code Fairfield. Don't know Vallejo politics. But i never herd them fonkin. From what i understand it was they're turfs beefin
U Right E40 Did Drop A Lug On Mac Dre On The Song...That Was A Diss
I do too. I kept saying that the whole interview
I was glad they at least dropped one song together off Da US Open, but the Bay Area sound definitely could’ve benefited from more Colab’s between the two labels from when Dre got out to the Hyphy movement. Should’ve, could’ve, would’ve. RIP Andre Hicks.
*Nuttin Ass Nigga* second verse! Props to Mac Dre(RIP) and E-40!
great interview...as a longtime listener and fan i'm so very glad 2 hear e-40 clear up exactly why there was no direct beef with mac dre, which inadvertently began any fan suspicion drawn when mac dre was killed and fans had to endure because of facts such as what e-40 points out here, that he had BEEN into "hypy" and had every right to take full advantage of the wave/movement...💯
...still wonder why no e-40/mac dre compilations...simply not enough time to reach that point? 🤔
This is legendary
Mac Dre had a song named on my toes where he said “mr flamboyant is a song I’ll Neva sang” so yes he did diss you.
Yup...I'm not with the click shit,I'm straight with the sick shit....40 just trying to be diplomatic cuz he dissed dre on the federal album

I born, raised and currently live in North Carolina and honestly I fell in love with the Yay’s music. My mom had Freaky Tales and I remember sneaking to listen to it, years later 3 Strikes comes out in 99’ and that’s the first time seeing E-40 and I was like “Idk who the hell he is but I like his vibe. Then 2004 (I was 14) came around and “One Night Stand/Gasoline” came on BET and I was like “Yooooooo that’s the same dude from 3 Strikes” and I was geeking. Then Fight night 2004 had “Hyphy” honestly I didnt put 2 and 2 together but I knew it was a slap. Then 06’ (16) “Tell Me When To Go” dropped and I went to Best Buy and copped that then I was ten toes deep into the Bay’s music... then I realized how much I missed out on so I YouTubing anything Hyphy and Thizzz. Vlad came out with “Ghostride The Whip” documentary and no lie when they talked about Dre I shed tears with F.A.B because I fell in love with the culture so much I thought I was apart of it, I’ve watched the “Go Dumb USA” DVDs. I was saying Yadadamean, Slumper, slappin, Yee, and all that. I’m a huge of 40, Dre, Turf, Nump, Keak, 3X’s, Yuk, Beeda Weeda, Tha Jacka (R.I.P), Young Curt (R.I.P), Uncle Short, etc.

NOW WE TALKIN!!!
Mac Dre made "shitonaman" which was about E-40. He had a line that was "pop yo colla, nah that's old." He said I got more game then a Grambling Scholar. E-40 called Dre Andrea. Dubee explained how they felt about 40 in a semi recent interview. When Dre and 40 made that song together they weren't even in the studio with eachother.
Neither one of those lines are in the song “Shit on a man” the song is only 2 minutes and 14 seconds long and Mac Dre don’t say “pop yo colla” or “grambling scholar” in that song! 🧢
