Nice. Glad you made this. Daijisho is my jam. It's my home launcher for my rp3+. I'm still sour that I wasted money on launchbox. It doesn't work nearly as well as this and this is free!
I love it! I only wish we could sort the games by year, star rating, etc, or simply when in the list, have the favorites up top instead of in a separate tab. It's just such a quick frontend, I got Launchbox last year but it's so slow in comparison.
Sorting by star rating would be a great addition on Daijisho. Definitely needs some work but glad to see so many people in the community enjoying it as their go to front end launcher.
Thank you for the guide. I have an issue with my device, the controller buttons do not work as intended for the n64 or gamecube. I have the on screen controllers (which I did turn off the overlay and saved config) the buttons on my powkiddy x28 are not syncing at all with the android gaming pad or any new profile setting I do can you help me out please?
Okay, here's my issue. I've got RetroArch and Daijisho on my Kindle Fire. RetroArch runs games perfectly well on its own, using the MAME 2000 core, but Daijisho will NOT run most of those games with the MAME 2000 core specified... I get a black screen for many of these games. MAME4All will work with Daijisho, but I'd prefer not to use that.
I haven't had that happen on any of my devices fortunately. There was a big update though in the last few days so I'd recommend updating and seeing if that fixes it.
For some cps2 games I don't have audio, do you know why? On PC they sound fine but on Android there no audio. Super sf2 and puzzle fighter are two examples. What audio setting do you have on Android for retro arch?
The only issue I'm running into is that my device is an Anbernic. Dolphin won't recognize the controller at all, so I'm stuck using the control layout on screen. Any tips for this?
Still can't figureout how to edit a specific path for a standalone emulator outside retroarch or playstore outside the giving list some standalone apks it can't read them as an example it can't read citra canary mainline apk but it can read citra mmj apk and it cant read yuzu early access apk for some reason even if you choose it from list , Instead of the limited list they should make you choose the app you want directly will save alot of time
All you have to do is just set the default home launcher back by either uninstalling Daijisho or setting your default home launcher back to the stock one on your device. Searching "Launcher" or "Home" in the settings on your device usually brings up the option to swap it back. Hopefully, that helps.

Great video! I am having some trouble launching arcade games (both NeoGeo and Mame). Core is provided by Retroarch, where all of my roms work. Any idea? Cheers!
The one very odd thing though is you can not access the artwork directories in Daijsiho. The scraping (especially arcade games) in Daijsiho is not very good (regardless of choosing scrape sources), so was hoping to use the Launchbox artwork. Unlike Launcbox, you can't access it directly. Catch is Daijisho allows two arcade options (FBNEO and MAME), but Launchbox only allows one or the other. Both frontends have good features, but neither is well rounded. At least Daijisho is free.
I am using an android 13 rog phone 6 and samsung galaxy s8. Daijsho does not start any my games (ps2, Dreamcast..). I am always getting an "player error unable to find activity class" ... What can i do?
Are you sure it's linking to the correct emulator/core? Try editing your player settings. Couple different versions of RetroArch in there (just as an example).
Hi @KeiRetroGaming I followed every step you showed in the video, but whenever I try to launch a game from daijisho, the screen just goes black and nothing happens. Please help me, I am not able to find any solution on this. I would really appreciate it.
Hi im having problem with syncing. Im using android for setting this up. I followed the steps on clicking paths and locating the files on my SD card, then clicking sync but it doesnt sync my files with. What could possibly got wrong? I hope you can answer me. Thanks for the video by the way!
Try using internal storage instead and see if it works. Depending on your version of Android you might have issues with permissions and accessing the SD card files in certain apps.
Love the video, love intro a d background music. Wondering: can this become a frontend for an amazon firestick? Same process? Make it the default frontend when turned on? This is for a firestick 4k, not max version. I think PS1 will run best on pcsx emulator, can this be the default emulator within this app and expect the same performance ?
When i launched game in Daijisho, it just open the emulator and then i must launch game manual in that emulator. How can i launch game straight? Thanks
Certain emulators need to be setup first before starting a game from Daijisho. Start up the emulator, launch a game within it first, then try it on Daijisho.
What emulator are you using for GBA? 3DS and PS2 both require a setup first as mentioned. Just check your launch commands to see if everything is selected correctly. I had the one system set to the wrong version of Retroarch but swapping that immediately fixed the issue.
Bro! Thank you for this video. Is there a way to set up the artwork without changing the name of the game? I ordered RG353m. I want to install DAIJISHO!
I'm not sure if there's another way to search for missing artwork. Usually, it automatically picks up most of it, so there's no need to worry. On my devices, I'm usually only seeing about 1-5 games per system usually require manual correction due to naming issues.
