You think shock therapy was better than talking to them?

I have always admired Carl Jung's work and his theories, mostly because I related to them being an INFJ myself. But this was quite eye-opening. Can you name the movie here?

Funnily enough I think Viggo Mortensen should have played Jung instead of Freud and Michael Fassbender should have played Freud 😅

That's an interesting take! Viggo Mortensen as Jung would definitely bring a unique perspective to the character. Both actors have such incredible range.

The actual age of the actors may be the reason behind the choice, but I agree! I totally see Mortensen as Jung!

Great question! While "hysteria" is often considered outdated in modern psychology, the character might have been dealing with anxiety or other emotional challenges.

Severe trauma in adverse childhood experiences can cause mental illness, which could also lead to psychosis
I highly recommend "the body keeps score" for reading

Lung treatment for a false diagnosis

It’s not a false diagnosis- it’s an unknown diagnosis
What they called hysteria then (in this case) would actually now be called BPD OR CPTSD
so yeah .. name is different but the diagnosis is the same
If you look at the symptoms of bpd and cpstd it’s exactly the same set of symptoms that SHE HAS (including hyper sexuality)
And cognitive therapy is actually a treatment as he is doing here (talk therapy and uncovering and unpacking and reframing the trauma)
      Known today as CBT therapy

@@barbarella.artist Freud and Jung were in the Psychodynamic camp (psychoanalytical and analytical respectively), not the Cognitive (or cognitive behavioral) one; the latter came on later. But talk therapy, yes.
