Nice job!. The real problem was the Architect who designed that mess. That area will still leak due to snow but you can only do so much. That wall just needs extended all the way into the roof.
They come 10 feet long you can buy them at Lowe’s in 10 foot sections or Home Depot and you can use a 10 foot section if you want to you have to put it at the angle
That is a good easy quick fix, another way is you could remove 3 rows on the pitch and remove the shingles on the low pitch, insert some ice and shield so it’s going up the wall a few inches and up the steeper pitch about 2 feet, then re install the shingles and it is leak free, that is a dead spot and with the right flashing and right membrane you can stop the leak, when shingling the lower slope I would use black jack too seal the shingles, there is not enough room for nails there, water will be too it plus the shingles on the steeper side will hold them in as well.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair wettest winter, spring we have had in 20 yrs been doing patchwork for friends, nice diverter share... thanks kindly.,. From a old metal bender...😸🙏✌️☝️🤔
THE water that's coming off the rain diverter will be concentrated down the same spot on three shingles and cause them to wear prematurely over time and start a leak in the home.
Interesting thanks for the tip. I think you just need to make sure that it is always clean from debris behind it. As long as the water is flowing easily and freely it should work pretty good. You definitely need to have a slant on the diverter to keep water flowing.
Thanks for sharing this! I noticed (@6:05) he ran two horizontal beads of caulk/sealer under the last shingle after nailing. Would it be beneficial to add and two vertical runs of caulk to make it a 'square' around the the nail? Or is the caulk/sealer simply used for holding the shingle down; not for waterproofing the nail head?
Another off topic question, I apologize......when dealing with the marriage line and subfloor, I'm assuming it's ok to install a full sheet of new subfloor over it? My mobile home will never be "mobile" again. Lol! That being said, currently, there is a plastic filler piece between the two sides of the subfloor. I only ask because I haven't seen any of your videos addressing this subject. Granted, I haven't watched all your videos as there's a lot. I just wanted to ask before I did anything I might regret. Thanks again so much! Also, do you have a PO box address?
You can make them but if you go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and you ask them for a rain diverter it will be back in the shingle department where the shingles are sold. It will be Metal and look pretty much just like the one I used you could also show them a picture of it and they will be able to find it for you easily. You can cut it into any length you want.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair I have a roll of aluminum flashing I'll just cut and bend. I have a chimney on the side of a gambrel that is leaking. Needs diversion.
Only idiots would install shingles in that corner pocket. Don't bother with the diverted. Remove the siding on the inside area install a new plywood triangle and raise the backside 16". Install a copper flashing pan with soldered back corners and run it 4" past the bottom point. Bend wall side 6" up,back wall 6" and shingle slope side 12". Cover strip the copper with ice shield. You'll never have another problem.
Off-topic question....when installing blocking for new subfloor on a 2x6 joist, will using a 2x4 be sufficient, or should a 2x6 only be installed ? I only ask because I've ran out of 2x6s . If it's ok it will save me a trip .
Please like everyone! Guys with there knowledge and honesty are a dying breed!!! Plz appreciate it!
I appreciate you, Ronald
Thank you so much you don’t even know how much that means to me
If Drew and Crew were near to me, I would never think of hiring anyone else again ever. Real Americans there - proud of you guys ❤
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words
❤❤❤thanks!!! I needed to know how to stop 🛑 that rain flow turning into much. Thanks 🙏
You are so welcome
I definitely need this on my roof on the unguttered portion of my house
Easy to do
Great instructional video thanks
Glad to help

You are right!
Always love the roof stuff!
Thank you Ronald
Nice pitch- can you double up on those things or is it better to do two different levels to make a wider diversion

Great solution. Thank you!!
You're welcome! Rain diverter’s are amazing for making water go where you want it to instead of where you don’t
Could you just use construction adhesive instead of creasing all of the shingles when you lift them up and nail
Yes

Good option for sure
👍
There is NO such thing as a stupid question but there’s LOTS of different types of caulks.
What kind of caulk do you use?
Lexell. Buy it at Lowes
Nice job.
Thank you my friend
Roofing covers everything 😸✌️☝️💪🎯
Yes we do

Never seen that before
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair it happens over time. It takes a few years.

Great point! But no need to just to resacure the shingle
Love your vids, Mr. Drew.. Wouldn't a series of diverter work better (in case it rains really hard)?
That’s a good idea. If it doesn’t take care of the problem we will be back. Thanks for the visit

Yes go over it this is a double wide and we went through the marriage wall

Seamless gutters are best

Looks like a dead area. Should there be a cricket or rolled roofing in that area?
I think so
bad house design....when will people use common sense
I agree 100 percent
Did not know there was something like that
O yes and it’s used a lot
would you be able to use these where it snows?
I don’t think so because it would hold snow behind it and that might cause a leak
To me A person Designing a House Like that was overpaid.
I am green should be a cricket back there
