This is easily one of the best versions of NV they have ever made! I’m very happy to see that we can see color at night, even if it’s more limited to night oriented species. It gives great clarity for species that are active at night, while emphasizing the horror for those who aren’t, while still giving adequate enough vision. Very pleased by this change

YES this is what I've been wanting with its NV for sooo long! Finally a nv system that INCLUDES FULL COLOR and simply makes the night and surroundings look brighter! It's more realistic too (I'm pretty sure), since I heard somewhere that to a cat, night time doesn't look black and white or green, it just looks like a slightly darker daytime.
Even during the day it seems Damm near night time in most parts. Having to use night vision at all during day is a problem. It's quiet literally impossible to play PT during night cause they can't see literally 1 foot infront of them whilst flying. If your hungry and it's about to turn night have fun In death screen

This night vision looks very promising, though I simply hope that the lower end of it won’t so bad as to make it almost impossible to play during the night (cough cough pteranodon)
Had not yet seen these pictures of upcoming Night Vision. It does look large improvement from what i experienced during V3 and have in EVRIMA so far. NV is great when it does hinder vision, but not so much that you cannot see where you are running as everything is far away so walking/trotting everywhere isn't really an option. If upcoming one allows us to see environment but hinder us from seeing creatures, that is fine for day time creatures but keeps night time creatures advance in mind by giving them larger area to spot creatures from farther away.
Especially when theyre so selective on what realism matters in the game. Deinos taking a long time to grow? Check. Deinos being able to see a little bit in the dark, as gators generally do hunt at night? Nope. Hopefully this fixes a lot of the NV problems for a lot of the characters.
Ah, you missed one of the Evrima night visions, the way night vision works currently underwater on Evrima was one of the versions that they had used on land (almost pitch black with only outlines and shapes visible, with range being determined by size "smaller=further Larger=shorter etc.") but a lot of people were complaining it was causing seizures and such so they ended up changing it again, personally i think it was the most accurate/realistic and honestly the best one, as it kept your ability to see at night with realistic values (example: moonlight and such kept color and visibility to open area's, but in area's heavy in trees and vegetation would be much darker and the outlines and shapes of things came more into play), i also think it was strange that that version was causing seizures because before that whole instance, i had never heard of faded dim lights/dark outlines and shapes causing seizures ever. i get the feeling people just found it too difficult and used that as a cover to force the change, but that's also to be expected as we are in the hand holding era of gaming. (personal opinion)
Unrelated but I have an idea to try to fix mix packing, adding a fear mechanism to the dinosaurs when they get near something larger than them that isn’t their own species.
I might actually play the isle again if they fix night vision this way LOL! The game is so beautiful. It's a shame you barely get to even see it half the time right now.
Good god. I had forgotten about the first iteration of Evrima's night vision. It was so bad, I had to put a notice whenever I dropped videos, basically saying, "Please proceed with caution if you are prone to epilepsy."
You missed mentioning (in the first set of NV version) the version of NV that was the outlines (I see you mention it later tho)-- I actually REALLY liked that version - it's too bad it made made some folks sick -- but I can relate cause the new claustrophobic camera distance makes me sick sometimes :c Maybe they'll bring back the outline NV for humans in the form of NV goggles - I'd really appreciate that. if they have two goggle items -- one with the usually green filter and one with the outlines - that could give players a choice incase the outlines or a problem for them :3 (they prolly wouldn't do that tho)
This is a great change. I think the isle devs sometimes concentrate too much on being mega realistic they forget about the main priority that games should have. Being fun
Haven't played the game yet since the last few updates so please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this update just for nocturnal hunters? The picture you showed below the pic of no night vision, the new night vision and the one for the other species; the one for the other species looks like the same night vision we had before. If so, I'm not so hyped about this update. It's great for the nocturnal dinos but everyone else is still left with the same frustrating nv. I don't want it to be super bright or anything, just a clear radius like what we currently have and then outside of it (where it's usually pitch black) make it super dark but faintly be able to see further out. Still allows things to sneak up but those with a keen eye may spot something moving in the distance
Hey, i dunno if you will read this but what you think about customizable stats for dinos (weight, growth, stam, etc) on community servers? I feel like if this gets added could be a pretty good option to add options to the casual player dat have trouble on official servers and making some of the left behinds or dev pounching bags being actually enjoyable.
The Isle can't even get day lighting right -- the sun and direct light is way too bright, shadows are too dark, and only having NV on most of the time, even midday, makes it easy to see. No wonder they have to keep re-working night vision. You are 100% right that lack of vision isn't scary in a game, it's frustrating! but, now that you said you liked this upcoming NV and said it's perfect, they're probably going to change it cause they almost never finalize good decisions.
I know I used to have a laptop that couldn't convey NV properly in legacy. So I compared and contrasted to get what I needed for what other players can see. But yeah, there were those that abused the snot out of it.
Since The Isle is inspired by horror survival, I believe that the nightvision we currently have is good. It helps keep the game scary yet playable at the same time, I honestly don't really like the new upcoming nightvisions because it might interfere with that, but if that's what is coming, then I'm sure I'll learn to adapt to it. It might be a good change anyway.
So basically people didn’t like that the game was following its horror aspect by making it dark while still giving u a space of visibility but keeping u on alert for any nocturnal predator that could run out at u
So many fq years just to make nightvision good. Im not saying im not excited for the next update, i mean... its still the most exciting part of my life yet.

It's not like real nocturnal animals can turn their night vision on and off as though it was a pair of goggles, their eyes are just more sensitive to light. They'd literally always have night vision at night, right?

I'd like to add, nighttime has always been longer than daytime. Even if theoretically nighttime lasted as much as daytime, the sunrise and sunset of the cycle which were part of the daytime cycle were just as or nearly as dark as the nighttime cycle. This added to the nighttime cycle making it around 40-45 minutes long while daytime was only around 20-15 minutes long (full visibility).
I think every player no matter what creature they are playing should have the same visual clarity as everyone else. someone dyeing just because the game wouldn't let them see is a really poor decision. it's not nearly as bad as the Camra changes but I think this could be a similar issue of restricting information based on the creature is not good balancing in my opinion.
That's the whole purpose of night hunters though. All the night hunters we currently have in the game are very fragile. They need the element of surprise to get in the first 1-2 bites during hunts/fights. You're basically saying, "take away the main advantage these guys have." This would absolutely ruin gameplay for night hunters (what's the point of even playing them then?). And your point about "balance" is also strange imo. Who cares if a Troodon sees better at night than a Cera does for example? That Cera will still 1tap that little rat (as do most of the playables). I don't know, man, just makes no sense to me. It's like saying all playables should have the same bite force, the same max speed, and the same bleed resistance. It just doesn't make any sense. What some playables lack in night vision range, they make up for with bite force, health, speed, etc.. It's as simple as that. That IS balance. Just pay attention to your surroundings more. Don't walk in open fields at night if you don't want to get attacked by them. Use the jungle and foliage in general to move unnoticed. This shouldn't be hard to understand
I think nightvision in legacy was pretty good, before the end when the night without nightvision got horrendously dark from early dusk till late dawn. Yes you couldnt see landmarks well and therefore couldnt easily go somewhere but that kinda makes sense. Nighttime is not a time to go migrate somewhere, its a time where you huddle together, go a bit slower about things (as a daytime dino) I think it made sense and was a good balance of immersion and gameplay. Yes if you were halfway across the map and tried to get to your friends you would migrate anyway but it wasnt that bad to still do that bc you could see the names where you should be going and see a cliff soon enough to not jump down. most of the time at least. That said you should still be able to play at nighttime, and that was possible in legacy, you would see enough to find bushes or AI to eat and find your way to water or fool around with friends, all while there was this added fear of what would lurk in the shadows. But then everything got pitchblack at night and evrima had the same problem until now. I dont know whose clever idea it was and they frame it as iMmErSiOn... when it really is just a bad excuse... If there is a full moon, even us humans with terrible nightvision can make out a lot at night as long as you are not in dense forest you should be able to see the landscape around you in gray. Have the devs ever been out at night?
I used to use gamma in legacy just to be able to play the game. I'm not a very good player, and when half the server were also using gammer, it made so I at least had the chance of surviving the night. Thank you for mentioning that aspect, and that it certainly wasn't all players using it to 'cheat' so to say. I never started fights at night with yammer, but I would certainly try to defend myself if I wasn't able to slink away to avoid it. I miss legacy times. Pity I keep getting error messages whenever I've tried it switch back to playing it.
Hey man you will 100% not see this comment. But I still want to give it a try. I remember staying up till 4 on a schoolday to watch your history of the isle video. Is there any chance you could ever make another one? I appreciate you bro

@@wyattredman4747 i honestly think playing humans would be fun.... A real horror game xD But its not a priority... Evrima is a great game and the devs put obviously love and effort in. The T-rex should be the highest priority though... I keep dreaming about titanoboa, but its not important and difficult to pull off... The only game that ever pulled it off is beasts of bermuda.... Bought it just for the snake and love the "feeling" they did a great job and ptera being superfast and not having to mind stamina problems is awesome too :D
IMO the biggest problem with the current night vision system is the fact that anything outside your night vision range is pitch black, it got better a couple months ago when they made the dark less dark. But it's still so dark that some dinos are unplayable during night time, namely Pteranodon, yeah it can see like 15-20 feet in front of it, but when you're flying that is useless, you can see straight down or straight up, and not the mountain you're about to slam into.
Stop.. It means, what... Only dilo and troodon will get a beautiful view at night? And, how we can see, allosaurus too in the future? I agree that herbivores and diurnal predators should see worse. I hope an ugly night vision won't put you off playing on other dinosaurs...
hey man can you tell me(alongside with the isle true fans that were following the isle since 2015 not fanboys licker balls of dondi) what devs could go out of the isle(not just dondi but ive heard that there are some good ones so tell me the bad ones)
Like they have the night vision system perfect in Path of Titans!! The dirty devs of the Isle broke it with their bullshit changes to stamina, finding food, seeing at night and never fixing problems and game breaking bugs!! Like honestly give me one reason to reinstall The Isle but every time those dirty devs make one step forward they also make 20 steps backwards!! Also.. the game was due to be released with all the promised creatures and content like 5-10 years ago.. not in like 10-20 years time!!
The only issues with stamina are the decay and regen values on certain things like Biepi who need that to do anything, that and bucking needing a rework that doesn't disintegrate stam upon use. Other than that skill issue, and I'm assuming you didn't watch the video... Sure, MAYBE the game could've gotten that far if Legacy didn't get lobotomized, but I'd doubt that all of Evrima's animations, looks and features would be in it today. As of now the only thing holding the game back is staleness, lag and hackers now that they've actually fixed fatal errors but who'll know how long that lasts.

You mean night is more that half the day cycle. Like a 80 20 split. Not almost half at all... Daytime you can see clear in is as rare as a dryo
Pity I keep getting error messages whenever I've tried it switch back to playing it.
promising....
Hey man you will 100% not see this comment. But I still want to give it a try. I remember staying up till 4 on a schoolday to watch your history of the isle video. Is there any chance you could ever make another one? I appreciate you bro
I just hope this updates fixes bugs and fatal error, thats whats making the game unplayable.
first isle W???
I just want my spino bruh 😭 maybe in 5 years lmfao
Im a spino fan, but dont even dream about it anymore 😂
To play again i need the fing rex.
Or titanoboa, which is unrealistic sadly 😅
@@tyrionlannister4920 yep. I’m just tired of the such slow progress, it’s annoying that they’re working on useless stuff. For example, humans. Like dude how tf are you going to work on humans for a dinosuar game when you hardly have any Dino’s 😭
@@wyattredman4747 i honestly think playing humans would be fun.... A real horror game xD
But its not a priority...
@@tyrionlannister4920 exactly.
But the night vision is supposed to make the isle more scary ?
That's the neat part. It doesn't
Am i in the minority for liking legacy s night vision ?
I hope an ugly night vision won't put you off playing on other dinosaurs...
hey man can you tell me(alongside with the isle true fans that were following the isle since 2015 not fanboys licker balls of dondi) what devs could go out of the isle(not just dondi but ive heard that there are some good ones so tell me the bad ones)
also tell me who are the good ones
anything but add new dinos lmao
i alr love the video lol
Legacy night vision was perfect, now its basically press x to skip the night
cap
Like they have the night vision system perfect in Path of Titans!! The dirty devs of the Isle broke it with their bullshit changes to stamina, finding food, seeing at night and never fixing problems and game breaking bugs!! Like honestly give me one reason to reinstall The Isle but every time those dirty devs make one step forward they also make 20 steps backwards!! Also.. the game was due to be released with all the promised creatures and content like 5-10 years ago.. not in like 10-20 years time!!
Path has night vision?
@@pilot_bruh576 (it doesn't)
The only issues with stamina are the decay and regen values on certain things like Biepi who need that to do anything, that and bucking needing a rework that doesn't disintegrate stam upon use. Other than that skill issue, and I'm assuming you didn't watch the video...
Sure, MAYBE the game could've gotten that far if Legacy didn't get lobotomized, but I'd doubt that all of Evrima's animations, looks and features would be in it today.
As of now the only thing holding the game back is staleness, lag and hackers now that they've actually fixed fatal errors but who'll know how long that lasts.
@@AnAntarcticScotsman rip legacy had the potential if it didn't had the code as comprehensible as the georgian language
@@AnAntarcticScotsman oh then how could it be perfect if it dont exist
idk but i think its so annoying that u make the video "intro" "main content" and then "outro"
The Isle is a terrible game.
This game is shit...
the isle night and night vision has always been its worst mechanic.
The only horrific things in the isle is the devs attitude towards their community and the speed hackers.
well the game is out for almost 10 years and still ABSOLUTELY SLOWEST dev time i have ever seen in a game the games ceo/owner is a liable weirdo who rather donates thousans of dollars to twitch steamers then actually develop te game people who are still backing this game and the whole the isle youtube community are glazers or paid sponsors its rly utterly BAD
