- Well this was a pretty scary run to say the least! It's insane how realistic it feels at times in VR!
Some more 4K gameplay from the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset in Dirt Rally 2.0. This time we are in a very stormy Finland driving the Subaru Impreza S4.
We are also using the Logitech G29 wheel/pedals/shifter and a custom handbrake to drive.
Let me know if you enjoyed the video, drop a like if you did and feel free to subscribe to the channel if you are new, be great to have you here! :)

Unreal. Sometimes when I'm playing WRC I need to remind myself that people *actually* do this in real life. Great video.
I know man it’s actually insane! And there’s no restarts if they hit something either.. Thanks for watching, much appreciated.
Man watching rally without umbrella is more terrifying
Man’s a maniac
I still can't fathom how the fuck rally drivers can process all that information and pressure in such a hellish pace and still function to drive a tin can in such breakneck speed. If it were me, my brain would totally shut down after only 1 minute. 🤣
Haha yeah they are a different breed that’s for sure!
I know I’m late to this video, but DUDE, GOD LEVEL DRIVING!!!
Thanks bro, much appreciated! :)
That looks insanely difficult 😅
I won’t lie and say it’s easy, because it isn’t 😂
@@Storm_RXI have a meta quest 2 and I have this game on my series x could you tell me how does this work or if it even works on consoles?
Absolutely perfecttt
Thanks mate! 🤝
how do you capture that look? mine is so wide and i dont know how to adjust that. i use rift cv1 and obs studio
u made me buy it
Super! great skills!
Thanks dude 🙂
very very cool
Great video 👍
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Very impressive 👍
Thanks mate! 👍
sick driving bro
Thank you man 🤝
Insane bro 😳
Thanks dude 🤝
Goddamn this game looks good
Now i need vr and a wheel
Great driving btw
Yeah it’s awesome man! Thanks for the comment, much appreciated 🤝
any idea as to why the dark parts of the stages are impossible to see in VR, literally black? Using a Quest 2
That was so impressive
Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed!
Hi, im plaIng dr2 in vr with quest2 too, did anyone find out how to solve the bug, which causes the road and everything in front of the car to become one big blur at some times, and the game looking perfectly fine at other times? Thx
Hi. Nice video. What is your Oculus Quest 2 resolution and frame rate? and what graphic setting do you use in Dirt rally 2.0. Because with link cable in my rtx3060 the games runs bad. But. If i play another game like Alyx or Contractors, those games run very well. With top graphics. Also happen to me in Race Room that Oculus Quest 2 don´t run it well.
Thanks.
Hey man, thanks for the comment. Let me get my settings for you tonight when I’m home, can’t remember off the top of my head 👍 But that’s weird that it’s not running great for you, sorry to hear that! It took me a bit of playing around with the settings to get a good middle ground but you have a really decent gpu so shouldn’t really be struggling. It can also be quite CPU intensive though, what one do you have?
Hi mate, so I’m running my Oculus Quest 2 resolution at 4128x2096 and refresh rate at 90hz. Then DR2.0 graphics settings are all set to high preset apart from shadows and reflections which are normal 👍
@@Storm_RX Thanks. And another question. Do you try HUD PERFORMANCE with oculus tray tool to see FPS count on Oculus? I try but it doesnt show me the fps..any other way?
thanks again
@@opelcalibra6833 Really sorry dude, I haven’t actually used that before so I can’t help you with that 😕
Hi.. What grafic card are you using?. And what hz and supersampling in your oculus?.. Thanks.
Hi mate, my graphics card is an MSI rtx 2060 super (oc’d). I’m running my Oculus Quest 2 resolution at 4128x2096 and refresh rate at 90hz
Great job 👍
Thanks man! 🤝
Thanks
Nice drive men
Cheers dude 🤝
Thats impressive ive done this stage in those conditions in vr and it's no joke .
Yeah it’s pretty crazy for sure, can barely see the track at times!
@@Storm_RX its as bad as being in the dust cloud in rallycross lol .
@@kennyk4134 Haha ah man nothing worse, literally impossible when that happens
I don’t get it. I don’t use the quest two for steam Link with games like this. I have to turn the graphics to the lowest setting and it’s still overheats my PC and GPU. Is there a secret setting I need to know about?
How do you cope withe blurriness of the roads in Dirt2.0 VR ?? I’ve tried everything to get the road surface more than 10m ahead not weirdly blurred but it’s still there..
I’m running a 3070 and a Quest 2
Hi mate! Have you tried increasing the resolution of the headset in the Oculus desktop application? I increased mine to about 1.5x it’s default and I found it helped. You have a decent gpu so would probably be able to go pretty high with it too, then maybe just slightly lower some of the in game graphics settings to keep the fps steady. Let me know if it helps any 🤝
As if I were driving on a perfectly even sheet of ice
how do you grab the 2d video, when you´re in VR mode in Dirt? i want to know so badly and i cant find anything online
I just use nvidia shadowplay to record my computer screen 🤝
good setup
Thanks mate 🤝
👍👍👍
Think this convinced me on a thrustmaster.
Good choice man, enjoy! 😁
👍👍👍👍
Nice!! What are the specifications of your PC?
Thanks mate! Nothing crazy actually, i5 9600k, MSI rtx 2060 super, SSD and 16gb RAM 👍
Hi! Tracks you ran on do I have to buy it or can I run it right after I buy the game?
The Finland tracks are DLC. If you buy the ultimate version of the game all DLC locations are included though 👍
@@Storm_RX so you mean i should buy DiRT Rally 2.0 Game of the Year Edition?
Are you able to do tis without a steering wheel and just motion controllers?
Unfortunately no I don’t believe you can :(
@@Storm_RXyou can if you use a quest 2 and virtual desktop app.
May i have your vr settings please when i try to connect the game with the headset its laggy and not playable
Hey man, sorry to hear that. First thing to check is are you connecting via cable or wireless? And are you using the oculus desktop app or virtual desktop? :)
How You made inside of car look this normalne width. On my quest 2 i feel like in can of pickles
What is the computer specs to get this level of detail in vr?
Actually not too crazy a rig tbf man, I have a 2060 super (oc’d), i5 9600k and 16gb ddr4 ram. Be aware though that VR videos look better in the recording than they do in real life, it will be a bit blurrier in the headset itself 🤝
I just got myself a Quest 2, I am actually gutted now I didn't just struggle a bit more and grab the Quest 3, Still though I am great full I got the Quest 2, I started my Sim Racing journey with a PS4 and a PSVR on Dirt Rally 1, Actually pretty good for what it was, lol, And it tells me when I started Sim racing, I am now an AMS 2 nerd, AMS 2 on the Quest 2 is pretty good, I am still trying to find the right settings, I am only using a 3060 12gb GPU and an i5 12600k, Good combo though I made a mistake and cheaping out on the Motherboard, One thing I have learned with PC's, A good MOBO do make a lot of difference, Again I wish I put and extra 50 pounds and got a MOBO with more than one M.2, lol, I wish I never bothered with the PS4 now, The consoles is exactly that a CONsole, With a PC and Steam, The world of gaming is so much cheaper, So the money you would use on paying a subscription, Put to the cost of the PS5 and you will have a better gaming experience hands down, Moral of the story if you want to so Sim Racing, Get a PC, lol....
But yeah it feels appropriate getting Dirt Rally 2 after using Dirt Rally 1 to get into Sim Racing, As Sim Racing helped me escape lets just say a cruddy lifestyle as an addict, Been able to avoid the life I used to live down to getting into Sim Racing, Sim Racing also helps the Anxiety I gets, One of the main reasons of getting into Sim Racing, Was to help the mental health that I suffer, I don't want pills of the Doctors no more, They don't help in the long run the antidepressants, But Sim racing helps with Restless Legs I get from Anxiety, It sucks, I been in tears from the pain in the legs from Restless legs, I would say to anyone who suffers restless legs try Sim racing, Or even mental health, I cant put my foot on it why Sim Racing helps when you getting Anxiety, 3 years ago, I wouldn't of dreamed of putting on a VR head set, The CPTSD symptoms wouldn't allow me, Putting something over my eyes and put in a different surrounding, It would of freaked me out, I still got to build myself up to put the VR on, But VR or Sim Racing is helping with Anxiety I suffer from, Sim Racing is not a cure but it is better than pills, I do use Cannabis for the CPTSD but I feel Sim Racing helps with the body symptoms, Plus doing Dirt Rally for a few hours got to be amazing Cardio, lol....
Great Video though, Some driving skills for sure.....
I just got Dirt Rally 2 myself, Will see what the Quest 2 is like with DR2.........
GREAT , INSANE, could you please share us your settings regarding G29 in DIRT 2.0?
Thanks mate! Here they are:
Advanced settings: All default except -
Steering linearity: -1
Steering deadzone: 0
Steering saturation: 50
Input and feedback: All default except-
Self aligning torque: 120
Soft lock: 0 / off
Steering centre force: Off
@@Storm_RXthanks for these settings, worked very well with my old dfgt !
Question here is only one... Which GPU?
MSI 2060 Super 👍
@@Storm_RX thanks man
@LeopardX Sorry I’m honestly not 100% sure, I don’t have any experience with AMD gpu’s, I’ve always had nvidia. But I would hope you would be fine as you have a decent rig. I can squeeze about 80-90 fps on medium graphics settings which is what I tend to play on to limit any motion sickness
Hi wondering what your setup and specs are?
Rtx 2060 super (oc’d), i5 9600k, 6gb RAM ddr4 🤝
@@Storm_RX thanks keep up the great content 😃
How do you run this game smooth? With my quest 2 it is always stuttering even with my rtx 3080
Hey man! Do you use the headset wired or wireless? I tended to fine if I used it wireless it could be a bit laggy. Usually the reason for any sort of stuttering with my Quest is due to internet issues more than hardware issues, maybe something worth looking at? Also probably an obvious one but try lowering graphics (certainly shadows/reflections) and see if that helps any :)
@@Storm_RX I tried lowest settings possible and I do use airlink but in all other games it does not give any lagg. Dirt rally 1 is also running just fine, it looks like it is only dirt rally 2 which gives me lagg :(
@@rickyneeter69 Ah man that sucks. I’ll keep an eye out for any other solutions and let you know if I find anything, hope you get it sorted 👍
@@rickyneeter69 Verify integrity of the local files, Try a reinstall etc. etc.
This is the reason why people get consoles. Because it just works out of the box. I game on the PC too by the way but it can be a hassle sometimes.
what are your pc specs?
i5 9600k, MSI rtx 2060 super (oc’d), 16gb ddr4 RAM 🤝
I can play this game well in VR only , but the quest 2 seems not good for my eyes, the sweet spot of focus too small compare to psvr.
Same problem as always.
From the cockpit view, the car should also drop and rise from time to time while driving on an uneven forest road.
There is no such effect, the car tilts only on large unevenness. A pity for VR.
What thé gpu
Just a rtx 2060 super 👍
that jump and landing past house was sexy as fuck
Thanks dude! 🤙
Epic driving, I use this to show people how cool it can be in VR. Question, what are you using to capture? When I try in geforce experience the view is high and has a ton of roof and a jagged edge. Its weird ruclips.net/video/Sh6-7R7ynHs/видео.html
Thanks dude, much appreciated! 🤝 I’m using GeForce experience to record, haven’t had too many issues myself, but I do need to adjust and stretch the recorded footage when editing otherwise as you say you can see a lot of the roof. Just takes a bit of fiddling to get it to look right :)
@@Storm_RX aha! I suppose I will up my resolution and crop (and maybe try to adjust the headset down a little). Thanks for the tip and response!
@@Tailspin07 No problem at all, just reach out if you are still having issues and I’ll try help!
