I tried this with NES shooting games, using FCEUmm, Nestopia, and even Mesen. But it doesn't seem to work. I am on Batocera v40. I tried with Trick Shooting, which simply does not recognise the gamepad controller, and even with Duck Hunt, which again did not work. I see no crosshair and neither do my A and B buttons work. When nothing worked, I even tried changing ports, with Port 1 being gamepad and Port 2 Zapper, and various other such combinations. I am running it on Rpi 4. Can't show my sad face here bleh!
I tried following your method to setup pad2key mapping on my steam deck Batocera. However, with Virtua Cop 2, I can only map the left mouse button to the A-button. It doesn't recognize the mouse-to-leftanalog and right mouse button to B-button mappings. Were you able to to configure pad2key to work with VCop and Vcop2?
No. However, one of the developers is working on a solution for Batocera 35. He's working on something that is going to make it a breeze to setup and with much better accuracy than the current WiiMote setup. I will be showcasing this soon.
Great news! With Batocera 35, there will be official support for Siden, AE, and Aimtrak. Support has already been added to Aimtrak with the Batocera Beta 35. Siden is next, and then finally AE since the last one is more complicated. In the end, it will be easier to use these lightguns in Batocera versus Windows.
Can anyone help me in installing batocera cause I tried but the usb didn't boot I tried another os too like lakka and more but no one worked I used Rufus ether but they also didn't work
Are you using a flash drive if so what size is the usb flash drive? Is it a genuine brand? Not a cheap large capacity drive bought on ebay for eg? If so these are usually fake and you will just have corrupt data. Also, did you enter your PC's bios boot screen and make sure that the PC you are using for Batocera boots from the USB? Whether it be a flash drive, micro SD card to portable HDD that you have flashed Batocera on.
Yes. I just tried it out. Sega Model 2 games working with the same trick. Talked to Nicolas and he said that nothing was done to Batocera to affect the lightgun games. He even said that built-in support was coming for Batocera 35. Try setting it to default setting and then back to mouse. Rename the pad2key temporarily while setting it to default setting.
@@BatoceraNation Nah, it still doesn't work unfortunately. Odd. Could you let me know if your controller setting within Retroarch is on Zapper for this game or just on Auto?
@@BatoceraNationyes sir, when i play the game, its force close back to game menu list. I try to copy the game file to the folder roms(not use create link), when i played, its same force close. Same to all emulator. So, i decided to re-install batocera v34. Thankful, its worked, i can play the game again. Thanks a lot for your respon sir. ♥️
Hey thanks for the shout out. Great video.
Thank you again for a great video!
Now just twiddling thumbs and waiting with hot anticipation for the v34 video... I'm sure it's coming 😁
Can you use this technique to remap your controller for Model 3 since it does not allow you by default to map buttons?
I used it for one of the games so it might work for the other games as well.
Batocera gets better and better.
very nice video i would like to do the same with the games that have to be played with a the weel its there any metod to do that?

amazing can we use keyboard and mouse in batocera ? :)
Gun setting is not listed in Star Wars : /
Amazing video!!! Can you use the pad to keys file in this way, in other cores ( ps2, Xbox, n64, etc)?. Thanks.
Any system that lets you use a mouse should work with this method.

So is there a way to play the games using an actual light gun, like an aim track or an AE Lightgun in Batocera?
