Stefano Ghisolfi - Ready to Fail

- When you aim for the top, you must be ready to fail. This is the mentality that drives @steghiso every time he face a new challenge, and his 2023 attempts of Burden of Dreams in Lappnor were no exception. And even if it is not an happy ending story (for now!), it was still a good lesson for Stefano about success, ambition and, ultimately, about life.

Huge respect to Sara for the support through the process-I hope she's crushing on projects of her own!!
actually this was my very first thought when I saw this movie! huge huge respect to Sara fur such a support.
One of the best videos I have seen in a while. More people should openly speak so much about failure. Brilliant.
Stefano is definetely the most ambitious climber out there. Ithink we can all agree seeing him suceed in both of these projects would be a defining moment in climbing history.
I think he will honestly and silence is probably harder than 9c🥲🤷♂️😂
I hope he will not lost his humility and suceed in olympic games soon!
This video portrays the literal meaning of the words "Burden of Dreams".
Amazing!
Damn I’ve never realized what it actually means
The breakdown of Silence's crux at 13:00 is awesome, best I've seen so far and really conveys how difficult it is. Daje Stefano!
Such a badass sequence and this does it justice, agree!
Yeah, absolute savage too, like holy shit what a problem for a sport route!
Adam uses different ( more direct) beta , and has prob. Only half of the moves in that crux.... but if course his knees can turn 360 degrees in every direction 😂
Stefano has a complete beta tour in an earlier video.
After watching that, I was half expecting his finger board to explode on contact with his hands. Crazy impressive.
cinema quality. thanks for posting this free on YT
for real. this has got to have some of the best cinematography I've ever seen in a climbing vid.
For me paradoxically it's one of the best motivational climbing video so far. You can't really understand what does success mean without the experience of failure.
The fact that he relaeased a failure video among the many success videos we see is refreshing as a human being to accept that we know when we've reached our limit. However, the best part is that the journey isn't over yet!
great to see people at the top showcasing this side of climbing. Its hard, it challenges you, you doubt yourself but thats what it makes ever so rewarding when you finally prove yourself wrong.
You have not failed until you have given up.
You have only learned.
That is the process.
That is the journey.
Keep pushing, keep learning, best of luck Stefano
@9:15 shots fired haha, legend!
Stefano mi hai fatto emozionare!!! Più video così, con questa qualità e queste emozioni!! Sei grande.
And don’t forget to believe in your dreams.
This is one of the views of Silence and BoD we've ever got, oh my god. Incredible film, thank you!
This might be a short film about failure, but the film itself is for sure a big win
Thanks team
Good crux explanation and awsome filming angles! Really makes you understand the difficulty of it…
Wonderful story. Can’t wait to see the sends
this is just the perfect mix between climbing, landscape and talking about climbing
Nice story and unique shots, vai Stefano!
Respect x
Man I really love the way you are narrating your climbing, focusing on embracing challenges, failures and the community aspect of it. Also, the best beta break down of the crux of Silence I've ever seen!
Ciao Stefano, guardo tutti i tuoi video, sei veramente un orgoglio!!! Io ti auguro il meglio!!! Sinceramente, io ho la sensazione che ce la farai...
I love his humbleness and modesty. 👍
Go Stefano! \m/
This is especially important for beginners like me to remember, there will be a boulder I'll simply fail on and have to move on from, and you have to accept that to try hard.
Amazing music choice and thank you for sharing with us the mentally hard part about projects. For me it's very fun to try impossible things, I always love to hear Shawn Rabotou talk about how realising that a project is possible almost breaks it for him haha :D . The inner child trying to figure out the so called "impossible".
Anyway your problems are on another level of course so I only humbly say - I believe in you Steffano tho I will never understand how hard it is. But I have unbreakable faith that you will do it if you persevere for sure!
Go Stefano! great video. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Also, this made me decide not to give up on my own goals. I've been feeling discouraged lately, but this shows the way to the right attitude.
It's so true. Failure needs to be embraced as an acceptable outcome in order to find success at your limit!!!
Trying the hardest boulders and routes of the world is always a success! 🙂👍🏻💪🏻
Best video you've done. Best video I've seen from any climber in ages. You're a champ Stefano.
Very nice video! The most important is not the destination but the journey. Nice to see all Stefano’s endless efforts to overcome this huge challenge thanks to the support of Sara Grippo and his friends.
Wow! Great film. Now I’m off to the gym to get some failure practice in.
Digging this aspect ratio
Great video and édit
Love the part with the features of the Stone
What a great film, the cinematography is insanely good! You got this Stefano!
Stefano does everything for the sport, not for his ego. Much respect.
Your best video so far.... :))) Sara&Stef nice
Puts in to perspective just how beast ondra is. The breakdown of the first crux is mind blowing (I know the beta is different in this vid)
Thanks a lot for sharing this type of videos
Cant wait to see the two send videos in 2024 :)
Simply AMAZING 😍 Forza Sté 💪💪
Putting out a video like this takes tremendous courage. Adam did it once too, when he failed Perfecto Mundo (which Stefano did send). I actually think that failure changed Adam. I hope Stefano will eventually send Silence too.
Wasn’t that the live series where Adam was taking a risk but hoping the releases would document a success?
Top quality production
stefano over here speaking facts
Grande video motivazionale. Complimenti Stefano!
I’ve always been impressed with your perseverance.
Woow, great video!
Great video 👏I must definitely film a climber film too here in our wonderful Frankenjura 😅
Thanks 👍inspirational and amazing video
Thanks for this excellent video and the really important lesson it contains. Brilliant!
Super great video ! Tank you so much for sharing the hardest mental game of climbing: handling failure !!
You forgot to put Sara's name in the main video, guys !! You put Stephano's, Elias' but not hers... Did I miss it? I only see it in the credits
wonderful
All my support from Argentina! Come on Stefano! 💪🏻
Thank you for sharing this! It's motivating and encouraging to see that even pro's have struggles wen it comes to achieving their goals!
Man i love your Content Steffano, ist really fun to watch and inspiring!
Beautiful and so true! I also found it really motivating!

Go Stefano! We're all psyched to see you having a go, regardless of the result
Legend 🔥

Great video
This showing how important is patience on this hard routes.Showing how many times you must invest your time on this climbs. This is the parts , your trainings , time from your partners .
Good luck on this route
Awesome video!
So inspiring
Genius! Great climbing, great content, and the movie itself is so tasteful
This was beautiful and inspirational.
Ready to send!!! Thumbs up! You‘ll make it! 😊
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing your failures. It’s just an inevitable part of the sport. Inspiring throughout the whole video!
Great video very inspiring , if is anyone that will repeat both this routes it is you !
Siamo con te Stefano...hasta el final,,, sea lo che sea,,,,
Great video Stefano! Really enjoy how you approach a project.
Excellent video - thanks for exposing this difficult but important aspect of the journey to find the limit
Sara is amazing. You both are fun to watch.
What a great video. Struggle is the inevitable part of the success!
Great film
Wonderful and moving video - a very special creation....
Magnifique
Now you're ready to suceed. Good luck from Cuba 🇨🇺!
Amazing footage...
When you push your limit, failure it is 99% of the time of the climbing and success only about 1%.
Lovely how they tell each other to die. So much banter...
Good on ya buddy 🤙 folks need to see failures to appreciate successes. It’s not all rainbows and unicorns, and what you’re attempting is damn hard. Keep it up my friend.
Amazing effort! GG Stefano, one day. Thanks, helps a lot!
Stupendo
Keep it up Stephano! We believe in you :)
one of the hardest things to learn about bouldering definitely must be brushing the holds. i spent my first 25 years of bouldering brushing holds the wrong way until Nalle came up and told me that i was using the brush upside down...
WOW! 🤩
First attempt I’m Learning! 👊 Superb video and ATB for the future😀
Like Michael Jordan said 'I've failed over and over and over in my life. And that is why I succeed' the struggle makes that success so much sweeter.
Wild beta on the Silence crux! Keep it up man! You'll get there!
Thanks a lot for such an incredible video! As a climber though, I really would like to have more precise information regarding how you work on such hard projects. For instance, how many tries per day (approximately)? How many hours do you spend in the cave per day/session? You said it was cold: how much?
Another aspect of your journey there is training: how do you "maintain" your shape in those periods? Is trying hard the route/boulder "enough" or do you complement your attempts with some off-the-wall workouts? etc...
Those details are often overlooked and yet I think they could be very interesting, relevant and immersing 🙏
"if I'm to find my limit, then I must embrace failure."
My project-project I've tried over 100, maybe 200 times. Still haven't made it. Stil loving it.
Also love the auto subtitles around 4:40 - "yes come come come come die come on!"
ahaha funny prospective! But it's not "Die", it's "Dai" and it means "come one" :)
buenisimoooo
You will do your projects one day, I am sure. Failure in this case is just a step on the way!!!
Props to the camera takes
Madonna Stefano che gasoooooooo
The first video that shows how insanely difficult Silence is.
Such a humble guy and a real inspiration. Hope I could be half the climber that this guy is. New vid on my channel.
Stephano I know you can do it man, NO TE RINDAS!
You and your team are doing such quality videos.
What camera are you guys using? looks amazing
Hey Julio, thanks for that, we really appreciate it!
Talking about the camera, we mainly shooted this film with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4k; some shoots are done also with Sony a7iiis 🤙
@@CrimpFilms Thank you guys, hope you continue creating more amazing films like this! Best!
sad to see the forest being wiped out.
