      Jose Rodriguez
      Also, this was the first time changing the ink since I bought it several months ago. I noticed that after I replaced my cyan and magenta, the print quality wasn’t as good as before. I could see a cyan tint on my artwork. I took the cartridges out and gave it a better tap and shake. I also pushed in on the cartridge plunger a few times that is located on the back. Now everything is back to printing perfectly!!

    I have a HP DESIGNJET 450C with this issue. All prints are PINK (Magenta)? Could you help with a link to the video for colour management with drivers etc...

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  5 лет назад

      I have never owned an HP printer whether office type or for photography but I assume color management would remain pretty much the same as with any other brand. The first thing I would ask you to do is to print a standard image simply letting the driver control everything use a photo paper compatible with your HP printer Choose the matching Paper type in the drop-down menu in the driver. if you get a neutral result then your problem lies with your own private images. By the way when you open a standard image you never edit it regardless of what it looks like on the monitor. Specially if it is not calibrated. There are so many aspects to this that I cannot begin to begin to point you in any particular direction but you first need to establish that the printer by itself can actually print neutral also perform a nozzle check to determine if any of the color channels are not printing 100%

    I use a Canon MG5650 with Photoshop cc. If I print a jpg image on plain paper the black is black. If I print the same image on the glossy setting the Black is deep magenta. I let PS manage the colours.
    I have changed the black ink cartridge and run a test page OK. Help!!!

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  5 лет назад

      First of all when you print on Plain paper that printer is probably using a pigment base black ink and when you print photos it will revert to a photo type Black Ink which is usually dye based and is not true black. It's actually a deep purple. The driver needs other colors to composite and create a true black. You should try to print with just the driver and see what happens since you're using Photoshop to manage color are you turning off color matching in the Canon driver and then using a matching paper profile in Photoshop? If you are not doing that then you're double profiling

    Another great video as always, found it hiding in the playlist. As an OSX user, I have to agree that with every new update Apple just messes up the printing drivers, and sometimes they dont ever bother to correct the errors. This problem usually effects more of Canons then Epsons. I usually use my own profiles as I print on range of media with different types of inks, but I can not use Mac ICC profiles on Windows or other way around, so I have to create separate profiles. To disable printer controlling color profile, in color matching part of the printer driver I just select Generic RGB which disables printers controls of colors and then use the printing program with appropriate profiles to print. On Windows disabling printer color control is far simpler and easier.

    Sorry for beating this horse. But I can't get my Epson 3800 to print properly on RR Satin. It does fine on Glossy paper and Epson luster. Yes, I watched the Epson videos on the 3800 and have management and other settings set perfectly. I also did a nozzle check and it came out perfectly, even the yellow channel. Did two wasteful cleaning processes and it still has a magenta cast. I am not using a "preview" when printing. As I mentioned I am using the correct printer profile for the paper and no color control in the print module so there are no conflicts. I have reviewed the settings over and over again and followed Epson video precisely and nothing gives. any ideas will be appreciated.

      Why not try it simply letting the driver control color and choose a semigloss paper choice in the driver and see if it a problem with their Profile.
      If it still prints magenta then it is the paper. Not much I can suggest as I am not there with you.

      Always run a nozzle check any type you do not get the proper color rendition. Then if needed, run a cleaning cycle. Now say pdf prints black. And that's normal? I need to know your actual settings from your computer ( forget phone that is not color managed ) as well as your printer's driver. Assuming your inks are flowing 100% as determined by a nozzle check, off color is due to work flow inconsistencies.

    I have an older HP Deskjet printer that is printing very inaccurate colors for some of the color pallet. It's a brand new color cartridge (non HP). When I print the colors in DRAFT form, the colors basically match the color pallet (but they are light of course being in draft). But when I print the normal print intensity, many of the darker shades flip to another color entirely. So a dark blue on the original pallet becomes a hot pink or maroon on the printed page. A darker magenta on the pallet becomes an olive green on the page. A darker green becomes a blue or purple, and a darker yellow, gold or orange becomes purple. Any suggestions Jose?

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  4 года назад

      I have no idea as you are not using OEM inks. And what is a Pallet? I also do not use any HP Printers. You need to double check your driver settings and also run a nozzle check to see what colors channels may not be printing. That would cause crazy color shifts.

      Until your print head is cleared, DO NOT print any more images of you will permanently damage your printhead.

    Just purchased and successfully set up an Epson EcoTank 2760. I am shocked at how terribly washed out all the colors appear, particularly red. I ran a nozzle check and everything is perfect. Setup and installation was easy. But the color quality is baffling. I've tried printing the same image from Adobe, GIMP, Gravit, Windows Picture Viewer, etc. Same terrible results every time. I did my homework (reviews, YouTUbe, etc.) on this printer and no where can I find mention of this problem. I am bringing this back tomorrow without hesitation. I know from past experience that the exact same image printed on an HP Office Jet 3830 Series printer produced more accurate, vibrant colors compared to the on screen image, for half the price. I thought moving into the non-cartridge world would be proactive, but this is a joke.

    You're very thorough. Thanks for taking the time to put this up here for us. Unfortunately, none of these fixes worked for me. Nozzle check reveals all cartridges are working. Went to the article too. Bummer. I have the Epson Artisian 730 and I'm trying to print a great 1940s black and white photo of my old neighborhood in the Bronx but, it's pink, no matter what I do. Wow. AND you get back to us? Pretty cool guy. OKAY first of all, I didn't have "Print Preview" selected so, that wasn't it. Many found that to be the solution but, it wasn't for me :(
      I'm working from a PC and yes. All 6 colors in the nozzle check show up fine. Actually,that was the first thing I checked. I never had this problem till a week ago when I tried to print this picture. Tried other pictures and the same magenta hue. But, it doesn't show pinkish when printed on my ancient HP 1200 PSC and, it was printed from the same picture viewer program Xnview. I was willing to download the file on their website but, it's for Photoshop. I don't use Photoshop. I have it installed but, never use it. AND, this just happened so... Can't think of anything that could have caused it. Also in Advanced tab under: "Color Management" I ticked:
      "Color Controls"
      Color Mode "Epson Standard"
      and changed Gamma to "1.8" as the Epson website recommended but, no dice. So I then selected "ICM" and "Off (No Color Adjustment) but that too did not help.. I also changed it from "best photo" to "photo" thinking to reduce saturation I guess. That helped on the HP but, not on the Epson Artisian 730 where I do all my printing. Anyhow...

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  5 лет назад

      Today the standard is Gamma 2.2
      Have you printed the standard evaluation image with just the driver controling color? Open it and print it. Do not edit it. Join my FB Group and go to FILES to obtain it.
      Watch my color management videos. Assuming you monitor is calibrated, your lrinter operating correctly and you are using tbe proper settings I demonstrate in those videos you sbould be able to obtain neutral results. Color casts are due to improper settings as long as the printer is 100 clog free.

      You're on a Mac right??? It's not available on your driver. If you have print preview on, disable or your MAC driver will produce Magenta prints. No offence but that is I will never use a MAC for printing photos. It tries to automate tbings because it thinks you are not smart enough to set up your color managent settings yourself.

      Wrong color in what regard? Have you printed the UNEDITED Evaluation Image found in my FILES tab in my Facebook group? You can not evaluate a printer's output unless you print a CONTROL image. If your monitor is not calibrated for linear neutrality, contrast, brightness and white point and you edit on it...........
      well, how do you know if what you see on it is even correct. Then you edit while trusting that what you are seeing is actually accurate. See what I mean? Print the Eval image and look at it for neutrality and simply....does it look correct. If it does then it's your display introducing errors.
      When you print the Eval image just open it and print it. Let the DRIVER control color. Use Canon paper and choose that paper in the DRIVER media menu.
      If you are on Windows which I hope you are, choose Color / Manual Adjustment then MATCHING and then ICM. The driver will automatically link the job to the CANON paper you chose in the media menu.
      On MAC......well I am not sure.
      Good luck.

    Hi Jose,
    Thanks for the tutorials on printers. I am just starting a business up in sublimation printing. The problem I'm having is when I print a wrap sheet the image looks dull which I expect on sublimation paper.
    However, when I produce a mug the photo looks darker than displayed on the monitor. I have carried out head clean, print tests and I ensured the colour management is only using the icc colours I bought from the suppliers.
    The other issue I have is after creating a mug I have noticed a number of black lines running along the top of the mug, the black lines are not noticeable prior to using the heat press. This makes me think the rollers need cleaning as the printer paper went though the printer twice as if it was printing a double sided page.
    I have no idea why this started to happen but notice my printer paper was laying faced down after completing a printing job. How do I clean the rollers without damaging it. I am told that my printer is not covered by the warranty because I have used sublimation ink!
    I am going to scroll through your tutorials to see if I can find a tutorial on my problem.
    Thanks

    Jose, I bought a brand new Epson L3050 which is an Eco-tank printer and used the original ink in the box, I couldn't get the printing to get the colors to look true, Red looks orange and green doesn't look green. I couldn't find the right ICC profile to choose from. I am printing on plain Xerox papers and the printed pages get out soaked in ink and colors as mentioned are off. I know that colors can never totally match the screen colors, I totally understand that, but at least if I print a flag with red, I expect the flag to have red, not orange color. Where I can get the proper ICC profiles to download? I couldn't find any place that directly offers those downloadable profiles for Epson L3050, please advise. Thanks.

    • @cheo1949

      You could have custom ICC Profiles made bit so you know the inks used on those printers are pretty much horrible and only really suitable for document printing on plain paper regardless of their claims.

    A) you repeat yourself a lot. Made the video almost painful to watch. I don't know how many times you said that you already covered this on other videos, but it was several. B) Nothing you suggested helped me with my problem, so I solved it myself and thought I'd post the solution on here for other people with a reservoir type Epson printer. Mine was printing pink when it should have been cyan. I went into Settings, then Printer, then selected the Epson ET-2650, then Printing Preferences, then the Maintenance tab. Under Maintenance, you can select Power Ink Flushing. This will flush the line if you haven't used your printer in awhile and it gets clogged. I printed a cyan page after that and it looked fine.
