  • Adam Wainwright on his start in Atlanta: "We had a good game there for a minute, just let it slip away at the end. ... As the game wore on I got a little sharper and sharper until the very end there."

Peeps, my heart ACHES for Adam Parrish Wainwright aka UNCLE CHARLIE ! The 42-year-old from Brunswick, Georgia is SO CLOSE to a milestone but I think he'd rather get fitted for a THIRD Fall Classic ring with our St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league) any day. #12in23

It's disappointing to see how this guy cares more about 200 wins than the good of the team. He's cost the Cardinals about 15+ games alone this season with all these non-competitive starts.

    • @georgesouthwick7000
      @georgesouthwick7000 9 месяцев назад

Not to mention the fact that had he retired at the end of last season, as he should have, the Cardinals MIGHT have added a starting pitcher who would have actually helped the team. I believe Wainwright knew, based on his performance over the last 6 weeks of the 2022 season that the tank was empty. For purely selfish reasons, he came back so he could play in the World Baseball Classic and try to get his 200 wins. I have lost a lot of respect for him because of this.

      Oh come on...
      😂😂
Adam personally did not cause this team no more than seven or eight. 😂😂
If you ask his teammates they will tell you that they could have scored more runs and it's not his fault.
5-11 and he probably could have had 8 wins. I remember those games and they weren't all his fault. You can go look at the dates he pitched..
Adam did all right at the end..
His team as a whole didn't work out in 2023 don't blame it on Adam.. He ended 2022 with a 3.72 and 11-12.
3.72 is really good and it's not like he was having games last year like he was this year. That it wasn't happening. It was he wouldn't have came back. Stop it.

@@georgesouthwick7000I literally just looked at the 2023 game logs and I counted 8 games that Adam started where he only allowed 4 or less runs that the Cardinals lost as a team...
And three of them were when Adam had three good starts in a row where he didn't allow more than 3 runs in each of the games... Not three shutouts in a row,
But three games started allowing three runs each game that we lost.
So with a little luck and some run support Adam could have at least 10-12 wins in 2023 easily. But as has been the case the last few years he just don't get a lot of run support.
And on top of that Adam has struggled against terrible teams and pitched very good against well above .500 teams that are in CONTENTION.
So it's not as bad as you think it is... Yes he's had bad games but it's not as many as you really think it is...
If you go look you'll see that there's eight starts that we should have won but he didn't get run support.
In my opinion if you're starting pitcher and you allow 4 or less runs,
Your team should be able to score four or more runs.
That's not wainwright's fault in my opinion..
Adam allowed 5 or more runs 7 times this year.. But he also allowed 4 or less runs 14 times..
It's literally not as bad as it looks..
      Look at his starts..
If you go by earned runs its 14 starts at 4 runs or less.
If you go buy runs its 11 starts of 4 runs or less..
So honestly Adam Was alright for a 42 old in my opinion.
Deserved 200 wins way before he did..
So what I wanted to do was prove to you that it was a team problem and I think I did.

Last Sunday in Philly Waino signing autographs and kept ignoring me when I asked him to sign my Molina jersey. I wanted him to sign it because it would be something different to have. Figured have the duo on the jersey like that would be cool. Kinda had me feeling some kind of way but he may of thought I was gonna sell it idk

It really boggles my mind how they are still waiting Adam allow more than four runs.
Cap him at 4 runs. As soon as he allows that fourth run you got to start thinking about taking him out because after the fourth run it's always more.
It's just strange because you never see any other starting pitchers being left out there to allow All those runs.
And they know that he's been struggling so you know it's coming if he allows that fourth or fifth Run.
I just don't understand why they don't have a four-run cap on him that way the game doesn't get out of control and his era does not get butchered.
And the players will still have confidence that they can win instead of being down seven
They act like they don't know how to manage the team when Adams on the mound..
Think about it. When was the last time you seen any other of our starting pitchers being left out there to allow six seven or eight runs?
    It makes no sense.
    Make it make sense!!! Please.

Well we all know it’s not Oli’s decision. It’s Waino’s decision.
That’s my problem with a coach who is 37 or whatever. Waino walks and talks like he runs the clubhouse, and I’m not sure Oli or Baker know what to do with it. Juvenile and amateur leadership. Probably too intimidated to sit him. Don’t know how to have tough conversations.
Waino has also constantly preached that velocity and strikeouts are some kind of a sabermetric, too 😂. Imagine what the younger pitchers think when they see the captain of the ship explaining away every obvious bad outing he’s had and one of the historically worst season ERA’s and WHIP in MLB history. What a wonderful precedent being set for younger pitchers.

@@bn2870Nah his era is nowhere near the highest in history. Lol.
I think that was Roy Halladay and it's over 10.00. There's also so many innings to be in the combo of that record.. Not that Adam don't have the innings. He does. He's just not near the highest of a starter in a season.
Adam ended with a 7.40. I think. Got 200 wins and did it with 7 shutout innings against the 1st place Brewers. Adam did alright..

Stop. Stop with the explanations. Stop. Every pitcher goes through what you go through. “Bad inning” “bloops” “good lineup”… you don’t have it man. And any half smart baseball analyst/fan/scout knows it without blinking. You don’t deserve an outing for a 200th win, because you’re not competing. Your physical skill has melted. And you’re not doing what you SHOULD do, which is mentor other pitchers. Do you care about the limelight or preparing the next crop for success? What do you really care about?

Also getting sick of hearing how the offense doesn’t give him any support. When your ERA is 8.00+ it isn’t the fault of the offense.
