Well, Wattpad writers are. I usually just use the word "eyes," or when I'm being more specific, "irises." For example, "His hair was black like a ravens feathers, and his irises were a hue of silver." Or even simpler, "His eyes bore a color of blue, similar to that of the sea." Neither one of these sentences are perfect by any means. (I literally just made them up at the get-go.) But they are a better example of describing the color of someone's eyes than what is commonly seen in amateurly written Wattpad stories.
It's not that bad to use the word eyes if you have decent descriptors. I'm not a Wattpad writer, but if I had to describe someone's eyes it would probably be something like "their hazel eyes were comically large, and if you looked into them long enough you could see laughter in them." That's off the top of my head too, but using the word eyes doesn't seem that awful to me. Orbs, especially when used to describe every single persons eyes, just doesn't sound right after a while.
Whenever I hear the word “orbs” to describe eyes I burst out laughing, I don’t give a fuck if a character just got stabbed in the heart by their best friend, I will laugh like a maniac
JK Rowling once gave a N advice saying that describing a character's appearance on their first appearance is not that necessary. (unless if the character's characteristic is helping them highlight their own existence from the rest) One would say, let the readers do the work of imagining the character.
why not just put the author's own name on the so called y/n. lmao since it's obviously everything they 'want' to be or be able to experience. not a single part of y/n is relatable lololol
Basically... Y/N is a whole @ss person and not us😕 i mean- Y/N has their own gender, hair, eyes and what not style- (The comment section always have interesting tea obviously🙄✋🏻)
The Writers are Allergic to the word "Eyes"
