Also, I totally agree about the pizzeria on day 1 - so much more luxurious than the buffet - I don’t think everyone realised it’s included at first!

I would highly recommend Motion Eze for sea sickness too. Goes behind the ears and smells nice too.

Never knew about the "ding-dong" on the elevators! It must be something on the newest ships. I've been on a bunch of Princess cruises and never noticed it. Will be on Sky in October, so I will make use of it! Thanks David! Hope the app works better though.....

The lifts generally should make those two different sounds even on land. This is so those who are visually impaired know which direction the lift is travelling.

Thanks David, tip 2 caught our eye 🤪🍾. May i ask the percentage of DJ’s wearer’s? We’re trying Sky in September but are becoming a little concerned over “C” reports on recent sailings. Will buy some “hooks” for our Azamara next Sunday as not the biggest staterooms, great find, thank you 🙏. All the best 👍

Actually on this sailing there was a huge uptake of DJ’s and formal gear. It was really nice to see and an America couple said they were delighted to see all the Brits in the DJ’s!
Don’t let the ‘C’ reports concern you too much. It will be on every sailing in my opinion, they can’t stop it. Just be mindful.
The hooks are very handy, well worth getting.

Great tips! We go on Regal Princess next month. This is our first cruise on Princess! We don't always want to go to the dining room, particularly if we have been on a excursion so can you order an evening meal to be delivered to your stateroom?
Hi Alby, yes you can order room service. The menu is great though, things like club sandwich, burgers and hot dogs.
You can’t order what’s being served in the restaurant to your room though.
My advice for a lazy evening is go to the buffet, or the poolside Grill.

Yes, I think it’s worth going for the package, even if you are not a big drinker. I like to know it’s all taken care of, so no nasty surprise with the bill!!
I don’t always opt for a package, but when I do, I’ve found it’s a better cruise!

David, what other clever methods are there for carrying your medallion when wearing it by the neck lanyard just isn't practical? Embarking on the Sapphire Princess in 14 days, your fabulous informative video was key to my vacation prep. Thank you for your service!
Hello Lynn and thanks for the kind comments. I hope you’ll have a great time on the Sapphire Princess. I sailed on her myself many years ago around the California coast… had a great time.
So for the medallion, if you don’t want to wear it around your neck, you can buy a wrist strap for it and have it like a watch. They are about $10-$20 onboard.
If you don’t think the medallion is quite right for you, you can go to guest services and ask for a regular ‘old school’ cruise card!!

Some great tips. We were on Sky earlier in the year - would love to hear if you have any tips how to get a coffee in the morning as the queues in the buffet and International Cafe were bonkers!

Room service we always get a pot of coffee and fresh fruit in the morning,for when we are getting ready then we head up for breakfast
I have a bottle of Moet I want to bring on my princess cruise but I was told by them that it has to be less than 700ml for no corkage fee and the bottle is 740ml. Also the girl couldn’t answer to me if the walls were metal, much appreciated.
Hi! You will be fine with that bottle. If you drink it in your cabin, there is no corkage fee…. But if you take it to the restaurant, that’s when you get charged.
I’m sure all the walls are metal, it doesn’t look like it, but they are!

Thanks for your tips. Our first on Princess ( of many). Normally use Cunard or P&O’s. Unfortunately neither will allow non vaccination passengers on board. Not everyone is able to have them. Princess will from 8 September on I hope. Thanks wonderful vlog

You were right about the medallion David not very good at all, lots of positives but a few negatives too, love, Princess but would do a smaller ship if we sailed with them again.

App was a non starter for us on sky princess recently. We'll stick with tried and trusted talk to crew to order food drinks, book table etc etc.

Hi David. The app simply didn’t work for me at all this cruise. I found this surprising as when we were on the Sky Princess last year it worked perfectly. Perhaps it struggles when so many people are onboard?
More than likely as she was full capacity felt so sorry for the crew the amount of grief passengers were giving them was unacceptable.
How I kept myself from getting involved at times on board I don't know but probably would've made things worse

Hi David, met you ad we queued to board and then a couple of times later. Glasses white hair and beard.. sadly my wife and I tested positive for the whole second week...along with 350 others. Not our best cruise but a lot of concern about Covid protocols which needed speedier action.
I remember meeting you. I felt a little unwell towards the end of the cruise, but I’ve done a few tests now and each one has been negative thankfully. I agree with you about the protocols. I am so sorry that you missed the second week. Did you get good service in your cabin?
@@CruiseShowUK well a broken TV, cereals and Yogurts served with knives and forks! 6 hour wait and 4 phone calls to get throat lozenges, on one day we never got a single call to see how we both were. Lots of other duty of care issues and the final straw was finding out Covid had been on the ship since the first Tuesday. The Theatre was packed to the gills after that day and not a single request to tell people to wear masks, or any type of seating restrictions. We are not happy and are not intending to accept Future Cruise Credit on same ship by April next.
Oh my goodness, that is terrible and I’m really sorry for you both.
It sounds like you had terrible care from the crew and certainly deserved better.
I can’t believe they had such a large outbreak…. The ship was very full wasn’t it.

Just finished cruise from Southampton on Sky Princess. Expected 4 to 5 star experience. Would rate it as 3 star. They are obviously trying to claw back losses from COVID. Food was disappointing. A problem with this ship is it has no quiet area , music and/or noise everywhere. Very disappointing experience. My partner who is a Princess “groupie” said she would never sail on this particular ship again. Staff as ever attentive and professional, not their fault.

I did enjoy my time on the ship, having said that, I’m not sure I would rush back. I’m just not a fan of the Royal Class. It is lacking a decent lounge with sea views in my opinion.

How are the gluten free options? Also is it a pain to get almond milk on board the only cruise line that was good about theses options was royal
Hi and thanks for watching. Actually, you’ll find gluten free options throughout and the almond milk is no problem, especially from the international cafe. I think most cruise lines are upping their game with this sort of thing.

hi David I'm David too. I'm going on the ship in sept on a med cruse , i have some dollars left from an Florida holiday ,can I spend cash on board and can it be dollars .
Hi David! You can certainly use the US cash onboard. Although the shops and bars are cashless, simply take any dollars you have to guest services and they will credit your account so you can spend that money anywhere onboard. US dollars are also accepted in the casino. Have a great cruise!

Can you tell me if the USB sockets on Sky Princess are USB-C type? Princess can only tell me that they are 'USB'. Thank you.

Thanks David for video. Sailing on Sky Princess in August while over from Oz visiting family. This is our 4th Princess cruise. Seen a lot of negative comments re food, entertainment etc not the same as pre Covid. What r your thoughts?

Don’t read too much into the negative reviews. There will always be negative views, no matter what!
I’ve sailed on Sky Princess twice now since the restart and I have had a great time. I’m sure you will too. In my experience the food is still good and so is the entertainment.

Just a foot note we r going on a 7 day cruise in January ex Brisbane on Quantum of the Seas, not overly excited about it as it it’s such a big ship and caters more for families. do you have to prove or take a covid test before they let you embark on the ship
Hi Dave. It depends on which itinerary you are taking. It changes very often depending on countries being visited. For the best information check the cruise lines website nearer to your cruise sail date.
Anybody know whether or not the cruise ships have flavored carbonated drink or a seltzer with about 5% alcohol ? Something like Nutrl seltzer.
Hi Renee. There’s definitely carbonated drinks available. I don’t think I’ve seen the others on any menus.
"Passengers are allowed 1 bottle per passenger"..can the bottle be distilled spirits or does it have to be wine?
Each passenger may bring one bottle of wine of champagne up to 750 ml per sailing. Any additional bottles brought onboard will be subject to a $15 corkage fee.
Beer and liquor are not allowed to be brought on-board.
