Lure Making - Viral Resin Minnow

- In this Christmas Special lure making tutorial, I decided to recreate my most viewed lure, the sinking resin minnow :) In the current version 2.0 there are few changes to the wire and weight placement, I also decided to go with slightly more fun colour pattern ;) enjoy the build :)

First time i made a resin lure was in 2021. The idea came when i saw the resin i had i used for coating and the price was pretty ok for the number of lures. Plus it is super hard plus it is waterproof itself. Unless you put foils etc on top,it doesn t need coating. This summer i think i reached the pick of it, i designed one as good as i could with micro tools from wood,then made the mold of it,then made the resin one,but i put reflecning foils,glow in the dark paints etc on the incide, i even make them minnows lures,with lips for extra movement. Tested and it worked,meaning it catches fish! The thing is it will most likely always be fast sinking due to the high weight of the resin. I f thought of some ways to make it lighter,without microspheres, but will try in 2024.

🙂 I normally split in two cause YT algorithm doesn't like too long videos and I prefer to put two shorter parts including all tricks, than try to compress them too much during editing 😉

I made a few for myself along the years, haven't loose even one 😉 twitching close to the surface is the best method for Asp and salt water fish, although pearch bites nicely on the fall (the lure flatters) 🎣

Any idea on how to make a identical lure model
Both sides i mean, used for mold casting?
That's how I made this one, simple carving and eyeballing for the symmetry:

It's obviously not perfectly symmetrical, but close enough to swim well, and fish obviously doesn't care if for example one eye will be slightly crooked 😉

Cześć. Pisze do Ciebie w sprawie lakierów uv. Masz doświadczenie wiec pewnie pomożesz. Pomalowałem lipowego małego woblerka farbami akrylowymi Valejo Air. Nałożyłem lakier Semilac Base nad Top 2 in 1 i pod lampe. Lakier nawet po ok 10 minutach jest lepka. Używałem jej do klejenia główek na hakach muchowych i było git. Co jest nie tak? Pomóż. Pozdrawiam
Ja mam doświadczenie, jedynie z lakierem tip coat no wipe (który działa pod ten efekt lustra) i lakierem matowym (który nie jest "no wipe" czyli bez wytarcia ) więc ten jest w dotyku lepki nawet po godzinie pod lampą, bo trzeba go przetrzeć zmywaczem do paznokci, by stracił lepkość, więc może spróbuj tak też ze swoim 😉
A bit light, otherwise a perfect seatrout lure on the coast.
You could easily fit 7g tungsten in the belly, then the total weight would rise to around 10g 😉 also for seatrout I would make it inline running 😉 unfortunately I have 450km to the closest coast 😖
This epoxy mixer is a homade or where you get it.
It's just a disco ball electric rotor, with plastic part shot stick to it and another plastic party shot inserted to the first one 😉 cheap and easy to make 👍
