- Culture Club appeared many times on America's answer to "Top Of The Pops"- "Solid Gold" throughout their career, and this is a compilation of some of the last times they did so, beginning with the 1985 summer tour stop-over in Los Angeles for "Love Is Love" and a live duet with host Dionne Warwick on "Say A Little Prayer". Followed by their 1986-1987 appearances (all recorded on the same studio visit in the spring of 1986) promoting the album "From Luxury To Heartache": "Move Away", their last top ten US single, and two non-US tracks, "God Thank You Woman" (introduced by none other than Gladys Knight, with whom the band recorded 2019 single "Runaway Train") and "Work On Me Baby". Many of these clips are already on RUclips (in fact, some even already on MY channel!), but I believe these are slightly better quality than any of them, despite not being all that great.

I was an avid Solid Gold fan. I love how you’ve captured this for all eternity. I would love to see an album of George duetting with other artists. His voice has such a joyful tone to it.

Dang I can't remember ANY performer doing more than 1 performance at one time on any episode of Solid Gold.
This likely helped Culture Club a great deal for “Move Away” and the album to do better than it could have on the onset.
first song was on the soundtrack to the movie Electric Dreams
“Love Is Love” was released as a single in other countries, but Britain and America opted not to release it. It likely helped that Electric Dreams had not really been a box office hit.

Those was my best time and fav. Days còudnt be better. The songs nowadays cant or cannot touch d songs of the past thats why u hear how they call it gold. And now u play them every body will be dancing why i say this bc the type of song they play in a party now a days nobody dance them bc why the songs they play now is to much of bad boy and gun play i diffinately not going to those things even thogh they may song good to them in their likings u would not like to hear these young genration. Those young boys play and very disrepectful i dont dance them as they play that for me i walkd out the party they can do better than that i see it happen. Certain types of music to play u got to choose what u love.

it is impossible that work on me baby was performed on february 1987 in my opinion it was recorded sometimes in 1986 and broadcasted in febraury 1987. Probably Move Away, God Thank You Woman and Work On me baby were recoderd at the same time and broadcasted in different days even because the outfit is exacltly the same.

Yes, and they did the same thing with Color by numbers, if you notice he had the tan outfit and looked the same for all their Color by number hits. Maybe even kissing to be Clever for Do you Really and Time also. I don't think that they had any Waking up with the House on Fire recordings for Solid Gold. This is what I know :)

From Luxury to heartache should had more success 😑
It doesn’t help that the songs, while arguably better than the ones on Waking Up, still couldn’t compete with the first two albums. It also didn’t help they went with American pop producers for the fourth album and their sound was too overproduced and sterile and aimed too directly at current trends in American radio and clubs. It also didn’t help that George and the band also looked so obviously made over by stylists and they didn’t stand out image-wise to people by then the way they did when they first became famous three years earlier. I think by then, especially in America, Boy George and Culture Club had already been perceived by plenty of people to have basically become has-beens.
It's always been hard to try to get ahold of you George's friend this is Adam I just had a lot of trouble with my phone getting crashed or somebody hacking it maybe I got a straightened out I'm working on it God-bless take care little Janice
