Did you see the original parody video made by Mike, and then the response video where Jesse WENT to US to teach Mike a kata? It was the best example of "love your enemies" I've ever seen, and now they've basically become friends, and martial arts RUclipsrs do a bunch of videos together. It's like the Avengers

I can't help but imagine how much of a monster Mike would be if he and Seth switched bodies.
I think the reason he is a monster is because of the cards he was dealt if your small you have to be strong

@@ethancarr8942 yeah, being a smaller guy myself, and having trained with bigger guys, it's interesting seeing it from the other side. Like, they actually have to put real care and effort into NOT hurting other people just by accident, whereas for me it took years of hard work and training to feel formidable at all.
When you mentioned weapons for the next one, Jesse Enkamp went from being one of the least likely to win to one of my favourites. So when he showed up that was perfect

Man sold out Rokas, used Seth as bait, failed to make it to the end in this, then he goes on to do the same thing with his own team in the zombie apocalypse, plus he also killed an innocent girl for no reason.
Man knows how to fight and dodge sexual harassment like a champ, but his cooperative skills got him lacking.

I know right, the in-depth look at moments from the self defence test and the feelings told by everyone involved at the time of what's going on has been really fascinating.
Jesse!!!!! Wasn't expecting that. Did you know that Okinawa is the birthplace of karate?
This whole thing was so legendary, and very informative for everyone about the realities of fighting for survival. Rokas really knocked it out of the park, above and beyond what i ever thought it could be.
Despite the issues of season 1, it was incredibly entertaining and I'm looming forward to a more polished season 2 and Jesse's participation

Agreed. Matt won that altercation on the ladder. They should have let him go from there to continue his exfil. I don’t think the creators of the games thought that part through. Although, they did a good job at creating a great and one of kind training environment.
Question, what would it take to win Hide and to stab? Like Mike said, they got skills and strategy. In the home stretch, great speed and stamina was needed to win.
Either that or to be so sneaky that the chasers don’t notice you coming out
I don't think there was a chance any of them were going to outdo the speed and stamina of a healthy young rugby player, unfortunately. I liked the show a lot, and the events were very interesting, but this one was stacked way too heavily against them, as evidenced by the fact that not one contestant scored a single point.

Everyone was excellent in this episode, but Matt was the MVP from an audience perspective. If I was DM of this game he would've gotten ahead on that one
Armchair violence should be on season two as well. Then season three can be like a real world road rules challenge with season 1 peeps as red team, season 2 as blue team, against eachother and then a battle royal for the singular winner after the team victor is decided.

@hard2hurt Will you two coach the karate nerd for season 2? I would love to see the result of that. If you do, please document it even if you only share some after the season has gone down. It would be really interesting to send someone in specifically trained for the event, and you and Seth are in a unique position there. Both of you surprised me a couple of times. Nice upside down fighting btw, that may have been the most ninja thing in the whole challenge. :D

Mike's strategy in this session was one of the highlights of the season. Hella brilliant, even more so now that we know the backstory. I think this challenge showed how street knowledge can play into a situation, and obviously thats Mike's specialty. Def shoulda gave him points for that.
I'm so excited to see Jesse take on the challenge. I feel like he's the secret weapon, him his brother and Shane from fight tips.
What a cool challenge would love to see Jesse Enkamp in the next one!
Loved your commentary, and I have to agree with Seth that Mike is the true agent of chaos. The end of this video proves it.
I found it strange that nobody decided to just gang up on attackers, since they need to split up to search and people hiding can jump them.
that was the second's team original plan they just all split up
most logical way, on paper. problem is, handling people, making them commit to a team plan isn't really an easy task in the face of pressure. people instinctively will follow their impulse and any plans would be thrown out of paper. second team is the perfect example. Mike and Seth knows each other and trust each other hence their plan work
The Jesse Enkamp cameos are too good
That whole series was wildly entertaining and informative... loved every minute. Although all of you are great martial artists in your own way, Seth and Mike, by far were the most fun to watch...

I think you would make a good actor.
The “you can’t run” only works in this scenario cause you can only leave one side of the building the attackers know which car is yours and you have to go to the car to escape. If you could exit different sides of the building, and/or just escape the property and/or you had several cars in a lot that the attackers didn’t know which one was yours. Or basically they made the situation vaguely realistic you’d be able to run.
You guys need to cool it with these Avenger-style cameos, my excitement for Season 2 is already at a fever pitch. I cheered out loud in a cafe and now people are looking at me.
Loved getting the inside baseball of this episode, poor Seth’s reactions to said inside baseball, and the surprise guest

I don't know if you will see this Mike, but in the Zombie challenge, the zombies were acting differently with you. they were quiet and used intelligence. That is how it appeared to me in the video. I would love to hear if you think the roll players were acting with more wits for your team than the other team.
Also, I thought there should have been points earned for how close you got to the tree or how many minutes you survived for episode 3. some of the challenges seemed to be all or nothing with the points.

As a Parkour guy who does focus on simplifying and utilizing it for self defence, not competitions or uploading videos to social media, Parkour would have been viable and useful in this challenge.
Mike said he just didn't have the gas at one point, managing energy output/conservation in fighting (like Gabriel Varga mentions in a previous video) is helpful, but being able to do the same for fleeing is incredibly useful. I train in sprinting and short distance running up to 5km for speed, with a great focus on running technique and form as well as effective functional breathing training, over just lifting more weight for bigger muscles.
I really would like to see a pro Parkour athlete who is cross-trained in self defence / fighting martial arts in USDC if there's a S3 after S2.
Additionally, you don't want a Parkour athlete that can go from sprinting/maximal running into transferring that momentum into an effective strike. Tony Jaa in Onk Bak with the double knee drop, and "I'm About to End This Man's Whole Career" comes to mind.

I thought Mike played this about as well as one could. It was a real shame that after all the misdirection it came down to just a foot race because of the guy playing free safety outside. The scoring needed to be more nuanced.

Mike, at 11:49 it looks to me like you are pulling your kick so as to not break Adrian's ribs. I'm no expert on a flying side kick but my hunch is that if you didn't pull that kick you would've reached your goal. As in sparring when someone kicks your head softly you're not supposed to grapple their leg maybe he should've reacted more to the kick that you gave him.
