WOW... what I like about him... His playing is soulful. There are plenty of guitarists out there that can play like greased lightning... but it's not just the speed, it's the tasteful notes that count and pouring yourself into it. Dude has the magic.
The solos he recorded and performed on Don Dokken's Up from the ashes album and live shows are amazing, look for them on here, also obviously Billy White's too
Hell yeah. The overall production of that album is so good and on top of that these insanely cool solos with a tone that we will probably chase for our whole lives and never achieve.
Paul likes John Norum's playing. That's enough for me. I always knew I wasn't wrong for more than 25 years now. John Norum of Europe, Reb Beach of Winger, Doug Aldrich of Hurricane, Andy Timmons of Danger Danger, Al Pitrelli, Gary Hoey, Alex Skolnick, Marc Diglio, Pete Lesperance, Sid Fletcher, Joey Allen, ...
I listen Jimi ,Gilmour and all great ones but this guy is not so famous but mann he have so great feeling he combines melody blues and shred i just listen him for 2 hours tracks from europe and solo albums I'm so blown away he is so unbelievable good my guitar hero number one because of him i started getting into guitar world and music
Exactly. Paul is a guitar maniac and astonishing artist BUT he will never play these notes from deep within the heart and soul like John. (and I'm a big fan of Gilbert!) :)
I think that both John and Paul clearly have feeling. I don't see how one has and one doesn't, I'd say that they both have different styles and different ways of expressing their feelings.
Brian Robertson of Thin Lizzy also the undisputed "Wah Master' John was channeling him a little here and John is an amazing player in his own right. Nothing wrong with showing your musical influences a bit. 😉
A stunning piece of music from a truly great guitar player. The music has a dark but gigantic scope and grandeur about it, like a bellowing cry from the unknown realm of the noumenon. The fact that it stands as a great piece of music independently of the soloing shows it's greatness. God bless John Norum. You are special. The god's must love you like we do on earth.
JOHN HORUM ❤is a great performer in his magical hands the guitar sings and cries!!!...🎸❤️🔥Emotions overwhelm!!❤❤❤Delight, LOVE,HAPPINESS!!!PREMIUM SOUND!!!!❤THE PERSON I ADMIRE!!!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🙏💖💋👍💘👏👏👏👏👏💥💥💥♥️
@@filippo_random_phil I think he means Kee Marcello who played in Europe. I'm not a fan of Europe and will never be, but I'd pick Norum before Marcello anyday of the week, easily.
他被低估,因為Europe 創作了好聽的:The final countdown. He was underrated because Europe write good listening song "the final countdown ". If they make strange and not logical music, sound bad, they will be highly rated.
As was said earlier I also hear gary Moore and shenker in john..He plays with alot of heart as did his influences..i always enjoy seeing a player who goes with emotions as opposed to technical wizardry. .i have to say I love aphasia awesome piece from his early days
I agree with murjanic1.. Gary was a tragic loss... JN is tasty just like Gary.. Style of you dont dont have to Shred all the time. It makes these guys richer in sound and soul.....
Paul indeed has a lot of feeling when he plays, besides feeling is not just about doing weird faces or gestures while playing, its about loving what you are doing and Paul definitely loves playing guitar
In the music videos of carrie, rock the night and open your heart, kee marcello appeared as their lead, where actually norum played those solos... He left Europe, when the band was at it's peak... That's why, he got underrated... I love final countdown music video, norum appeared there as a true rockstar... And that's their only music video back then, in which norum appeared...
@@iffatsharminislam7978 so sad..when at their peak..norum left the band😢..kee also one of best 80s guitarist, his phrasing, melody..ughhh..so amazing bro..superstitious one of my fav kee's solos..
Yo Bro!! I Seen You Always Tare Apart The Walls!! (John) Well, KEEP DOING THAT!! And too all that dont know him well??? LOOK HIM UP!! Ciao John, Rock On Forever! :-)
Honestly John has a lot of feel and he’s great but technically Paul Gilbert is a Alien 😅...for this reason with my band , we play few songs of Europe and nothing of racer x or Gilbert , too too difficult...
john s ''feeling'' is something that paul never had and never acquire.paul know this...feeling is a gift that you have it or not....you can learn it but never sounds like musician who was given it from birth!!!!it s different like tehnique or speed thats paul perfect learn and he is the best!!!!
To all who think the gut has problem with speedpicking, that's totally untrue. He has always armpicked, even during the 80s, that's what's called style. Norum is well known and respected for that and for his vibrato. Check out his huge and diverse solo work.
Mr. Norum is not as clean or "technical" as he used to be in the 80s, but he became quite more soulful and bluesy after Europe reunion. I like it :) (well, when it comes to play a Kee Marcello's solo the results may vary...)
Mr Norum is fantastic !! Feeling, technic, emotion, amazing sound...all is there. He is the only guitarist worthy of being compared to the Legend Gary Moore. He is the only one who makes me vibrate with the same emotions. A true guitar god...🤘🙏🤩👍
@MayelGura First of, fast riffs sounds A LOT better with wah wah, especially Norums way of using it, it just melts in and sounds simply amazing. And do you really think he cant hit all notes? Dude, do some researching before you comment something that stupid. Norum is the master of timing and actually hitting his notes, thats his thing!
Paul has the utmost respect for a legend such as Norum
He told you so?

Yes with his eyes
Paul is not just a genius but a class act you could see he was enjoying it!
