After reading most of the comments here about Husky behavior I have not seen the most important negative one. We have had Siberian Huskies and know others who have them and the most important part of having one is knowing that if your house door opens they are out like a shot. Their nature is to run and boy can they. Ours were gone for 3 days one time, and came limping ;home with bloody paws. They had an adventure and were wore out and stayed laying around the house for a week. The most used comment in our house was "Shut the dang door", and most times they were already out of it and running. We got lucky each time that they made it home safe or we found them out searching for them. Other than that we loved them and their different personalities, but ours were not good as guard dogs, never barked only talked, and more than likely would be out the door before the burglars. My favorite dogs of all time.

Aren’t “Miniature” huskies called Alaskan Klee Kai? The Alaskan Klee Kai were bred down from some unusually small Siberian husky’s. Or that’s the story anyway...regardless they’ve been an official breed in Europe and the AKC has just begun a breeding program. This is a huge step to becoming an official pure bred dog and being recognized by the AKC. Sorry....but your video was shit. I am fairly certain there isn’t a “miniature husky” breed period. Not that goes by that name. There are Pomskies...but they are in the beginnings of creating breed standards. They’re a mix of husky and Pomeranian. Just FYI anyone bored enough to read this....be REALLY careful buying a Pomsky....and I would probably avoid anyone selling a “miniature husky” because they don’t really exist. I have two Pomskies that are amazing, but I did my research and new what to look for and what to avoid.
I agree! Alaskan Klee Kai is a purebred dog and Pomskies (who are often labeled as 'Miniature Huskies') are mutts/'designer breed' dogs. I don't think that mutts, for example: doodles, fluffy french bulldogs and bullies, cockapoos and, of course, POMSKIES (bred only for their size/coat/color) etc., should be bred at all*. There are enough mutts living in the shelters. *The only exception is working/sporting/hunting mixes that can outperform purebred dogs.
@@emilysayswords2900 I was really lucky with the 2 Pomskies I got. Both of them came from the same person. He was just a small scale breeder. He was very kind and knowledgeable. I also was able to get my puppies from him for less money than the local shelter wanted for a dog. My entire life I have only gotten rescues from shelters. I certainly have never wanted to spend thousands on pure bread or designer dogs when you can pick one up from a shelter. However, I have no real problem with responsible breeders who breed for temperament and health first… then to the specific breeds’ standards next, profit comes in 3rd. That of course is not the case with so many out there. Right now in the UK dogs are being stolen and used in puppy mills or resold, and this is because since the pandemic there has been a huge increase in demand for puppies. Breeders and shelters are not meeting the demands. This has made room for a real criminal element to do horrible things to these animals , like surgical procedures performed by untrained fuckers in unsanitary conditions. Its appalling. In the US shelters are killing thousands and thousands of animals a day. So I too am very much in support of finding a shelter dog if you can. It’s not always easy to find a puppy, and in my local shelter most of the dogs available are a pit bull mix of some kind. Pit bulls can be shot on site in our city limits. So for me….I had to look to other options than shelters. Was not easy, but I learned a lot along the way. My biggest beef with pet owners is not taking the commitment as seriously as they should. It’s a life long decision and it takes time and proper training to give a dog it’s best life. Oh…and your dog will shit people…it’s your dog, so expect to have to pick up every single shit that dog has for the next ten years or so….that’s the commitment.
@@billyckjelson Hello sir, I hope this finds your dogs and you well. I’m sorry for the delayed reply but I’ve just now read your comments. Quick rundown of my situation, we have a Portuguese Water Dog whos best friend was a cat. The cat passed away a little while ago and we are looking for another companion for her. I’ve always wanted a Husky but don’t have the space for a dog that large. I’m really liking the idea of a pomsky but I don’t know anything. If I go looking for one, what should I be looking for? How do I avoid a negative experience? Any other advice you have would be great. Thanks in advance.
@@bbjack5598 hey homie. Thank you for the well wishes. Gatsby and new little Valkyrie are great. Snowing where we are and they’re in heaven. I’m less stoked on the snow...but other than that I’m 6’s and 7’s. I am sorry to learn your kitty has passed on. It’s really lovely that a cat and a dog can be best friends. I know you all must miss him/her. My two kitties are always goofing around with my pups too. I’m not certain that one of my cats even realizes he’s not a dog. I also know how certain breeds do so much better with a companion. Sounds like the Portuguese Water Dog is one. Huskies definitely are extremely social and Pomskies have inherited those traits. Now that I’ve got my new pomsky pup, Valkyrie, I feel like I lost 90lbs of pure guilt. So I can empathize with your position. Now I’m no real expert in dog breeders or anything like that...what I know is just what I’ve learned along the way through necessity. But if there is any way I can help you at all I’d be happy to share what I know. The first thing I learned was patients because if you want to find a puppy from ethical breeders that you can trust it takes time. For me 2 years. And then I lucked out and got Valkyrie from the same person I got Gatsby from and basically for free. It was stars aligning. However, I put the work in. I watched tons of RUclips videos and read articles to learn as much as I could about the breed. (Learning more about huskies and Pomeranians is helpful when you run out of pomsky videos.) I won’t go into all I learned, but I’ll try and come up with some stuff I learned that seemed important to me. First....most websites online selling puppies are a scam. Avoid them. You should go to the US and UK National Pomsky organization’s website and start your search for breeders there. Since pomskies are not AKC and the breed is not even close to being able to have recognized breed standards yet. (Like height, weight, coat, etc). That isn’t to suggest there aren’t people who know what they’re doing and working towards establishing those breed standards. You just have to do your research. Ok...when you find a breeder be prepared for sticker shock because pomskies can be upwards of $5000. Which is insane. Most are between $1500-$2500. Expensive, but if you have chosen the right breeder for you that sticker price is really peace of mind because with it comes so much. (Healthy puppies, vet checks, vaccinations, socialization, and hopefully a lasting relationship with the breeder that you can utilize for future advice and support). Now this part I’m going to end with is the most important stuff to actually follow through with and do if you don’t want to get ripped off and aren’t an evil turd willing to perpetuate the puppy mill cycle to save a buck or because you didn’t follow through the last few things I’m gonna tell you about. Ok....find the National Pomsky association (or whatever it’s called...cannot recall....it’s easy to google). Make contact with that organization. Get on their mailing lists. Usually they will have a list of breeders who are members of the organization. That’s important because of the breeding standards thing. These breeders will most often be the best places to start. Ok. Here’s how you can make sure that you have found a decent and at least ethical breeder and some warning signs that you need to be aware of for bad ones. I’ll just fire off a list. This post is the longest in RUclips history. Ok. 1. Ask questions. If there is any avoidance to be specific or lack of forthcoming responses at all.... Walk away. 2. Don’t be afraid to wall away and keep looking somewhere else. 3. Most good breeders would never have considered selling puppies online sight unseen and just throw the thing on a plane to a basic stranger. Things are different because of Covid obviously, but my best advice would be to absolutely go and visit the breeder’s home. You won’t be able to have any contact with the puppies for the animals safety. That’s standard. But you will be able to see the conditions the animals are being raised in. That is so important I cannot stress it enough. Now for the guy I got my pups from...getting his first Pomsky meant flying to Texas twice. But that dude is hella rich. So for us who cannot afford it, plus covid restrictions, there is virtual tours using Zoom or FaceTime. This must be done live. Do not accept videos or pics. So plan a home visit. 4. How many breeds does this breeder work with. Any more than 2 or possibly 3 is a massive warning sign. A great way to check if for some reason they aren’t being totally truthful, or just because it’s a smart thing to check is: What type of licensing does your breeder hold. There are two types a breeder would have. One is for pets , can’t remember what it’s called, the other works the same way, but the animals are considered livestock. That is a red flag. Rules are very different between the two. So check and ask. 6. References. Get some and speak to these people via Skype, FaceTime, whatever. Don’t fall for testimonials. 5. If the breeders act in anyway irritated or unwilling to help you through this process. Especially if the any of the stuff I’ve put on this list gives them pause. Refer to 1 and 2 on the list. Ok. Hope this helps. Good luck to you. My heart goes out to you!
To the original commenter: BINGO! Sort of. These purported miniature Siberian Huskies aren't really Siberian Huskies at all! Their DNA is 50% Siberian Husky, 25% American Eskimo, 25% mixed breed, and 100% snake oil.

I have a Siberian Husky and I call bullshit on this "breed." How do you get a dog small? You breed runts which often have medical issues. And how can trying to adapt a dog like this to people be a good idea? People should adapt to the dog. I bet the vast majority who get these, and pay BIG money from shitty breeders for them, live in apartments or small houses in warm weather areas. And there's like no chance they're going to give them the kind of exercise a Husky needs. If you want a Husky, and live in the cold, then get a Husky and be prepared for how they roll and what they need. They're not like other dogs. Otherwise, get a freaking lap dog and love the hell out of it. Mini Huskies are cruel.

Cyberian
*TAKE THIS VIDEO DOWN!!!* Complete BS. A Miniature Husky does not exist. It's imaginary. Fiction. Period, end of story. Is this guy in cahoots with those puppy mill scam artists, or what? What's next, his RUclips video about the best way to buy a unicorn?
Llamar Husky a esos perros es una falta de respeto a los Husky...
