I wounded why Jane had this kind of power, or any of them really. I get Alice everyone thought she was insane but she could see things, maybe Jane felt like she had no control in her human life so it manifested into this “pain” power. Just a thought
I read that when Jane and Alec were announced “witches” because of their abilities, they were sentenced to burn at the stake - Jane’s power comes from the pain she felt while burning and the fury she had towards the townspeople (hope this helps!)
If Alec and Jane had both stood against Bella at once, she probably would've fallen to them. I think it was the twins' separation that spelled their downfall. Too bad the films didn't give Alec more attention. I really love the angle that the new voices series gave Jane. It sheds a lot more light on Aro's relationship with the twins, too. Jane was as close to a daughter as he'd ever have.

In my opinion Jane's death was truly the power of the plot, as was Aro and etc, etc, etc. The normal rule of thumb for vampires is that the older the vampire, more strength than the rest of them has, Jane was born 800 years after Christ, which makes her a 1250 year old vampire against vampires under 300...she should have easily gotten out of Alice's grasp. The power of love and friendship according to the scriptwriters. 🤷🏻♀️
