What a fantastic review! Thanks to Captain and Japonic for their efford to us bringing that much of information to the point! I love the way Japonics car was tuned like focused on driveability, reliability, oem air intake box and the hidden little things and bits which makes the difference. Must feel so great to drive this car. I really looking forward to next reviews like that! Big thumbs up for that!
@@jdmglobalwarehouse Hey i love JDM cars see my youtube channel last video too we have facebook group named as Arabacı Tayfa if you want you can join and share your new videos there
the Japanese Approach on tunning is very diffrent. Japanese tune is all about reliablity and the over all performance of the car not just about the power. its about how usable that power can be.
The engine won't last long with such an oil surge problem (see 37:30). The oil pressure clearly goes down under hard acceleration. An accusump would help, or a extended sump.
Another great job by the Captain. It is very refreshing to admire the “balance” philosophy of JDM car lovers (obviously why I subscribe to the channel) versus going for massive HP in American muscle (it’s good too but not not always part of the engineering makeup). Another great episode.
Nope - the game has moved on soooo much since the Mines Super response machine 600hp with 25 frame turbos ie 2530s Japan has fallen way behind Australia with GTR tuning RB28 G25 x 2 turbos 1200hp - this is the new super response machine ruclips.net/video/cTDAUe3YN3o/видео.html&ab_channel=HighPerformanceAcademy
I love the Japanese tuner culture of making updates and quite large power increases while keeping the body, engine and interior as original as possible, in America it is very common to make beastly increases in force in car engines but they leave it to on the one hand, driving and stability in braking and cornering, if I had a GTR R34, or also an R32 I would prepare it in the Japanese style, but keeping the RB26 block with it´s original 2.6 liters, since I love that sharp sound that stands out in this engine, excellent video and greetings from Venezuela
Loved the video, only downside is my heart breaks whenever I hear someone say N1 blocks are better. They aren't actually, and the block itself is weaker than the old rb blocks, check out the video Platinum Racing Products made with Motive Video about block comparisons, they sonic test the walls and the decks of the blocks to compare
Err yes and no. PRP and Motive DVD did test the RB25, RB26 05U and 24U, RB30 as well as the GT500 RRR blocks. hardness wise the RB25, RB26 05U and 24U are basically almost the same. The RRR block for the high price is not worth buying and you prob be better off buying the normal RB26 block. But i can say Nismo/Omori factory still produces brand new RB26 05U and 24U blocks for tuners to build their dream RB26 engines. Hardness is one factor when tuning an engine. But it always boils down to the ECU tuning aspect and how good are the engine protection safety systems. Bad tune and no protections are sure fire way to destroy even expensive billet blocks. What i like is that PRP makes braces for the RB26 so that you have an extra insurance when building beyond 600+ bhp. ECU tuning wise i will def go Haltech. RB30 block with Nitto rotating assembly. Single Garret turbo, RB25DET VCT head and dry sump the RB30DET engine with the OS Giken Sequential gearbox.
@@linchester8464 the 24 U block is the N1 block and while yes the N1 block was pretty similar to the others (excluding the RRR) it was lower on average and they said that on other blocks they've tested it also was lower on average. You are right though in the sense that block thickness is not everything, but it's a very important factor if you are going for high horsepower builds, a good time is very important but in the end if the metal can't handle the stress it'll fracture, and yeah the prp block brace is the shit lol
@@ziadkabbani4479 its prob the draw of the luck when you get the RB26 blocks. You might get a good cast even on the stock 05U block or get crappy 24U block. Depends on when it was casted and the temperature/environment. High humidity and high temps iirc results to bad cast since it takes longer time to cool down after casting. And during the machining phase of the bore. If there is a slight shift of the block during the machining phase then one cylinder wall will become thinner on one cylinder and one cylinder becomes too thick. The RB30 is the go to stock block if you want enough thickness before you start machining further when you install cylinder liners for big power. Then you get the extreme tuners who are aiming for over 1200+ bhp. Then you better have deep pockets for one 30k billet block. And you better have all the engine protection in place. But sadly one R34 even an Series 1 R graded one was sold for 80k. And then a stock V Spec II Nur sold for almost 300k USD. At this price, i would rather spend it on a MY2020 Nismo R35 and have spare change for E85 tuning and get more faster. And have plenty of tires.
@@linchester8464 idk about draw of luck, caus in the video they only tested one block but they've tested other lots of other blocks before and had averages, and on average the N1 read a bit lower. I think the rb25 was on average a bit higher. And yeah rb32 is definitely the way to go if you don't really care that much about the rb26 sound. Also idk where you got that 30k number from but if you're talking about the block alone, a bullet race engineering rb30 billet block is about 10k USD from what I remember. With a nitto 3.2 I'm pretty sure that's like 14k for the bottom end in total which don't get me wrong is alot of money but it might be worth it if you're thinking of getting a rb30 and don't live in australia. Caus if you can't see the block before buying you're going through the hassle of paying freight, fees and shit and you might end up with a rusty block. So depending on who you are it might be more worth it to just go billet directly
@@ziadkabbani4479 30K was my estimate for the whole engine build with the billet block. 14k with the bottom end. Dry sump oil system, R35 GTR Coil packs.
