Hey Dan - super painting! Love the dry brush technique for this sort of subject. Great detail on the prop to get the sense of movement. Hope you had a good Crimbo and here's to the New Year and a good 2024 for us all 😃😃😎😎
Thank you Paul means alot, it was difficult....been a wet on wet landscape painter but it was good to get out of the comfort zone. I hope you guys had a lovely Christmas and have a belter of a 2024 buddy, happy days 👍👍🍻
That's cracking Yvain, I bet your sister was super pleased. Hand created gifts are the best we can give. I would like to see that picture too, happy days 👍🎨
Nice one Mart, my wife's grandad built the Spitfires (and other planes) during the war. My Grandad went over during the DDay landings and luckily survived. The stories these folk could tell us Mart. Glad you like the picture buddy happy days 👍🎨
Thank you RF Richardson JR, it is a special picture. Thank you for your kind words, I wish all the best to you and yours and have a cracking new year. Happy days 👍🎨
Nice to see you having a go but....oh dear that's not a Spitfire. Suggest you refine a drawing first and transfer that to the canvas. Roundels are always difficult to get right and an accurate drawing really helps unless you someone gifted enough to be able to paint directly. Painting is a journey for most and is personal. To teach others though, you need to be good.
Thanks for the comment Ritchard, I get the impression you think I'm some kind of pro or something like that, im not. I'm a master martial artist that took up landscape painting a few years back and I enjoy it, and so do alot of people that watch me, learn while I learn and also ultimately ask me to paint for them, either a personal picture or a demonstration. For me that's the best reward. I have found over the years, people like art but are afraid of the technicalities and the traditional restraints. Once we free ourselves of these then we can truly love the past time of painting. We should enjoy life and if painting... and what ever your skill level is, if it gives you some pleasure, then job well done! And if your pleasure gives others some pleasure... well that is a truly amazing feeling. Thank you for the view, happy days 🥋🎨

Thanks for the inspiration. I enjoy your shows and tutorials. I did my version of this painting...really like it.
This is a new subject 👍. A 2 seater Spitfire often flies from the small air field just up the road. 👏👏👏😎🍀💜
They are an amazing sight, the engines sound epic tenbob 👍🎨
Another great painting! I painted a wild seascape for my sister for Christmas!

There is a lot of wrong with that painting, but I liked it, I like history. Although I prefer Stukas and Tigers and Flak 88 or V2 rockets
I take it you like planes from this time frame, there are some epic engineering master pieces from the last century. Thanks for the view 👍 🎨
You can almost hear the Rolls-Royce Griffin or Merlin engine
Yes you can it take you right into the action, cheers my friend 👍🎨

Endorse your words absolutely. It does not matter what other people think, what's important is to enjoy what you do. @@MasterTemplePaints
