  • A mixture of engaging stories with accessible popular science about the human body, this revealing insight into some of the world’s smallest people, including primordial dwarf He Ping Ping, the world’s shortest man who weighs the same as an average one year old, and Britain's shortest man Michael Henbury, whose young son towers above him. Explaining what effect their height has on their health and what challenges these extraordinary people face when it comes to finding work, love and happiness, the programme candidly reveals what life is like from their unique perspective, and their attempts to find happiness and acceptance in a world that often treats them as freaks.

Linda, I was thinking the same. Tanya’s husband and Michael’s wife (and his mom and son) are so supportive and have given them “Normal” lives. Many ppl born with disabilities don’t think they can have that. It is very difficult to see ones spouse suffer numerous surgeries and pain due to their medical conditions. It take a very strong person with deep love and integrity. Tanya even said she didn’t think she deserved him, and that he was very patient. That is a common feeling expressed from people that have to ask for a lot of assistance from their families. They feel like they are a lot of trouble. But Michael’s wife and son and his mom, and Tanya’s husband, have what it takes to give unselfishly. I agree, may God bless them all.

I have a condition that causes me to use a wheelchair. I have a few injuries every day so I'm in a constant state of injury. Mostly I get dislocations. I can usually walk a little but it's painful and agitates my injuries which Is why I need my chair to get around.
I was on a bus once when a little girl pointed me out to her Mum. The Mum kept trying to keep her quiet but the girl kept asking her questions. The Mum looked mortified.
I told the little girl why I use a wheelchair and her family joined in the conversation.
Just before I got off of the bus, I told the Mum that curiosity is fine.
As I'm heading out of the door, she said something that made me respond with 'well I can actually walk anyway'. The entire family's faces went into shock. The doors closed and I just had to leave it at that :')

In middle school there was a girl who was a little person, she was 1 year older than her classmates, she used to hang out with the cool kids and prettiest girls in school and she always had a cool boyfriend. I was taller than all the other girls in my class because I grew really fast, I was super selfconscious and I couldn't get a single date...so I really looked up to her ;-)

He was really strong, he had all kinds of state weightlifting records because he was small and lightweight, but really muscular so he could lift these crazy amounts. He played football, too, he would play if we were far ahead, everyone would cheer like crazy when he ran out.

People should learn to embrace and accept others for who they are even though they may look different no matter your height, the type of hair you have, your clothes, if you're thin or overweight or the color of your skin or even your disability or handicap we should accept each other and make them welcomed into society.

I'm 5ft 2, a woman, and got smart comments from 2 different nurses in hospital recently who just couldn't resist it.
You wonder what grips people to blurt stuff out. I have a 6ft son and they probably think how did that happen haha. I have had smart comments all my life... e g. "You are so small but have a pretty face" . Yeah ok. I could have said 'you need to diet' which one did and to the other you are less than 1 to 2 inches taller than me, but I am polite to people. I am an oldie and it has never stopped. I had untold boyfriend's practically lining up and some interested in me in my late 50s too half my age and beyond handsome ..but no. I don't know what the fixation with my height is. Absolutely 9 out of 10 have something to say about it.
