Brooke unknowingly double bluffing her way to victory with the jawbone clue is one of the best moments of the year and all of NRB.
We can't overlook Adam's contribution. If he wasn't so scared and tried to silence Brooke, I think the Odd Throuple would have just dismissed it out of hand.
Brooke, did some impressive mental gymnastics and she won, with her Underdog Ariel and Sully’s lover in the horse to boot.

It was the tone of “I am sick of this woman with her jet lagged misremembering and assorted nonsense”. It broke me.
There's so much in Brooke's claim to be annoyed at that having such a matter-of-fact rebuttal is excellent.
Brooke saying "The Little Mermaid was an underdog" and Sully replying with "She's a princess" had major "WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST, BRO!" parallels to it. One of the best NRB moments for sure -

The seriousness with which Sully said “She’s a princess” was so damn funny to me. It was a mix of a logical “oh come on brook she isn’t an underdog” and yet also sounding like a 11 year old girl getting defensive about her favourite Disney princess 😂
Brooke sounded more like an eleven year old. Sully sounded more like "aren't you supposed to be a thinking rational adult?"

It is really throwing me that only Brooke has heard the term "semi-sweet" before. Pretty much any adjective with semi- before it is going to constitute a valid hyphenated word and I would think that semi-sweet would be in the running for the most commonly used example. (Well, I'm American, so it would probably be "semi-automatic" in my area, but semi-sweet has to be pretty high on the list.)

It's because that word isn't really used in britain. Most british people won't know it, or only know it as an american thing.

@@Ivy3h I mean, as an American, I've never heard the term, nor has anyone else I know except for my older mother. It seems likely, according to all the etymological sources i can find, that it was a term that existed around the same time in both Britain and the US.
With how roadmanlike Adam looks in his current getup I'm absolutely blown away by the fact that Sully of all people is the only person to know about drill in this group.

47:17 I once DMd a campaign of d&d where the party had an npc called Braham the Equitaur, a child born of two centaurs that just ended up two halfs horse. He had human level intelligence, could speak common, and was technically a level 3 fighter when he met the party. Still one of my favorite role playing memories.
So the table's vibe this week is:
1) Tilly and Tom trying to not stress out Sully too much.
2) Brooke and Laurie trying to make Adam's head explode.
I love that when "Create" was a clue, Sullivan who's other half is an artist didn't think "brush" even slightly
So funny watching Adam's soul leave his body with the "rocket" clue and everyone's responses 😀. Blasting off again!

If you ever get more people for House Rules, you can play Codenames with three teams, someone playing the bystanders and always going last. It's an interesting way to play and really crammed with each miss giving another team a point.

It killed me how Sully and Tom completely dismissed “web” as having any connection to “derelict” and started talking about abandoned oil rigs in particular rather than what I feel is one of the most universal indicators of “long-time abandonment and disuse” unless you’re somewhere like Antarctica.

Laurie is correct in thinking that "Danger Force" is a show. It's a teen sitcom from Nickelodeon. I do, however, strongly doubt that he knew that.
Well timed for me, this one. Had an absolutely rotten day, it's 2 am, I can't sleep, am incredibly nervous about real life stuff, and I need a video to take my mind off things. Thank you as usual, NRB.
Edit: this is one of the very few games I've actually played with friends (they just aren't that into board games, unfortunately). It's formed a lot of in jokes for our circle, and for that, I absolutely love this game.

I was playing Disney Codenames with a friend and he gave me the clue “Pantless”. I instantly locked in Donald Duck. Assassin.
It’s been years since this happened and I still haven’t forgiven him.
i had Remy and Rapunzel so I told my friend hair and he picked Remy, which is great, and then Pumba (bc Pumba has hair) FML. I've never let him live it down

I’m so happy to see Codenames return, this channel is one of the reasons I bought the game and now it’s my family’s favorite game to play on the weekends. Unfortunately, we were only able to play with 4 players so far because every time it’s just me, my grandparents and my mom but maybe at some point we’ll be able to play with more people.

I'm with Brooke on this one. Ariel is an underdog. Not in our terms, but in context. She's the youngest sibling, and the person telling her what to do is the King of all the sea. She tries to defy him, and goes to a witch who steals her voice. THEN she is the underdog. you really don't think she can win (in a day, IIRC), when she can't say anything at all.
Hey Adam, I have a great idea for another top 10 list: Top 10 best Board Game Mechanics. It's about niche and creative rules that make Board Games more enjoyable and set them apart from similar games.
Some examples would be for me the everyone gets to talk for 30 seconds uninterupted in Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, the catch up mechanic from Wavelength and the landing the plane phase from Hit the Silk.
The only thing I could think of after hearing "jawbone" is the werewolf from Fantasy High on Dimension 20

Had a horrible day at my job and all my current TTRPG campaigns are on hold. Good thing I have board games! I am going to check out a local game store for their board game night, and tomorrow I will see another shop for THEIR board game night. I am very excited and I have to thank NRB for giving me the courage to check them out
