This is pure gold, when i see them i time travel 30yrs back in my mind. Lendl was the most consistent,Mc Enroe the most elegant,Becker the most powerful and Wilander the smartest/tactical are my opinon of these quartet. Bless them all because they made tennis back then exiting 🙂.

Suat Kaya you are pretty much spot on !!

@@paoloantunes1283 I remember Edberg was the best at chip and charge. He came in on almost all second serves and a lot of first serves. My favorite player was Illie Nastase. Saw him live twice and he didn't disappoint.

Yes he would come in on first, second, third serve :)))... although McEnroe had the best touch, Edberg was the finest volleyer I’ve seen.

They certainly should comment matches together, and argue among themselves at will! Imagine Lendl and Becker, both having coached the greatest (Murray and Djok respectively) disagreeing on some finer point of a Djok-Rafa match? Pure Gold. But making this kind of reunion a regular occurrence? I don't think so, the spontaneity would quickly dissipate.

They can recall every point and detail, every loss or victory at will, and any opinion they formulate about the game today (see part 1) is insightful and potent. You can feel how fast and sharp their minds are, no wonder they lived on a higher plane. Ivan's authority, Mac's exuberance, Boris' straightforwardness, and Mats' subtelty, are gems to behold, so akin to the style they displayed on court back in the days. When you're a top performer, you can't befriend a true rival. Because he's your worst nightmare, your nemesis. Then, 30 years later, it all seems a bit childish and you turn it all into some private joke... even though from time to time you see the fangs poking out of the smile: just check out the way Lendl stares at Mac for half second at 01:58, when Mac dares interrupt him!
