Fantasy Premier League 2024-25 is finally here! Welcome to my FPL latest draft team selection video for Gameweek 1 for the 2024/25 Premier League season!
The Fantasy Premier League game has been launched for the new 24/25 season, which means we can finally select our teams. That bench is crap, if there’s 1 thing I learnt from last seasons injury fest is that you need some solid options to sub on especially if you ever want to rack up the 5 saved transfers!
Verbruggen is out for 6 weeks I heard some kind of injury.
Had the same struggle with Palmer, I'd like him in my team but have to lose out on either an Arsenal or Man City player. I tried one without either Salah and Haaland and it seems the only way
Thoughts on Hudson Odoi 5.5 and Antonee Robinson 4.5? Both have really good fixtures to start the year
Verbruggen is not starting the first 2 games, and Turner is now a third choice GK for Forest. By the way...Bergvall is an eciting 4,5 midfielder. He is the new Martin Ødegaard

@@user-po4it7my5y salah plays ipswich town, Palmer plays city, besides salah will probably either score or bag an assist in that game, while palmer could score a lucky penalty, or chelsea probably wouldn’t even score in that game

I think you need watkins and isak, more so isak, change branthwaite for mykolenko as he is 0.5m cheaper. Use someone like konsa instead of cash
Thank you so much Dan, I requested a No-Haaland and you immediately said yes like a star ⭐️ Feel free not to answer this because it could be a ridiculous ask butttt.......is there any possibility of a Salah AND Haaland team or does that mean losing out on too many quality midfielders? I think it would be interesting to know who else you would pick on such a limited budget.

I think this is very controversial but I think Salah isn’t needed even if you don’t have Haaland. I’m looking at going without both of them but with Palmer, Saka, Foden, Watkins and Isak instead
I agree with you to some point on the players who you mentioned
Spot on I am looking at this and really spreading the funds so not relying on just 2 players when 6 or 7 can return

I’ve gone for only 4.5 defenders so I can have a stacked attack, is it viable?
That’s my plan, I’ve got rotating 4.0s planned as my D subs as well. Stacked offensive options. Going 5-2 or 4-3 depending on the week.
Leny Yoro is a great option at the back. Man U will keep clean sheets and he was superb at Lille
They will not 😅 look the last season mate. Yoro may be great player in future but Lille and farmers league is a little bit different than EPL.

My team, for now, is almost identical except Pickford, Munoz and Foden for Verbruggen, Andersen and Palmer

Rather saliba because with calafiori joining, gabriel might be rotated for ucl and stuff. Saliba is undroppable for arteta.

I like it, my first draft has no premium defenders, has Palmer in the midfield as well as the rest of your attack. 3-5-2 with Pedro as a quality sub.

It's all too stressful trying to choose one or the other, so this is my NO Haaland NO Salah Team:
GK - Alisson Becker
DEF - Saliba, Alexander Arnold, Gvardiol
MID - Odegaard, Eze, Gordon, Palmer
FW - Joao Pedro, Isak, Watkins
Subs: Ward (GK), Andersen (DEF), Nkunku (MID), Harwood-Bellis (DEF)
Salah v Ipswich GW1.
Would even consider a -4 to transfer Haarland in for GW2 v Ipswich. They'll be the whipping boys early on

Gvardiol definitely looks like a way better option than Saliba considering the new BPS and his attacking potential.
Would it be worth saving money on Saka and doing odegard in order to by a 6 and a half mil mid or would you rather Saka but a 5/5.5 mil mid. Also Pedro is good but Muniz has better fixtures, would you rather Muniz?
I’m thinking of not having either of Salah or Haaland. Would rather have Son and Palmer for example then Salah and Gordon
Who are you captaining then? Going without either of them is a massive risk
@@Darwinnunez83 Watkins, Son, Isak, Foden, or even Odegaard could all be captaincy options. Ceilings aren’t much lower than Salah, and having that many options means I always get a good fixture
Why Harwood-Belliz and not Faes? Faes nailed to start for Leicester City who gotta do better than Southhampton. Also please do a Haaland and Salah draft - I regretted not having both in the first few weeks on my team last year (yes I know Haaland was cheaper then)

probably Bruno because of fixtures, but I don’t trust Manu so went for Gordon
Don’t really get why so many people are assuming that Salah will still be the only nailed Liverpool attacker, with others sharing minutes. It could well be the case, but with the new manager and Salah clearly on decline last season i wouldn’t be so certain.
Could be the first season Salah is not nailed. Time to build a team around someone else
Slot will not have the balls to drop the star of the team in his first season, trust me. He is as nailed as possible, they don’t even have a good enough backup who can push his place in the starting lineup. If Salah is fit, he will start 100%.

Idk I'm a city fan. But with the amount of players set to miss out on preseason I'm not sure how we'll perform plus we have chelsea. I'm torn between having haaland or no haaland or maybe foden for salah

@SK1LZ_ honestly I'm not sure myself. I'll have a quick run through the whole team, I have a feeling for defence we'll play ederson, akanji, dias, ake and gvardiol because I think that's our best back 4. In midfield rodri, kova/silva. For the rest I have no clue because obviously you've then got foden, kdb, doku, grealish and now savio and haaland ofc. I have a feeling foden will start on the right kev middle doku left and haaland up front
@SK1LZ_ but I'm not 100% certain because most city players miss preseason. I'm pretty sure it's only haaland, grealish, kova, gvardiol, and Phillips then youngsters all the others got extra holiday. So we won't know till either the community shield or the start of the season... sorry for the long paragraphs

i’d rather go budget defence with saka,palmer,foden,son, gordon, Watkins and isak up front
I made good ground last season by having a semi-decent defence and well balanced team. I was monitoring the trendy goal scorers week on week and this season even easier with x5 roll overs. I once tried a budget ass defence and stacked out top but it backfired for me massively!

I honestly don't understand. I have Haaland, Salah, Palmer, Eze, RIce, Joao Pedro, Mykolenko, pretty much all of the good players from Midfield and Attack. Except Saka. Why are people saying it has to be one or the other. In most cases you would only have to sacrifice 1 of the 10 mil midfielders to accommodate Haaland. And go without Watkins, which I am not banking as much as last season. Maybe if Watkins would have played for a better team. Now Aston Villa have European football, it's going to be much harder.

@@AllrightNOR Not incredibly.. Just no premium defenders. Burn, Mykolenko, Andersen, Robinson..... and there's Taylor which is mostly padding. Plus Sanchez in goal. Besides, defense is overrated when it comes to points.
You also don't have Foden.. so you only have 1 of Foden,Saka,Palmer
@@sAzu27 actually :) I could have Foden :) but I chose De Bruyne, he fares better on first 4gw prediction for same price. I changed things up a bit. Now I have 3 - 4.5 mil defenders. And In Mid I have Salah, De Brunye, Gordon, Johnson and a 5 mil Rogers, which shows a lot of promise for Villa. And in front I have Haaland, Joao Pedro and Isak. I think I am getting close to a perfect team.
@@paulreacts1568 defence is not overrated. It's just hard to predict clean sheets. To have a good GW you need some points in defence too. Like Arsenals defence last year. But it's more fun to have cheap defence, hoping your attackers will all score. That rarely happens in my experience. I will try to have a set and forget defence. Maybe 1 or 2 premiums and 1 or 2 rotating cheap ones
