The HOF is a joke and they extort lots of money from the artists being inducted, but they give those side men and women one last shot at the spotlight. Band leaders (usually the singer songwriters) never want to do these things because they're still working hard making new music. But they often participate because it's the last chance in the spotlight for the rest of the band members. It's telling that Tina is the one jabbering on and on for 7 of the 10 minutes in this video.

Oh, for Christ sake. When the performers and bands get up to play (often for the last time) it makes it all worthwhile.

Tina associates herself as a large black man? There are some things that just need not be shared at an award ceremony, like airing out your dementia. She's a great female bass player pioneer, but please leave the alcohol alone.

I think she's making an oblique reference to the old accusations that it wasn't this tiny white woman that played all the cool bass on the TH records. But she's a little loaded so it's not coming off all that clear...

The best thing about Talking Heads was the rhythm section. Maybe (like most bands) it's a team effort.
