Hmm, it's not exactly the same, 아무튼 [amuteun] really means "Anyways" like when you want to change the subject. You would use "by the way" more in situations where you suddenly think of something (as in for example "Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you"), for which more appropriate words in Korean would be for example 아, 맞다 [a, majda] or 근데 [geunde]. Hope that helps! 🙂
