One-of-a-kind mosque takes shape outside Granger

Peeking from the cornfields along Highway 141 near Granger is a dome that belongs to a new multimillion-dollar mosque. The Islamic and Cultural Center Bosniak of Des Moines will include a family center, soccer field, cemetery and a nearly 100-feet tall tower. Elvedin Sivac, president of the Islamic and Cultural Center Bosniak of Des Moines, said the mosque is a symbol of how welcomed they have felt in the United States.
