  • Today I have the opportunity to try out the Switch Pro by ISLE. It’s a 2 in 1 - Inflatable Kayak & Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP). The marketing company for ISLE reached out to me and offered to let me sample the Switch Pro. Nothing was required of me for getting this sample kayak. All thoughts are truly my experience!

I have watched all of your kayak content! I just love your videos. I do have a question. You seem to kayak in lots of different bodies of water. I drive around the country doing bike rides in places I’ve never been. And I seem to gravitate towards trails that are near water. So I thought it would be fun to add kayaking to my trips. But that means spending four or five weeks on the road so I was curious about how to make sure my boat doesn’t contaminate any bodies of water.
How do you disinfect your kayaks/SUP after your paddle? I did see in one of your videos that you use a portable sprayer and spray your boat off after you get out of the water. Do you do that every time you kayak (if I remember correctly in that video you mentioned that you do not spray it every time you get out of the water). What do you do to disinfect for your next paddle? Thanks. Thanks and keep the great content coming!

After every paddle I rinse off the boat at home with a hose and scrub it with a microfiber cloth to get it clean. I also make sure it is fully dry before storing it again, usually leave it together overnight in the garage.

Great review. Seems to be fun. How does it compare speed/effort wise to an Oru?

It's a fun boat. It's slower than an Oru which makes since based on it's shape. It takes more effort to inflate and deflate in my opinion. Hard to get it back in the bag, the Oru fits back perfectly into a box every time. It really depends on the type of paddling you want to do. This gives you more options than an Oru, but for longer more adventurous paddles I would go Oru.

@@smkauthor Awesome! Thanks a lot. This is helpful. I already have a similar SUP/Kajak combo and did small tours up to 1.5h with it. I want to figure out if a Oru or a Tucktec are a significant enough upgrade and makes day trips especially when it gets a bit colder more fun. So being able to do longer distances, faster setup and easier to bring stuff along.

I think it would be an upgrade and make it more fun for longer trips. I have not tried the Tucktec (would love to) but I know the Oru would be a great boat!
