They were turned by Aro because he had little time left and didn't hesitated because he knows they have great gifts. You'll really know exactly why if you read the books but I suggest that you should just watch the video at The Twilight Saga facebook page and the title of the video is Consumed :)

Adrian Crevan Well, I underestimated you considering I'm the one who didn't read all the books and didn't watched all the movies. I think they really are uncontrollable but they find Aro as their master and they worship him so much that in some parts of the books I've read and the movies I've seen, they really do listen to Aro, even though they are described to be the opposite considering they are young vampires... Why do you not like the saga anymore??
No matter if you hate Twilight, the Cullens, SM or all three you have to admit and acknowledge that the Volturi are badass and so much better than anyone.
I'm talking about their physical abilities. I'm sure their mental ability goes far beyond just sadistic psychopaths.

The Volturi were the ONLY interesting part of the Twilight Saga and they were barely in it.
Cassy Sullivan the villains of the series are the only real vamps. The good vampires are all like, hippy nature vegan vampires. Meanwhile the volturi be leading people to their deaths whilst on a tour of their abode, having innocent humans think it’s just a cool museum.
So were the Cullens and the wolf pack

Victoria was cool too
It's ironic how the three main protagonists of the story were the least interesting characters of the whole series.
Almost every other character was by far more interesting than Bella/Edward/Jacob.
I wish they used Alec and his powers more.

I fucking love the Volturi, no matter how cruel and shit they are, they're fucking badass and deserved more attention. Like we know about few of the characters but we should see more action from them.
So many people disregard the beauty and magic of instruments. Imagine this scene or any other in this saga (or any other movie in fact!) without that epic music in the background. That is not your 21st century techno-dub step crap. That is an orchestra, ladies and gentlemen. An orchestra.

Well, Jasper was probably well connected with people's emotions as a human, if that makes sense, so as a vampire he'd get an abilitie that causes him to just know and feel other people's emotions, then with Edward he could probably "read people" really well, if that makes sense lol, so I don't know about Aro because he can only read minds while holding people's hands right?

For the Volturi being the royals how the hell did they not even know about hybrids or Dhampires? You would think they would be aware of everything unless their really incompetent then it doesn’t make sense.
Spot on. Also, while we´re at it, why was Cauis thinking that La Push´s wolves/shifters were werewolves when he -personally - had hunted the real ones in the past, to the point of actual extinction?! Like, one would think that with his experiences he´d be the one to recognize the difference if it´d be only the whole "are able to transform even without the full moon" stuff. But that´s Twilight series for you, full of inconsistencies and plotholes.
Also it makes no sense that Aro didn't know about other wolves like the Quileutes, I mean the man is three thousand yo and can read EVERY single thought you ever had and still he never met no one that know about these wolves so he can be aware too?

The black smoke from Alec's gift isn't a "physical" form it's just an *illusion* like a shadow if there is a wind around the area it wouldn't blow it away like a normal smoke, only bella's mental/psychic shield can truly block it

alec volturi gets good build up dies in 5 minutes of big fight and dosent even try to use his powers or say to anyone else kill bella as she is the biggest threat

I think that even if his powers are slow he could have surrounded himself in his mist and then no one would of been able to touch him I think that they just wanted a scenario where the Cullen’s would win and so they made it where the biggest threats were killed early on in the fight which kind of lost the impact of the fight for me
That battle was made in the most weird and ridiculous way. Alec has one of the most powerful gifts in the whole vampire world still he didn't even try to use it in the fight, I'm sure they just wanted to make the Cullens look cool and badass so they sacrificed any sense the battle should have
