It’s really invasive and creepy! Illegals invading the United States and other countries have more anonymity and privacy than a country’s legal citizens do!
I just renewed my passport online. I was shocked to get it in the mail in less than two weeks. I had a professional photographer take my picture digitally. I recommend it as it saved me time and trouble.
Not that long (20 years) ago in Canada you were getting the passport the same day if you paid extra :) and in 2-3 days if you did not. It is remarkable how we started considering weeks of delay normal.
In Aug my flight with air Canada was delayed just over 6 hours. I applied online for the compensation and got the e-transfer in just under 3 weeks. Crazy considering my whole flight and hotel package to las Vegas was $568 total. I got $700 in compensation so my trip was free lol.
Prior to another family trip flight I binge watched you while I was packing and getting ready at different times for a few days. It was motivational, psyched me up, and I must say I learned quite a bit that made a difference!
I’m curious how they will enforce the “families must sit together” rule… Will single passengers be forced to change seats after purchase? If a single person pays for seat selection and is moved to accommodate a family, do they get the seat selection fee back?
That was my thought too. Too many Click Bate stories on social media about someone paying for a specific seat, then asked to move for a family that booked last minute wanting the 1st person's seat.
I don’t understand why would anyone sit their family separated. Every time we travel as a family, we make sure to select the seats in advance next to each other.
The lack of no longer getting your passport stamped is a little disappointing but, it also prevents you from not having enough empty pages and being refused entry.
If you want stamps and the experience of running out of pages, just visit Palau as often as is legally possible. On entry, all tourists get the Palau Pledge stamped on an entire page and then you get to do something that happens nowhere else, the border guard orders you to sign and date your acceptance of the pledge (yes its the one time you can legally write in your passport). This happens every time as the pledge is unique to each entry. Or, you can just spend a lot of time and money getting visas to countries and filling the pages that way.

Real ID is not only for air travel, it is also needed to get into various federal buildings. Real ID is almost the equivalent of a passport overseas, but needed in all 50 states by U.S. citizens & legal residents.
Umm...no. 1. IT'S SOCIAL SECURITY, NOT SOCIAL INSURANCE. 2. A Real ID also requires proof of previous names used. This can be complicated for older women who have a maiden name, a previous married name, and are divorced or widowed then remarried.
In Canada it’s referred to as a SIN or Social Insurance Number, and is 9 digits long. USA refers to a SSN or Social Security Number and is also 9 digits long….same purpose, different names.
Thank you for all the information. It's good to know for when we travel next year to the USA. Over here in the Netherlands you get the refund of your ticket automatically after 5 hours delay. It's fully paid, for even hotel stay and car rental.
Another way to tell if you have a Real ID is to hold it up to the light. You'll see a small pin hole "picture" of your state mascot and outline of your state.

Hi 👋, Megan! I’m Andrew. You’ve replied to many of my previous comments on previous videos. My personal opinion on the whole fingerprint thing with the European Union is that it seems big brothery to me. Read the George Orwell book 1984 to figure out what I mean. How would that DoT rule work if say I book travel with a certificate from an airline in the new year … but the certificate has to be used by Christmas? For instance … I can use the certificate for travel after Christmas. But I have to spend it by Christmas. I hope that makes sense.
Definitely going to miss the stamping of the pages in the passport. It’s a paper trail that could be important in certain situations I feel. All the electronic stuff can malfunction at times.
I just did the USA renewal online in mid November and yes you must meet each and every one of those criteria. Also it says 4-6 weeks but it only took me 3 weeks from the day they say have your application not the day that you actually submit the application. it was only 2 days after i submitted my application.

I just did the online passport renewal. It was actually quite easy, and took about 4 weeks. The most difficult part was the photo, there are actually great apps. Cost was equivalent as taking it at your local photo center, and I didn’t have to go to the center. 🙂
Great to hear from someone who has used the online renewal! Thanks for sharing the experience.
Thanks! Lots of your tips are actually very usefull and help me on my trips!
WAY TOO INVASIVE
You don’t have to come to our European countries. You can always try Russia. 🤣
@@NicoVeenkamp Spain is really getting bad for lots of intrusive questions and documents to fill out also. I’m done with Europe. South Asia, and southeast Asia for me from now on. Apparently Europe does not need as much tourism anymore.
🙏🏼 ✈️ 🌴 🌴 🌴 🙂
@ That is true, but this is only happening in Spain, Europe is much bigger than Spain.
Why is this any more invasive than the US ESTA visa waiver system?
@jerry2357 I wasn't making any comparison. I don't want 4 of my fingerprints in some database. Data is regularly hacked.
Megan, fyi. At 5:45 there's an error. No such thing as 'Social Insurance Number'.
I believe you meant, SSN (Social Security Number).
And now US citizens get that ESTA experience all for themselves
ETIAS is valid for 3 years or until the travel document you used in your application expires
new passport = new Etias application
I used the online US Passport renewal this last September and received my new passport in a week!
Very convenient😊.
Great to hear! Hope you it take you on new adventures!
Sounds like digital tracking to me……fingerprint and picture…..
💯%
Thanks for all the good information and for Ollie's restful prescence.
Hallelujah!!! I’m favored and blessed with $60,000 every week! Now I can afford anything and also support the work of God and the church.
Oh really? Tell me more!
This is what Melissa Jonas Richard does, she has changed my life.
After raising up to 60k trading with her, I bought a new house and car here in the US and also paid for my son’s (Oscar) surgery. Glory to God.shalom.
I know Melissa Jonas Richard, and I have also had success...
Absolutely! I have heard stories of people who started with little or no knowledge but managed to emerge victorious thanks to Melissa Jonas Richard.
My son just renewed his Passport using the new online tool - he got it within a week from filing!
Great! I have been hearing it is very efficient!
AAA Offices take passport photos for a very reasonable fee!
Good to know! Thanks for the visit!
So do Walgreens drug stores.
So do UPS store locations
Real ID is not only for air travel, it is also needed to get into various federal buildings. Real ID is almost the equivalent of a passport overseas, but needed in all 50 states by U.S. citizens & legal residents.
You sound like Barbara Walters 😊
Maybe she’s hearing impaired? That might explain the accent.
Thank you for the updates Megan.
So you must come as illegal. In this case you need nothing😂
And what abound silent-seekers, do they have also foto taken ?
Umm...no. 1. IT'S SOCIAL SECURITY, NOT SOCIAL INSURANCE. 2. A Real ID also requires proof of previous names used. This can be complicated for older women who have a maiden name, a previous married name, and are divorced or widowed then remarried.
I didn’t have to provide proof of my maiden name to get a Real ID drivers license. That may be a state thing.
In Canada it’s referred to as a SIN or Social Insurance Number, and is 9 digits long. USA refers to a SSN or Social Security Number and is also 9 digits long….same purpose, different names.
No it doesn't. It's no more difficult to obtain than your passport.
your pup looks so relaxed , so safe. ? PPT - do you personally use an apple air tag in your bags ? thanks ~ JDS/CT
My online renewal took 11 days. I applied the day before Thanksgiving. I could not believe my eyes when I looked in the mailbox.
Wow, that’s great service especially considering it was through a holiday time!
Our old passport no longer valid? Even though not yet expired?
Excellent information!
Thanks, Loretta! Glad you think so!
I Appreciate all your news and updates when it comes to traveling, Merry Christmas
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas to you as well!
As always, very pertinent information. Merci.
Thank you for all the information. It's good to know for when we travel next year to the USA. Over here in the Netherlands you get the refund of your ticket automatically after 5 hours delay. It's fully paid, for even hotel stay and car rental.
Wow, that’s great! Happy travels!
Another way to tell if you have a Real ID is to hold it up to the light. You'll see a small pin hole "picture" of your state mascot and outline of your state.
Thank you Megan. I love all your info videos for travel. Keeping us up-to-date with changes and great tips also. Love seeing Ollie as well. 😃 I’m 73 years old now with a quadruple bypass, but still love to travel one small carry on convertible backpack and a personal item. As long as I can carry them….I go.
Best wishes to you both and your family for the Christmas/Hanukkah season and New Years. Have safe flights and happy travels. 👏🏼 👍🏼 ✈️ 🌴 🌴 🌴🌺 😃
wish they had this when I renewed my passport, I really love your travel tips!
Next time! Thanks and happy travel, Sandy!
Love all your tips, thanks for getting all this information out there so we feel more knowledgeable :)
You are so welcome! Safe travels, Cindy!
Wow. Good info, thank you. I'm sure Airlines will find a way to delay refunds, they always do. Safe travels!
I would miss stamps in passport but at the same time it might speed traveling. Thank you for informative video🎄
You’re welcome, Ivana! Happy travels!
It is called Shengen Zone and not Shenjen Zone - as incorrectly stated in the video
My pronunciation was definitely off on that but the information is correct. Thanks for watching!
U.K. Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) goes into effect in January before the July 2025 E.U. requirements.
Definitely going to miss the stamping of the pages in the passport. It’s a paper trail that could be important in certain situations I feel.
All the electronic stuff can malfunction at times.
All of those movies like ‘1984’ start to make sense. Plus she keeps saying ‘ESS’ and it’s actually ‘EES’. HILARIOUS.
I just did the USA renewal online in mid November and yes you must meet each and every one of those criteria. Also it says 4-6 weeks but it only took me 3 weeks from the day they say have your application not the day that you actually submit the application. it was only 2 days after i submitted my application.
Can you do a video on flying on the discount airlines such as Breeze?
Thank you for the new information
My pleasure, Cristina!
