    The toggle clamps for the tracks is brilliant. I'm totally borrowing that idea for my tool trailer. That 118" track has always been a pain to haul. Thanks for the great idea.

    Almost makes me want to go back to home remodeling. Amazing how having a good set up helps you at work. Nice job. I do building maintenance and management. I think I need to stay with that. Remodeling is a young mans job. Especially the demo part. I currently use a pick up with side tool boxes. Thd side tool boxes have a set up with a different set up for each job/ trade. Maybe I should do a you tube on that. The back doors if my truck have a small rolling tool box and small 4 wheeled rolling cart, the set up has been simplified and works great. I only bring the BIG tools when I need , like tables saw, miter saw,compressor. I guess it is specific to building repairs and maintenance. I can go to remodel but that is occasionally.

    Nice van, I'm curious! have you done any comparison between the festool vac vs the ridgid from home depot?, I've always wanted to buy the festool but the price has been always in the way :), what models are your vacuums?, and lastly, thank you for taking the time making the videos.

    • @olegmeln9098
      @olegmeln9098 5 лет назад +3

      Cabinet Designs & Installs. Almost every time you turn on a RIDGID vac especially when they are used, you have to puff of dust coming out. With Festool vacs you don’t have that. Also you can buy a lifetime bag for the Festool and it’s very easy to dump the sawdust.
      The cons for Festool are the price, the expensive lifetime bag (between 100-250 dollars depends what model you have) and also the hose that come sis small
      And you have to buy another hose if you are trying to use it as your job site vac because bigger pieces get stuck. I have a ct48, Midi, and just sold a Ct36.
      It’s not a vac that you buy for your employees because they don’t value it and beat it up instantly. But something you definitely
      Should buy for yourself.

    • @colingroundwater
      @colingroundwater 4 года назад

      @@olegmeln9098 I've been using a RIGID vac for years and it has never done what you describe when using a bag. It can do what you say though when just relying on the filter. Still, it's certainly not a HEPA piece of gear.

    • @CabinetDesignsandInstalls

      Hi Jorge, at least from my experience I have this results: My van is Dodge Sprinter 3500 year 2005, (5) cylinders diesel, I do have plywood cabinets and shelves also, I know that there is some light weight plywood available from the moreland company, when I make mines I was not able to get that plywood, I ended up using the Poplar plywood, kind of a bit lighter that other plywood, now days the MoreLand lightweight plywood is available at Gahanl Lumber.
      So in my case, I added about 2 thousand pounds to my van, including the tools, but as far as fuel efficiency: it has been a very small change, before putting any tools at all, I was getting around 20.2 MPG, now after tracking 15,618 miles, I'm very happy to report that the average MPG is 19.6 MPG, I never regret getting my van, to the contrary, I pretty much regret not getting it about 10 years ago.
      I use the fuelly app to track all the MPG, here are a couple of pictures: www.screencast.com/t/olNfMhFZ and more more here: www.screencast.com/t/1S1AHKz2ss7i 👍🤙👌🛠️

    I just bought a Ford Transit 250 cargo van for my remodeling biz. Going to custom build the shelves as you did. Could see in video you used 3/4" ply on vertical dividers, as well as horizontal shelves (which makes sense for tool weight)...since you've already done this, any thoughts/opinion on using 1/2" ply on vertical dividers since ply is extremely strong in vertical direction? Every inch counts in small spaces, so trying to get info on best way to build my van out. Thanks!

    • @InsiderCarpentry
      @InsiderCarpentry  4 года назад

      I like 3/4 because it works best with pocket hole joinery. That way you're using all the same settings on the jig and same screw length. I personally think 1/2" would be a more of a pain that it would be worth.

      Hi Scoot, I have a Dodge Sprinter 3500 double wheel van, year 2005, most of the noise on mine was coming from the rattling of the metal sheet from the van, I went ahead and used the FatMat Self-Adhesive RattleTrap Sound Deadener amzn.to/2RKZ3ef from Amazon, I then cut the pieces one by one, roughly 6"X22", basically the size of any flat surface of the panel, you can see a picture here: www.screencast.com/t/ESMqCysPcfFk and here: www.screencast.com/t/JczZXIPPHZ , hope that helps.
