They always said they didn't want to end up like Elvis a prisoner of their own fame. So they kept "The Beatles" as something separate from who they were.
@@kathypiazza7228 I heard George say once that the four of them had to stay normal because everyone around them was insane. " We were the only sane people in the room." He said.

The piccolo trumpet solo in Penny Lane is one of the best examples of the magic interaction between "the boys" and George Martin. I was 13 when I first heard She Loves You in Newcastle, Australia. They took over my life and are still a huge part, even though I'm now 71. They are our Mozart, they brought fun back into music.

Ringo had me chuckling all the way through this. I appreciated that he loved having the audience around the band during the David Frost taping. I think its great that he mentions they'd been so cloistered in their fame that here was the much missed feeling of being around regular folks! It knocks me out that here he is in 2019, making a video for similar regular folks via RUclips ... and so many years before in provincial Liverpool he'd thought about it and decided, "I'm not gonna' be Richie Starkey on drums. I'm gonna' have a stage name. I'll call myself "Ringo Starr."
The greatest moment in Let It Be is that shot on the street. A woman is staring up and has that expression that says "Wait a second, that band up there doesn't just sound LIKE the Beatles, it..."
Ringo, your memory is not faulty... you DID also use the original Ludwig kit on an alternative video take of "Hello, Goodbye" (available on RUclips). That take was cut entirely from the finished video. That's a bit sad because - I believe - that's the last time your drum set with "The Beatles" on the kick drum appeared in any Beatles promo material.
