The Pentax K30 is an AWESOME camera. We LOVE it. There is one thing we don't like about it. Pentax only offer the cable version of off camera flash, not a wireless transmitter, unlike Nikon and Canon. Hopefully Pentax will create a wireless version soon. If Pentax does create a wireless device we will come back to Pentax. We like that Pentax K30 has photographer information that allows you to put your name in and any copyright information, which is embedded into the photo.
@nAcolz Normal focusing involves a lens mechanically connected to the camera body via a drive shaft. When the drive shaft turns some of the elements inside the lens move to achieve focus. With focus by wire the movement of the focusing is measured electronically, and then a motor moves the lenses inside. Pentax's 18-55mm kit lens is a screw-drive system from the camera body which means the drive shaft when turned is moving the elements inside the barrel. Chuck

Unfortunately there are not any adapters that we carry or that exist to my knowledge to allow one to mount a Canon EOS autofocus lens onto a Pentax K/Autofocus camera body. I am sorry about that. Yossi

Pentax has not been as popular as Canon and Nikon, but I think it's mostly due to their distributing & advertising. I'm not sure about other places on the globe, but if you go into a Big Box Store around here, you can easily get a Canon or Nikon, but never see a Pentax. You need to go into a dedicated camera store to see Pentax, and when people are first starting out, a lot go to the big box stores. For the record, I'm a Pentax shooter. (K-5)
The K-30 and K-50 are both excellent cameras, which are extremely similar. Some of the few differences would be that the K-50 has an expanded ISO range, Eye-Fi card control, has improved image processing, and comes in far more colors. In terms of performance and image quality, they would be comparable. It would be hard to go wrong with either. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com
They don't advertise like canon and Nikon recuse they put all that money into quality products. I could not not wait for 1080 video so I jump from Pentax to canon 2 years ago wish I would have waited because my wife go all my nice lens and she now has the k30.
Weathersealing, 100% FoV Pentaprism Viewfinder make this a very competitive camera at the price point. Yes you can split hairs, like saying Shake Reduction doesn't work so hot at longer telephotos, but you forget to mention that it also works with any Pentax lens ever... Mixed review, and hardly thorough.

Many of the features you mention are also on the older K110D model.

will the 70-200mm f4 Non IS Lens from canon work with this dslr? provided with an canon to pentax adapter?
