For the past couple years whenever I feel slighted I would say “I’m a grown up, I have rights”. I knew it was from something because I would say it in the voice but completely forgot where I heard it and assumed it was Bo Burnum. I am glad that today I discovered it was this song

"Big Parma" stands for "Big Pharma" or the big pharmaceutical companies that have an overabundance of power over our country and the decisions leaders and doctors, etc make for our Healthcare system, such as insurance rates and fees, what's covered and what's not, prescription prices, who receives top medicines and who doesn't, etc "
"I want more Parmesan" represents "Materialism" and materialistic lifestyles.
People can never get enough. They always want more than what they have or are given. That's why the "waiter" who represents "Marketing" & "Advertising" companies, "News", "Media" and "Large Chain/Retail stores" says "Would you like more?" The guy says "please". The waiter gives him a spoonful and asks him if he "wants more?" And he says "Sure, as if it's no big deal".
Because that's how consumers are these days. They see what they want and buy it and keep buying, but they're not usually thinking about the long term repercussions on their credit cards and bank accounts, or the planet once everything goes to waste, or their house when it starts to fill up with everything that's been purchased over time, or our bodies, our health and our minds as we want more fast food and junk food, more fries, bigger burgers, larger plate sizes, more media stories, more Tik Tok and other social media Videos, more disturbing news segments, etc.
He says "As if that's not my reason for choosing an Italian restaurant in the first place."
He chose it because he suspected he'll get more of what he wants from them (in this case, being Parmesan cheese).
For example:
Go to the stores and you will often see 5 or more colors/styles/options for one single item, and still it won't be enough for some. The store that offers the biggest variety of items and options and gives the most bang for your buck is the store that will likely receive the most consumers. The same goes for everything else I just mentioned (news stations, social media videos & companies, etc.)
It can also be seen as him saying "I want more out of you, given the amount I'm paying for this meal", which can be equated to media, banks, cable & utility companies, big chain stores, taxes, and government spending, etc.
Ppl who have large amounts of taxes taken out of their paychecks want more for their money, like better funding for their children's schools, better roads to drive on, free college tuition, better loan rates, more parks and playgrounds, better quality policing and better quality housing and neighborhoods for all. They want the value for their money, which is why they choose specific political candidates when voting. They are hoping that candidate will give them more of what they want.
"I'm a grown-up. I have rights."
"I won't remain silent, I won't back down".
These refer to people who go around justifying that they should be able to get what they want, say what they want, or do what they want, based on their personal, God given and Amendment given rights, and they won't back down until they get what they want.
Examples: "freedom of speech", "the right to bear arms", "not wanting to wear masks", the right to "have an abortion", the right to "stand your ground", the right to "spank your children", etc.
In some cases, this way of thinking proves to be rather beneficial and can lead to positive changes such as his 4 "X" votes being switched to "yesses" because he didn't give up. (Yes, that was likely all a planned setup by the judges to help him get his point across even more).
In other cases, this leads to counteractive things such as committing acts of violence, selfishness, or stupidity; thus, further leading to the disunity and separation of our people, country, cities, schools, neighborhoods, religious centers, etc.
The reason he received a standing ovation is because the people of the audience understood "the bigger picture" -- that this wasn't just a song about cheese, it was a song about mankind (particularly in the West) and the world we live in today.
