I just finished wrapping my Christmas presents using furoshiki cloth that I ordered from Kyoto.I wouldn't have know about furoshiki if it wasn't for your video. Thanks ever so much. This might become a family tradition.
You may not remember now but do you have the website? It's too late for me to acquire for this holiday but I definitely wish to cloth wrap any gifts next year
I found some good sites by typing "furoshiki"into the browser. That word is also associated with the fabric used for the furoshiki technique. Like you I waited to long this year but last year it was a big hit with the people I gave gifts to. We might catch a few bargains by waiting until the holidays are over.
Arigatou!! I have been using furoshiki for a bit and using mostly a simple Iranian version, but this is sooo amazing I plan to learn all types of furoshiki from now on thanks to your videos!!
I wish I could go to JAPAN... and I love this beautiful bags... I'm gonna have to go get some fabrics and may my own. Great idea TNX for share... LOVE IT...!
I am not Japanese, though I have been to Japan twice, and received a furoshiki on my first trip. So take what I say with a grain of salt. :) I believe that the furoshiki is a part of the gift, and not meant to be returned to the giver.
Long time coming, but I believe most furoshiki are about 105cm x 105cm. Approximately 41 inches or so. I have cloth that is about 40 inches, and some cloth that is 45. I prefer the 45 inch cloth unless attaching a handle.
@Lion i live in America. I checked it at Joann's Fabric store last month ago.. I bought bamboo ring (2) tote. So, I just want to know what is handbag with bamboo ring tote?
"...t it is a little troublesome to carry a separate bag for shopping. It is almost impossible if you go shopping straight after work. " NO.... NO IT'S NOT. How is it that people that drive can't remember to put their bags back out in their car after they empty them? Do you think those same people will be tying furoshiki to use? No they're either too lazy or in many cases too embarrassed to do the right thing. Meanwhile I haven't driven for 10 years and have never walked out of a supermarket with a plastic bag... As someone who actually uses my reusable shopping bags and a minimalist though, I will look into furoshiki method, see if it's more or less practical than using regular reusable shopping bags...
Finally a video on furoshiki showing all the different wraps! Thanks for putting this all together.

question, if a gift is wrapped in this furoshiki, is it custom that the gift receiver return the furoshiki? Or is it "part" of the gifting? :)
