Jack Horner is such a perfect criticism of Disney as a company, grabbing up magical things and using them to just get more powerful
Dang, you win. 👏👏thats a good comment right there
Holy.... I never thought of him being a representation of Disney itself. That's genius and makes perfect sense. Especially placing him in the Shrekverse which to my knowledge/memory Shrek itself was made to poke fun at Disney in a lot of ways. Making horner like the Disney franchise as a whole and how they are and have been as of late is perfect and explains why his character is the way he is 💯
this movie(puss in buts 2) really roast disney, at the end there is scene where puss is laughing at we stay for post credits (MCU)
and jack hormer's products are everywhere(one of first scene at party of puss in firsts minuts of movie) just like disney's products are everywhere
and jack is intresting in power just like disney in money (money=power)
That's a take and a half. 😳 And you're 100% on the money
@@moro3475 Wow, I didn't know Dreamworks were that self-aware before. Anyway, keep on kmocking Disney, Dreamworks. You guys deserved to be praised for that.
The thing I like about Dreamworks is, when they really want to be, they can be ballsy, drop adult jokes in kids movies, deal with dark themes if they must, and in the end of the day, they are the real deal, while Disney most of the time is too obsessed with their family friendly image to even acknowledge that adult themes exist.
Disney is too obsessed with propagandizing kids into growing up into bug-eating, pod-dwelling, self-mutilating brainlets.
@@Zorro9129 I'm pretty sure we're talking about two different things here, and considering you used the word "propagandizing" and "self-mutilating", I probably should just ignore any further comments from ya.

Once, a wise RUclipsr said:
*"Why does Disney make movies? To make money. Why does DreamWorks make movies? To present art! (Also to make money, but mainly to make art)"*
That actually sounds weirdly like a quote from Walt Disney. He was asked at one point why he bothered so much with animation given that each film would be expensive enough to make it a gamble. Walt replied, "I don't make pictures to make money. I make money so I can make more pictures."
@@adamantiiispencespence4012 Unfortunately, Disney seems to have flipped that quote nowadays.
@@natperXD When Walt Died, Roy E Disney and Frank Wells took over as President and vice president of Disney. The problem is that Frank Wells died in the 90's while Roy E Disney died in 2009. Without them, Disney higher ups no longer have a moral compass.
Don’t mix Pixar with Disney. Less you forget, Encanto was less than 2 years ago, which was amazing, and their last movie was strange world, which was bad. Disney animation is doing just fine
As a kid I’ve always liked DreamWorks more than Disney and Pixar, and still do. I just find most of their movies more funny and have more interesting characters, and they definitely know how to make a sequel without ruining the first film.

Not to mention that DreamWorks' got some of the BEST and iconic soundtracks EVER made, especially for animated films. The moment you hear composers such as Hans Zimmer and John Powell you just KNOW that it's going to be an absolute cinematic masterpiece

The fact that Powell only has one Oscar nomination is nothing short of infuriating.

Dreamworks will forever be my favourite for the fact that I had such an emotional attachment to the How To Train Your Dragon series. The story of Hiccup and Toothless was something that was so deep and memorable.
I had grown up in a Christian household and I remember when my mom put The Prince of Egypt and I fell in love with it. Then I watched Shrek, Madagascar, Megamind, and Fu Panda. I was so motivated. @@pullimau8555 not really, another reason for their fail is with how they advertised their movies. I don't even know anything about strange world. But same, i do miss the old 2D animations since their 3D starting to look kinda bland for me.
Master Oogway is probably my most favourite protagonist in the entire animated movies. His wisdom, his quotes, and his moments is just always blew me away. He is old and full of experience but he never sounds boring. And he can be a badass too when he fought Kai.
Puss for me was S tier it was dam near perfect... they covered so much themes like family, trust, love, anxiety, death, evil, Optimism, pain, strength and appreciation for life and it wraps it up in a perfect bow. Not a single character wasted not a single place overstayed it's welcome it was.... PERFECT
I’ve come to realize dreamworks made up my childhood more. Since I loved HTTYD and Kung Fu Panda
Yeah, same. Don't get me wrong Disney has made some bangers in the past but How to Train Your Dragon alone has had such a big impact on me and that's before you throw in other films like Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, and other Dreamworks films.
Two of their best trilogies
I used to always watch the croods or king fu panda when I was having a long car journey when I was a kid

They always have been a better company even in terms of morality
They aren't dirty ad Disney, At least not That dirty
I always enjoyed Dreamworks better than Disney for basically all of the reasons you presented.
They (DW) just build more detail into their characters and focus more on creating meaningful plots instead of spitting out movies as fast as they can with half-cooked ideas and characters.
Dreamworks also just seems to work more for passion over profit.
The HTTYD franchise is also the greatest trilogy imo, so maybe I’m biased lol

Although,, I do agree Dreamworks is doing way better recently with their movies,, I love Disney way more for the older movies and magical aesthetic. I love Dreamworks a lot as well especially considering they’ve gotten better at making movies, but I can’t say it’s that nostalgic to me because I’ve not watched much movies by them in my childhood.
It’s hard to explain..
Honestly I can kind of relate, though I have to say I lean more to both when it comes to nostalgia 😅
Yea i like past Disney i despise modern Disney

@@Gamertag3608 I like Dreamworks but it was not like... Stuck with me if that makes sense..
It has good movies especially recently, but honestly the 2D Disney is a work of art and beats anything Dreamworks has ever made, imo.. Dreamworks has made 2D movies but they've only made a few from what I remember..
Some of the CGI Disney films are good too.. But the 2D ones are so beautiful.
And I have quite a huge interest with the amusement park despite them kinda screwing it up.. I have a ton of memories from that place. It really left an impact on me if that's the right word.
I used to be blind and ignored how many impact DreamWork movies actually impacted my life. SImply because I was blinded by the big name of Disney, but as I grew up, I'm starting to realize how great DreamWorks films are. Honestly ever since the Disney renaissance ended, I feel that dream works has been taking Disney to the cleaners
And then Pixar to the cleaners too by around 2008, but just barely that year, then maybe a wee bit more into the following decade
Almost completely unrelated, but you watch the LEGO stop motion short film by Mindgame Studios, “The Cleaners”. It’s just a good movie.
I liked Disney before but Disney is just making things worse. Make horrible and they're just shitting on movies and characters that I care about.
After puss and boots the last wish, I was completely surprised how amazing the movie is. Then I started watching DreamWork movies, it made me love cartoons again. I'm 19 and I'm watching DreamWorks films again and how appreciate how there films are.
Well you can blame that on bob chapek but I think Disney will do better than they did before because we have bob iger.

I see Disney as two separate companies. The renaissance era and modern era.
Same here I’m also 19
Disney is able to make good movies once in a while, but it's definitely a lot rarer than is used to be. The hand drawn animations were Disney's golden era, in my opinion
What do you mean bro 99% of the Disney movies last decade were masterpieces

Dreamworks is all about Creativity and doing something new.
What about Puss In Boots The Last Wish? I love the movie, but there are fairytales there too!

Dreamworks may have had some flops we don’t talk about, but when they want to, they DELIVER
For me, the DreamWorks film that connects deep to my soul, is how to train your dragon, I related to, understood, loved, enjoyed, and connected to that movie in a way no other movie has ever achieved or will ever, it was simply magical, perfect, down to every, last, little, detail, the animation, story, characters, world, just felt... Real to me I related to hiccup so much, a outcast who didn't really have friends, everyone else saw as wierd and weak, a failure, then I found friends in a cat, funny enough I also got the cats affection by holding my hand out and waiting for him to approach me, he was a bit like toothless too, named him jinx, sadly he passed away 4 years ago, he was an oldy, atleast 12 years old, wish I could go back and watch HTTYD for the first time again, it was simply magical
Honestly, I feel like both Disney and Dreamworks can really make great movies when they TRY. Take Encanto from 2021, which is still one of my favourite Disney movies, and the new Puss In Boots movie, being my 2nd favourite Dreamworks movie. It also shows when they don't try, like, Pocahontas and Shrek The Third.
Dream works has to try more because they are smaller

I think what make dreamworks better is despite putting more time in realising said movies, the difference falls in quality vs quantity, dreamworks probably learn from there mistakes then Disney knowing that despite having lest quantity they put more quality into there films which is the difference between winning an actual fanbase.
DreamWorks is extremely unpredictable and that's what i love about them. You either expect a massive cash grab movie or a great movie, there's no in between. For all Shark Tale, you also get Kung Fu Panda, for all Boss Baby, you also get Puss In Boots
Disney is NOT less quantity than DreamWorks they produce double the movies every year than DW. And....the quality isn't better either. Disney hasn't been good since Wreck it Ralph 2....and that was just ok
This 100 minute film is better than all of Disney's films from the past 4 years
That scene about Thor's panic attack; I think it was handled well, in that it was handled badly. Most, if not all of these heroes, have never had to deal with psychological issues before, especially PTSD. He dealt with it in the way they would've back in the 50s, which lines up pretty well to how his character is. The attack itself was handled badly, seeing as it wasn't actually handled, but it makes sense with regards to the characters involved.
Still endgame was final good movie of marvel Disney
I've always preferred Dreamworks over Disney. But I have to admit that Renaissance Disney stands a great chance, but that era is long gone.
I enjoy both, but if i had to tell why I still love disney, I'd say that I love it more for it's past and not for it's present, while I love dreamworks for the glow up it's showing since The Bad Guys.
But we can all agree in something: Both are better than Illumination

Dreamworks finally brought us the captain underpants movie! It was so faithfully adopted from the book series I loved growing up as a kid. My all time favourite according. Looking forward to the eventual dogman movie whenever it does come out.
Idk I think Disney still had great characters. Like Milan, simba, Tarzan, the beast, Hercules, Aladdin. And these still have their struggles attached to it
I totally agree. Mulan is one of my favorite Disney characters. I was just mentioning the modern Disney characters since, as of recently, Disney has been lacking, but I do genuinely like both and think that each does have great characters.
Old Disney is amazing. Now they care about money more than the movie itself. The characters lack depth and the storylines are just boring
Disney didn't start upping their game until Don Bluth beat them out twice in the 80s.
Ah yes, Milan. The best Milan to ever Milan
These characters are from movies made in the 1990’s. Disney was indeed great 20 years ago, but now it has turned i to a woke trash
2022 was definitely Dreamworks’ year
The earrape was a bit excessive... I had the volume way up, since your voice is a bit low volume.
With that out of the way- great vid! I definitely agree with most points, especially about Dreamwork's very uneven movie quality. It's admirable that the have so much misses some times, but still keep trying and put their best effort to improve and move on.
same
I’ve said this even before Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, but Disney can tell pretty good stories at times but they just don’t tug on your heartstrings quite like DreamWorks
I always think I had a bias for Dreamworks movies. The movies move me more, and make me the happiest. Sure, some parts of Disney’s company is good, but it feels like they’re putting out safe cash grabs and marketing. Dreamworks, with the release of my new favorite movie Puss in Boots The Last Wish has finally shown me how much better they are. I love their company from the bottom of my heart, and I hope they continue to do great things.
Me Too Man! DreamWorks Animation Is Better And Always Better Than Disney To Be Honest.
Yeah I can't help but get the impression Disney is putting on a mask the whole time. Just doesn't feel legit
Is it really safe if they've just been bombing these past few years?
I feel that whenever disney hits a slump is when dreamworks hits a peak. Dreamworks has hit a renaissance between the bad guys and puss in boots 2. Modern disney has been mediocre for several years and has been riding off of their success for the past decade without really innovating in terms of storytelling or animation. Dreamworks pushed the boundaries in terms of story, character writing and specifically animation.
I think DreamWorks is more free to try different things. They’re free to be a little bit more experimental, whereas Disney is under more constraints
Dreamworks just makes more interesting stuff overtime. They're not afraid to add in crude qualities to their film and go to directions that might seem like a deviation from their brand. Disney always want to feel like their peak films so it feels samey.
I respect Disney massively they kickstarted animation and paved the way forward. But for me, DreamWorks was who I grew up with more.
So DreamWorks takes the cake for me.
Dreamworks literally makes Dreams WORK, and goddamn when they do, it’s a once in a lifetime experience…..
Dreamworks tends to always make really good, and I mean really good plots that just overall support what the main portion of the movie wants to be and what it wants to do with its characters. The villains especially they always nail, there isn’t a single one I remember watching and thinking, “wow, this is boring”
I'm just wondering, why did people want to see Strange World more than Puss in Boots 2?
Because they don't understand. Strange World has more representation of LGBTQ and nationalities than plot while Puss in Boots The Last Wish has action, actual funny humor, morals, antagonists, characters, plot and animation! Also people want to watch Strange World because it has LGBTQ that's why.
@@cupheadfan2011 isn't the LGBT stuff the reason why Disney barely marketed strange world?
@@SEGbruhproductions I don't know that.
@@cupheadfan2011 it's a theory but I think it's why Disney barely marketed the movie

I think both have their high highs and low lows. I just feel like at the high end Dreamworks has definitely more bangers and it also feels like they have more enjoyable stories, unique approaches and especially well crafted characters.
I've liked both growing up, but I've definitely enjoyed Dreamworks movies a lot more, especially now in adulthood. Disney sometimes feels too traditional and stereotypical if you look at the majority of tropes it has set up in pop culture, while Dreamworks liked to be more whimsical and break those molds in ways that adults could enjoy and stand the test of time. Many Disney movies do not hold up, but Dreamworks' do
It is always good to put some adult stuff in Kids movies and I don’t know much about “stereotypical”(have you watched Cobra Kai or Yellowstone) but sometimes being traditional isn’t always all that bad(unlike the new Disney staff of today and their work morals I still love Jessica Rabbit and always will)
@@tymotekaitis3872 yeee it's not bad always being traditional, it's just that Disney has had a weird history with some tropes around the way their female characters are presented(not only that tho, there had been many controversies around race in relatively modern Disney movies), but that's a whole different issue in general that I feel like has a lot of layers
Hence why South Park exists to lampoon all that “woke stuff” especially with their new Paramount+ film South Park: Joining The Panderverse that just recently watched and it’s hilarious🤩🤠
@@tymotekaitis3872 I haven't really watched it
Lately Disney CEO doesn't seem to care about animation, canceling series, doing bad live action movies, and mostly they care about the money. The animator deserve better.
If there’s going to be a Shrek 5, I hope they create a villain similar to Bob Iger so the movie can roast him to death.
All of what Disney is doing does not bring in the money.
Money and pushing the new ideology Disney is mainlining.
@@hariman7727 Money is worth nothing if it means abandoning everything that made the company great in the first place.
@@victorhernandez8723 I would love that very much. At times like this, I feel like apologizing to DreamWorks or any of the Shrek characters for all those times I felt resentment towards them for a personal attack on Disney, but with what's going on now, I don't feel that way anymore and wish to see what their new plans would be for Shrek, even though I thought the franchise was finished after the 4th one.
I always preferred Disney to dreamworks as a kid, however in the last couple of months after I watched the new puss in boots movie I decided to re watch all classic dreamworks films and it immediately made me change my mind. I just enjoyed myself alot more watching them. I still think inside out and COCO are awesome especially COCO but with those exceptions dreamworks is superior given the current year of releases, The Bad Guys / Puss in Boots the last wish.
for every bad or mediocre movie DreamWorks make, they make one of my favorite animated movies out there, their ratio is almost 1:1 in terms of good and bad. But the thing is, when they make a good movie, IT IS GOOOD. I'm talking one of the best animated Hollywood movies, level good. Franchises like Shrek, How to train your dragon, and my personally beloved Kung fu panda, are some of my favorite franchises out there. Also I feel like DreamWorks just takes their movies seriously, when they need to be serious and mature, they are. Great examples for this is the Pusses panic attack, Po finding inner peace, Shrek accepting who he is, Hiccup letting go and saying his final goodbyes to his very best friend Toothless, knowing they both have to go their own ways. Those are just I few examples I could come up with on a spot, there is many more. I just honestly love the maturity DreamWorks brings to the table, heck an animated movie about a fairy tail cat, takes it characters more seriously than a movie who deals with war, genocide, depression and other incredibly heavy topics, yet they never feel heavy at all. I am also incredibly biased, cause DreamWorks made some of my favorite animated franchises, and Disney, especially in recent years, just tarnished so many beloved IPs and produced mediocre crap for profits, there's no passion, or at least I don't see any.
Over the course of the two companies' histories you could probably make a solid case for either one as a whole. Judging solely off recent events tho? Dreamworks, hands down.
I honestly can’t say which I like more, dreamworks is far more inconsistent quality wise, but their good films are genuinely phenomenal, plus I like dreamworks humor more. So I can’t really say.
Me Too!
2:35- I HALF CHEERED AT THAT!!!
Also, please talk about something King Kong related this year. April 7th celebrates the big guy’s 90th anniversary and I really don’t want to be the only one I know to be celebrating it
Big monkey got it. But I have been wanting to talk about the 2005 Peter Jackson movie so I'll probably do a video on that in the future.
@@MyNameisCameron Now is a really good time to do so. Anything King Kong related would be great.
Also, I recently rewatched the '05 movie. I would forgive anyone who doesn't believe that that film was made in 2005.
Personally I think when it comes to Disney, I’m more of a Pixar fan than a Walt Disney Animation fan (they still have some bangers, but I grew up with Pixar), so I guess I prefer Dreamworks. They do have some undisputed bangers tho, from great series like Shrek, HTTYD, and Kung Fu Panda, to memorable one-offs like Megamind, Over the Hedge and Bee Movie. Even their bad movies like Shark Tale are pretty funny to watch imo
How to train your dragon still makes me tear up. The last wish was visually beautiful and took a more serious approach to puss and it worked amazingly. Even rise of the guardians is pumped full of amazing characters
I mean, I like Disney and Pixar, Pixar more than Disney though. But Dreamworks is just pure gold, man.
Dreamworks film like Puss in Boots and the How To Train Your Dragon will always have a special place on my heart.
i remember once i was a kid, me and my mom would go to this really huge mall annd watched httyd together, that mall became my favorite mall.
i really hope in this "Golden Age" of DreamWorks would change their minds and create another Httyd film.
I think dreamworks got slapped on the face when they created the httyd series (Httyd 9 realms) and i think they learned from their mistake and you know improve ALOT since then.
Im really excited for Dreamwork's Future!
We have received the most amazing stuff from Dreamworks. Not all masterpieces of course but those that were, ie The Prince of Egypt to now Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. (Not comparing the 2) I for one can't wait to see how they keep evolving.
2:16 well dreamworks isn’t evil like Disney so lol Also the Ian Malcom scene can apply to Jurassic World movies. Well at least the last two
My opinion on DreamWorks compared to say, Pixar is that they have higher highs but also lower lows. They often take a lot more risks, while Disney and Pixar tend to play things a bit safer and while they are more consistent, it has a habit of making things fairly samey.
DreamWorks has HTTYD, Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, the Bad Guys, and most recently, The Last Wish, but it also has Boss Baby, Shark Tale, Shrek the Third, Turbo, and Bee Movie.
True!
Honestly, I kind of understood Ralph's reason to be clingy. As a 'bad guy' he never really had friends, especially among the people in his own freaking game. Vanellope was his first friend, so when she decided to broaden her horizons, he was legit scared that she would abandon him and he would be friendless all over again
the film had a good idea but TERRIBLE execution
I agree
I AGREE WITH YOU 100%
Dreamworks likes to take risks. And with that risk, comes so many bad movies.
But OHHHH MANNN when that risk WORKS, we get a movie that is 900000 times better than any Disney movie could ever do.
The thing is characters vs story means alot because with the right characters you can put a few of them in a room and wacth for hours throughly entertained
A few examples I can think off the top of my head almost every character in megamind kungfu panda that one talking scene with all three signs in no way home (many fans favorite scene) or most slice of life shows.
But with a story driven movie the characters can be swapped out without issue modt of the time and after its over its over. Also character driven story's become iconic and memorable with the characters transcending the movie or show itself taking on a life of there own. (Puss and boots death megamind poe even batman in most of his animated series seeing him interact with the other heros is often the most interesting.
where as story's at least personally are more pick up and put down kind of entertainment.
Sorry I'm late, bit one of the best examples for having complex characters vs a simple story can be 12 Angry Men (195something). Highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
being a Dreamworks fan after all this time paid off. HELL YEAH!!!
Dreamworks could make an among us movie and give it a life lesson
Yeah, while Disney can be fun sometimes, dreamworks has always just been iconic to me. How to train your dragon and kung fu lands were my childhood, and once I started watching shrek I instantly fell in love with it as well. Then there was megamind, which I watched during the period where I was absolutely obsessed with superheroes. And it changed me. Everything about those movies(aside from shrek the third) gave me a rollercoaster of emotions that I wish I could revisit. Now, after watching bad guys and the last wish, I really think they’re back to making iconic movies.
I am still being a little cautious though, since this could just be luck. If kung fu panda 4 and shrek 5 are as good as the others, than that’ll confirm it
Short answer: yes
Long answer: hell yes
Dream work either produces absolute master pieces or mediocre stuff nothing in between but disney is consistently pumping out inoffensive decent/meh stuff. My favorite stuff are mostly from DreamWorks but I wouldn't say it's simply better.
how did this go from dreamworks vs disney to "you matter"
I grew up with Disney movies, I didn't even know about DreamWorks until I was like 7, when I watched shrek for the first time, I've come to realize as I grew up that what I liked about Disney movies were the pretty colors, and the visual jokes thrown here and there, DreamWorks still have these aspects, but I can actually still enjoy their animated movies to this day, I still love old Disney animated movies, since they were a big part of my childhood, hell, the lion king has and will always be one of my favorite movies of all time, now comparing both Disney and DreamWorks as of right now, Disney has just lost me, the magic isn't there anymore, it's gone, it has been replaced by a soulless greedy company, I'm not saying DreamWorks is perfect either, but just judging by their latest puss in boots movie, you can actually tell they still put passion on their projects, and are still able to tell stories we the people want to hear, I'm honestly just tired of movies/shows relying so heavily in nostalgia bait and trying to always be pc, that's mainly the reason I'm able to enjoy movies such as into the spider verse, and I honestly hope to see more movies like it in the future, because animated movies aren't only for children, you can make it appealing to them while making it enjoyable for adults as well, such is the case of the puss in boots sequel, which has become one of my favorite movies, said movie was a step on the right direction, I hope DreamWorks keep walking towards that path.
Dreamworks made better movies in the past 15 years than any disney movie has
DreamWorks has always been better
Shrek 1/2 and Megamind are their ultimate masterpieces and Puss n Boots 2 was awesome
Megamind is the hype shit man and.ima.glad no sequel for it because could be better or ruin
My favorite Dreamworks Animated Film is The Prince of Egypt. My favorite Disney Animated Film is The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Everyone: “True! DreamWorks movies are definitely more emotional and well written than Disney Movies.”
That One Guy: “What about Boss Baby?”
Everyone: *”We don’t talk about that one.”*
That Other Guy: “What about Boss Baby 2-“
Everyone: *”We don’t talk about that one either!”*
Boss baby was good
@@MISSWHAT-lp5om **loads gun** I’m sorry… what did you say?
@@huntercool2232 yeah honestly i loved the movie
Dreamworks has always been better
Your video has now given me the overwhelming urge to re-watch kung fu panda. Movie night time.
I think Disney’s peaks are a lot higher than dreamworks, but dreamworks especially recently has been more consistently great and I think it really appeals to a lot of us more as we mature into adults. Or at least that’s how it’s worked for me.
Bro that squeak from the toy in shrek made me kinda tear up ngl
I hate that they massacred ma boi ralph in the sequel. He was a mature and heroic guy in the first movie! They turned him into a clingy man-baby and for what? For disney princesses to interact with each other?
It would've only been cool if the Disney princesses were just cameos. Well any of the known Disney characters.
Well let's hope elemental is good
And wish
We can only hope 🙏🙏🙏
Honestly just Shrek itself outweighs everything.
It entertains children and adults.
My dad would chuckle at something I didn't understand.
Now rewatching it as an adult is nostalgic yet also fresh.
I've seen the title and before even watching the vid, the astronaut meme popped into my head: "It always has been"
Anyway, in regards to the video, I think maybe that explains why Mulan and Lilo and Stitch are my favorite Disney movies. Mulan is such an incredibly strong character who has her own journey to find out who she is, and the effect she has on others. Lilo & Stitch is a character drama that explores the relationships between very, very troubled characters. We can all relate to not feeling like we fit in, or that we're not good enough. They earned their happily ever afters through learning to push through their difficulty.
Not to say other Disney movies are bad, but I think that's why I resonate with them so much.
Also just as a little sidenote:
Personally? I prefer most of Dreamworks' BAD movies to Disney's bad movies.
Like maybe not the original Boss Baby. But I actually got a lot of enjoyment out of Boss Baby 2. Did I get any enjoyment out of Ralph Breaks the Internet? No. None whatsoever. Idk what the consensus on The Croods 2 is, but I enjoyed that as well. I'd maybe even rather watch Home. I used to love Home when I was younger and the more times I see it, the more I find it boring and grating, but I still prefer it over Disney & Pixar's recent bad films and sequels... maybe.

Dreamworks was going to have a Plants vs. Zombies movie so yes they are... they also seem way less greedy than Disney
i wish
Dreamworks is by far my favorite over Disney. Yes, quite a few of their movies are not the best, but their best is like being hit by a train of emotions. Httyd, Kung fu Panda, Prince of Egypt, Shrek. These are my favorite movies of all time. These are the movies I constantly go back to watch, as well as have their themes and messages stick, whether it be Hiccups journey growing up, or Po becoming the greatest king fu master despite what people think of him.
I remember watching Kung-fu panda 2 for the first time when I was a kid and man that hole movie is gold but that ending hit different it changed me made me feel something I never felt before
I was 12
As I've gotten older I've grown to prefer Dreamworks more then Disney, for me Disney in recent years they have been focusing on quantity over quality, I'm not saying that all their recent films are bad (Encanto in my opinion is one of Disney best films) but the mediocre and bad are outwaying the good
Dreamworks meanwhile yeah can release a meh movie from time to time, they also release films that have great comedy but also aren't afraid or telling mature or even dark stories. Kung-fu panda 2 and the Prince of Egypt are good examples, both films can have a sense of humor but they also know when to take it seriously and are not afraid to get dark
Dreamworks are not afraid of taking risks while Disney seems to be scared of doing
Yeah but disneys only released 3 movies in the past 3 years. They also released I think 8 in the last decade and all of them were incredible except for Ralph breaks the internet and frozen 2
I grew up with DreamWorks and I hope DreamWorks is coming back on top with their movies.
I don't really know what to say except "What a great video!" Seriously I thought this video was very well put together with the music, the clips he showed and even the order of the thing he said. So good.
10:42 I think one of its main themes was being thankful for what you have, as your greatest wish could be something you already have.
I mean Dreamworks created the greatest memes ever…
Shrek is the best one
@@kaloz429mobile9 Shrek is love…
Shrek is life…
I also remember when Frozen 2 came out. It was really popular but my friends who are posting are not really talking about the movie's plot. Just the song and how beautiful Elsa was lol
Frozen 2 is one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. The entire film feels like it's just dragging on and on. Just look at how forced and stiff the sisters' interactions are.
Actually, HTTYD is my all-time favorite. I'm a kid with a disability, and pursuing a Graphic Design with just one hand has been tough (People still think Art is a striving career). HTTYD is my comfort show, and Hiccup and Toothless are my role model
I will always be a DreamWorks kid.Thank you DreamWorks, for always taking risks in making new stories whether you fail or not. And thanks for your new style of animation that is beautiful. I will love you for many more things, just like when you brought the "HTTYD" movie and series into my life. I always knew that one day you would rise from the dead and defeat the mouse. I couldn't be more proud than now.
Old Disney>old dreamworks
New Disney
Disney: yeah we don't do good villains anymore, just lame twists or generational trauma :)
Dreamworks: what if we put like 3 villain stories in this one movie!?!? And what if we made an entire movie JUST about the bad guys!?!??? And they're both good movies!?!?????
I grew up with mostly Dreamworks than Disney. To me, Dream works has more creative ideas, and the incredible different animations they have for each movie. Disney has used similar animations for 3 different movies. Turning Red, Luca, and the upcoming Disney movie called Elio. To me they all have the same character design meanwhile Dreamworks has unlimited character designs for each new adaption.
Goddamn for someone who's never seen a video from this channel before, this one touched me. Thank you for all your hard work and what a message. Deserves more than just my sub.
aside from the obvious classics like jungle book, aladdin, lion king etc, i think looking back i always did tend to prefer dreamworks movies as a kid, they always just felt smarter, i recently watched madagascar on a flight and realised just how much of the dialogue i hadn’t understood as a kid, despite it being one of my childhood favourites 😂😂same with the shreks
Disney would be dead if pixar didn't exist
