    *2:17** This scene is iconic. The fact that the Hulk was tired of Bruce controlling him from time to time and risking his life to save people made him angry. That's why this scene is a symbol of Hulk controlling him once and for all, tired of trying to prove his innocence, a mental and emotional struggle (like a split personality). Also, this scene starts with a sound of tranquility, meditative peace. Stops after a more terrifying buzz.*

    • @Cody-ps3wy

      Well banner does kind of hate himself because he felt he should have saved his mother despite him only being a child and he blames himself for her death and hulk is a representation of all of banner’s rage he felt when he saw his mother killed by his father

      If you thought that was crazy you should see the devil hulk basically a split personality also father figure meant to be used to protect Bruce and not yet tested but supposedly the strongest out of all the hulks personalities but Bruce did everything in his power to suppress that version of hulk especially if you read immortal hulk when he’s savage hulk

    • @powdereyes2210
      @powdereyes2210 2 года назад +8

      Well if that’s the case why did Bruce come back later
      If that was supposed to be a symbolic way of showing that hulk stopped the disconnection between banner and himself by literally breaking the wall and then throwing him out then how would he turn back to being human again
      It feels like the substance is there but there’s no followup, the consequence of Hulk’s choice... if he can even choose not to become a human again

      @wireboar7321 2 года назад +10

      @@powdereyes2210 I think that scene actually means how the Gama radiation and the transformation completely disrupted his life so suddenly, and hulk grabbing him easily and saying puny human meant how Bruce feels unable to go back or have any control over his life anymore

When Absorbingman tries to take his power little does he know Hulk's power is pure demonic energy that is unlimited both physical and spiritual. Bruce was has a similar second spirit that lives within him like THE BEAST inside Kevin Wendell Crumb. Abused children are weak but these entities enter their vessels as symbiotes to protect them. As long as they still have that rage they will be protected by this entity with unlimited strength, speed, agility, not phased by bullets and death in general or smarts to conquer their agenda. Just imagine if Kevin didn't have the other personalities just him and THE BEAST, he wouldn't be dead. Bruce is one of the pure ones.

      @@harmanndhiman9492 Bro read the comics to get a better understanding of the character. This film was a moderate box office but it got many things right about the Hulk. In the comics, it has been hinted that Hulk's capacity for strength is related to his rage. The madder the Hulk, the stronger he gets...This was reflected well in the 2003 version. The 2008 reboot was also a good one which showed how powerful Hulk can be. The MCU version was slightly weaker and him being afraid of Thanos is a big let down. They did not do good justice for the character to show why he is someone you shouldn't fuck around with. Hulk is a character who is in conflict with himself to understand his place in the world. Bruce suffered childhood abuse and Hulk is a personification of this repressed anger. I am not sure at which way you are seeing the character but I respect your opinion as well mate. But majority would definitely say, the original Hulk from 2003 got the aspect of Hulk very right.

      The best cgi model, the most accurate to the comics (back when comics were good), pays homage to campy comic moments and stills, a unique and fitting combination origin for both Bruce's father and Absorbing Man into 1 character, and the BRILLIANTLY done Take It All scene which actually gives you a glimpse of what would become World Breaker Hulk (leaking energy from pure power).

The ONLY reason I can possibly comprehend humans liking him more is due to being biased that he is in the MCU or they have a weird hate for Ang Lee's film being TOO much like a comic (which is a good good great thing)...

      @@hebanker3372 Wow! Anyone else who agrees that this is a deep and mature story.
      But what I don't agree with is that this edition destroyed that.
      Ang Lee takes recourse to split screen but not in the most classical sense but more related to what Richard Fleischer once knew how to do in The Boston Strangler (1968) showing various points of view of the same shot. Lee takes it even further, sometimes showing us different shots at each other in the same scene (the scene when the helicopters carry Bruce to the base is wonderful). This divided screen not only reminds us of the panels of the comic format but also intervenes on the screen modifying its morphology and showing us things like the Hulk jumping from one panel to another. But not only does he intendintend to give the film a most dramatic sense of printing a sensation of rhythm to the story, but we could find in it a metaphor for Bruce' s fragmented mind.
      Hulk is a stunning movie.

      Semi feats
      - Tore a 60 foot, 2,000 ton boulder (20,000 cubic feet of rock), which requires around 5 tons psi of force, off a mountain and threw it hundreds of meters away
      - Fought The omega level mutant Absorbing Man who's made up of 22 gigawatts of electricity, around 30,000 kelvin.. The biggest lightning is around 1.2 gigawatts.. Assuming Thor's biggest lightning is 3 times bigger, Absorbing man could defeat Hela easily.. Knock her out and get her out of Asgard and decapitate her slowly, methodically.. Surtur killed her with much less effort
      - Hulk fought that guy, in the clouds, for 200 miles(San Fran to Pear Lake in 17 seconds) and was only getting started.. Either he's too durable or too durable and too fast, depending on how you look at it
      Feats
      - The hulk dogs(Sammy, Smokey and Lily) have the same base stats as Hulk(equivalent to 17kt of tnt which is very low), which makes each stronger than Abomination or Fenris(unless you give me their numbers) and Hulk destroyed all 3 without any physical damage... Sammy took the full force of Hulk's punch to the nuts, and it completely did nothing... Hulk tore through all 3 dogs, which requires like 2,600 tons psi of force.. I don't know how Lily at half a ton wouldn't crush a car, let alone break the windshield(she bit Hulk in the nuts and he even wheezed,lol), even without her power... Shuri and Ned can break it with her bare hands.. Dramatic effect for suspense I guess
      - "David Banner to Bruce : Now, son, listen to me. I've found a cure... for me. My cells can transform, too. Absorb enormous amounts of energy, but unlike you, they're unstable. Son, I need your strength. I gave you life, now you must give it back to me! Only a million times more radiant, more powerful!"
      The strongest human punch is 1 ton psi, which makes Hulk's punch power at 1,000,000 tons psi... The heaviest mass lifted by a human is 3 tons, making him to be able to lift 3 million tons which is still low
      - "David Banner to Bruce Banner : Stop what? STOP WHAT! Think about all those men out there, in their uniforms! Barking and swallowing orders! Inflicting their petty rule over the entire globe! Think of all the harm they've done! To you, to me! To humanity! And know this, that we can make them, and their flags and their anthems and their governments disappear! In a flash, you and me!" .... Unless "In a flash" has a different meaning nowadays, he has planetary level(5B/5A) attack potency, and there is math to prove it below
      - David absorbed all the ambient energy over 3 kilometers radius(up to 5km), and temperatures went from 20 degrees to 0 degrees celcius.... That's a volume of 110 billion cubic meters, which requires over 2 teratons of tnt(6C, possibly 6A attack potency)
      - Took a nuke to the face, while he was calm and peaceful, and if you are within the blast radius,even underwater, it doesn't matter, a nuke is a nuke(111 million kelvin at the centre).. Judging by the blast range of around a mile(the green cloud was symbolic, unless you have ever seen green fire anywhere), it could be a 360kt atomic bomb, 100kt more than the one in Avengers 2012.. According to some, it was 1.5 megatons(gamma charge nukes tend to be 10 times lethal with the same blast radius of a regular nuke)... If you freezeframe the blast, you can see the lake is vaporized, but oh well, Ang Lee decided otherwise in the next scene(showing Bruce enjoying the water)..
      Still not impressed yet??
      - David Banner is 6'1 180lbs, making him 75 litres of body volume.. After absorbing 22 gigs(Around 17kt of tnt, same as 'Little Boy') of power he grew to 30 feet, making him around 400 liters and maintained the same size while absorbing all the energy more than 3 kilometer radius(2 teratons of tnt)
      "David : [absorbing Hulk's energy] Sleep, Bruce, and forget forever. Struggle no more... and give me all of your power.
      Bruce Banner : You think you can live with it? Take it! TAKE IT ALL!"
      He absorbed power, calculating by the bubble(14,000,000 cubic meters) which is 35 million times bigger, is equivalent to 300 ronnajoules of energy(70 exatons of tnt) which is 5C, and that is the much David could take.. Factor in that Bruce's rage which is entirely his fault
      Look at at this way;
      "David Banner : Take it back!! It's not stopping!! TAKE IT BAACK!!"
      Bruce was still at full power, so 70 exatons is nothing(je's a million times more powerful).. 70 yottatons of tnt(5A attack potency) is literal World Breaker Hulk, so his size makes a sense as a metaphor
      - After all that, they got nuked immediately and Hulk tanked it.. He even turned to Bruce before the blast was fully cleared...
      He never killed a single human, at least intentionally, and spanked the military and fought his dad the same day without getting any physical damage nor breaking a single sweat..

That's 70 exatons of tnt, putting him at moon buster level, and it wasn't stopping.. If we quantify his power to a million as David said, he becomes a large planet buster.. He is literally World Breaker Hulk... Your parents will be proud of you if you make this revelation to them... People love to shit on this movie a lot and even a lot of so called "marvel fans". Hulk isn't all about smashing like the audience wanted in 2003, it's more than that. This movie is the more comic accurate hulk we'll get in both portrayal and story wise. This one actually delved deep into the psychological aspects of bruce such as his childhood abuse and repressed memories as well as the effects those had on him and what it ended up creating. Bruce and Hulk are tragic characters which this movie did extremely well. We won't ever get a side this personal to Bruce ever again.. Now we get dab hulk...... Thanks MCU.
    This movie was way ahead of its time and I know 100% if this came out in modern day it would've been a breath of fresh air from the stupid marvel jokes and lack of seriousness. Of course it would have to be tweaked for todays standards but if the core idea and focus was on Bruce and his personal experiences then it would've made a touching story.

    Revisiting this scene is truly rewarding; this film perfectly captures the best aspects of the comic book Hulk.
    Follow me for a moment...
    The mirror scene, throughout the entire movie, Bruce Banner's denial of the Hulk and vice versa. However, this particular scene symbolizes the two finally coming together in harmony. Banner, in a tranquil moment while shaving, represents the civilized man, akin to figures in Greek and Roman sculptures who are depicted as clean-shaven. Conversely, the Hulk shattering the mirror signifies his acceptance of Banner and brings him into the uncivilized world.
    Although we lack a direct follow-up to this scene depicting Bruce's acceptance, let's move forward slightly, as the subsequent scene occurs during the battle where his father attempts to absorb his powers. When they utter the words, 'You think you can live with that, take it, take it all,' it's not just Banner's voice-it's the voice of both, indicating their unity.
    In the ending, we witness Bruce Banner with a beard and long hair, living in an uncivilized environment but engaging in benevolent deeds. When confronted by bad man, we observe a change in Banner; there is no longer any hesitation or fear within him regarding transforming into the Hulk. He has forsaken the civilized part of himself, embracing the barbaric aspect and the uncivilized world, yet he retains his good heart and desire to aid others.
    'You're making me angry.' The camera goes up, revealing a green world-a realm governed by nature, force, and barbarism. Here, Bruce Banner and the Hulk are finally free.
