He plays a ton of different instruments and has recorded with a lot of bands. Josh Homme asked him to play the vibes on QOTSA’s Rated R. He was also the drummer for Mad Season.
I was at the show in jersey w this same line up on July 5 1993. The trees were best band in the line up. Brings back great memories. Lee Connor is a beast of a guitar player. It’s a shame the Tree’s didn’t get the notoriety they deserved - great band
The drummer is simply my kind of drummer playing every note beautifully perfect. It's a serious song to get it right with all the drum rolls punching left right and centre. He played to the record really well for a live sessions.
Song has a special place. Me and GF ate shrooms and I remembered being laid out and all I could hear was this song because it seemed like we were drifting apart. Everytime I hear this song I can just see me reaching for her hand in the dark and her reaching back but we just keep getting further and further away.
Right I feel the same about Alice in chains as well...just out of left field the trees where and that's pretty damn cool...they embraced the late 60s sound and even Alice in chains more idk exactly how to say it...but down tuned and heavy ...I like the trees jam band style and then I know both bands where friends with each other and toured a good bit of the world together ...the 90s might be the late time music was actually pure and ment something to people back then...I actually feel bad for younger ppl today....but all old ppl say that 😂😂😂😂😂✌️
Thank you for uploading this! 🤘🏼🙏🏼 I was at this concert w some friends when I was a kid and it's so awesome to have found this. After them was Soul Asylum and Spin Doctors headlined. My first legit concert with no parents lol 🤣🤘🏼
Same here. I've had countless discussions in my life about this being my first ever concert. 16 years old but had a super cool cousin who let me drink. Jack Daniels Downhome Punch For the win
Rest easy with Layne, Chris, Andrew Wood, and the rest Mark. Screaming Trees are the essential grunge/alternative rock band. Mark Lanegans vocals define and pioneered alternative rock vocalists
Seen them preform at DeerCreek amphitheater in Indianapolis Indiana on this tour! Never forget it! At the end of every song, Lanegan would turn i. Silence, and face the drummer, and one of the Conners would talk to the audience! I read that Jim Morrison done the same thing the first few shows he played with the Doors!
Wow, a guy in the audience has the "9 out of 10 kids" PJ shirt!! I haven't thought about that shirt in a long time, but if felt like they were everywhere in the 90's. Sad the message is even more prevalent today....
Gary Lee and the Fun Bunch absolutely destroying any and all metaphorical beach balls the mis-located spring break brats can release. This is their Louie Louie and you can't sleep on that.
Early dat tape digital HD quality seems. Top notch production and image content body surfing included. When nobody had money... except for hash. Grunge was by far the CHILLEST era. Peace mon!
I remember buying this and thinking there must something in the water in Seattle that this many good bands are coming out of there. This was the closest thing they had to a hit.
Mark’s thinking “that guy better show up once our set’s over,I’ll be in desperate need of getting well”. Normally that would be a joke but after reading his book it becomes clear that most of his days on tour went just like that. Or he copped before the show. When I was a kid I thought any musician with a record deal was automatically a multi millionaire and had women and drugs thrown at them every day. Tbh having been in bands myself(nothing huge obviously) that’s sometimes true minus the money, except drugs aren’t glamorous and those girls would be all over any guy on stage and don’t really care who you are😂
I think this is Mark in his rock star prime. Top 3 in my opinion, with Plant and Morrison. The difference is Mark can play guitar and write music. That makes him number 1. I'd put Iggy Pop up there too. Also Cornell.
Cool performance, guitar is kinda all over the place. Hard to play rhythm and cover even half the fills this song had as only guitarist. They should've just gotten a roadie to play rhythm on those track or something 🤷♂️
Ironically I’m watching this on my iPhone as this was before I was born. So I wouldn’t call the iPhone “trash” but yes I agree with your overall sentiment. When I go to shows I don’t film them, I experience them.
Barret Martin is an amazing drummer!
Him and Lanegan balance out the cheeky shenanigans of Van Connor overplaying
Yes, he is criminally underrated.
I thought it wasnt him
Grande performance d batera

Darien lake that same summer, dude remeber how loud that show was? Im sure it was the same in jersey good times!
Best band to come out of Seattle.
Fucking awesome
1993 I was graduating from X-RAY school. I was 24 yo! Be carful young people, cuz time is like a thief in the night!!
I was 12. My Mom was an X-Ray Tech as well.
snatch it right out from under..

My favorite band of all time I miss Mark and the crew :(
I’m reading Mark Lanegan’s book “Sing Backwards and Weep” right now
The crew?
I heard them decades ago and liked them. But in the last couple months I had rediscovered them and wow I freaking love this band.
@@suicideheadaches4460 rap? Rap sucks!
@@robert.m4676 huh?? I didn't say anything about rap...
I was 14 back then. My god time flies.

... when grunge ruled the world!!!
The guitar player stole the show awesome job
RIP Van- underrated add birth a bassist and songwriter
Barrett is a beast on the drums and that guitar solo was sick. What a glorious mess music used to be. The drop-off is heartbreaking.
Seriously.
Those drums ❤
Banda extraordinária. 👏👏👏

Did you guys split up?
No dude, thays not what he meant. They were tripping and their arms were getting longer from the visuals kicking in
Brilliant Band!! So much more to them than the other Seattle bands for sure.

@KevinPritts All very true. But if you dig deep enough now you can find newish good bands. Eg. Thus Love or Michigan Rattlers...
Ultra rare performance! The Band and Mark on "auge era"... Please, upload more videos!!!
I saw the Charlotte, NC show. It was 3 days after this show. I will never forget seeing them in their prime on my hometown. R.I.P. Mark & Van
Esse baterista sabia das coisas
The drums😮❤
A voz do Mark Lanegan estava incrível 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I saw soul asylum last year in salt lake, still super fantastic
Drummer is incredible!!
Barrett Martin on drums is phenomenal!
Lee always played the most dope guitars. Beautiful, rockin' Les Paul!
God bless you and the Trees!
Are there any more songs from this set? Sound quality is good

I cant hear the vocal
Barret reminds me of Stephen perkins here, in a few ways
I can see that
Grunge time
It's not selling out to the man if you tune your guitar.
I nearly Costco there
And I bought a pound of pears

Glad they panned away from the crowd, it look pretty lame for 1 of the best bands of the 90s
60s flavor with immigrant song notes led zeppelin no kidding
I just hate those kids watching. No idea at the time but all lawyers and estate agents now.
