Pippa the Biking Dog is Cycling's Cutest Rider

Avid cyclist Todd Steigerwalt’s one stipulation when his now-wife Christen wanted a dog was that he wanted one small enough he could ride with. This is how they found their newest family member-and Todd’s newest riding companion, a 3-year-old, 10-pound rescue Schnoodle (a cross between a schnauzer and a poodle) named Pippa (@pippaofpiedmont).

I hate to say it but I will. I hope there was some kind of restraining belt on her when you guys let her hang out the car window like that. I love my dogs to a fault so I'm always thinking of their safety and what could happen if.......... She is so cute and it's awesome that you take her cycling. We have Scottish Terriers and we take them cycling as well but since they are small but extremely heavy dogs we use milk crates, and attach them with the extra thick zip ties and then use a strong nylon belt loop it and attach to their harness.

oxfords1 thank you for caring. I had a friend that lost their dog because they jumped out of a moving car. In the back pack there is a D-ring and that attaches to her collar. In the car she wears a harness 100% of the time and is somehow tethered in or being held if there is someone in the passenger seat. Be careful with the milk crate. I would assume that would act like a roll cage in anything were to happen.

Todd Stagscyclist oh wow that’s terrible I should look into that. My chihuahua loves to have his arms outside the window and I’m constantly having to hold onto him by the leash so he can enjoy himself. My condolences for your friend😓

Great system with the milk crate. I’ll add that to the bike with a harness strap for my 20 pound schnouzer jrt. Looks like it would be more comfortable too as they have their head out and can lay down. Also allows for carrying the weight lower
