this track is so hard, not only because the track is narrow and the turns are incredibly tight, but the random lines in the road completely mess with your physics, and there was nothing else in the game prior to prepare you for it, so it just fucks you up your first several times playing. love how brutal it is, one of the coolest final tracks in any racing game ever, tbh.
Even to this day, I can't get the slim line slits track down. With a little practice, I could probably still sweep the master rank in every other GP series in GX, but I'm lucky to finish 20th there.
@@Jake-ln6zk Same. My only strategy for Diamond Master has always been to win first in all previous tracks (which I can do pretty consistently) and then try to survive Phantom Road (which is just impossible for me). That final bend is the worst.
Well the game's OST composers consist Hidenori Shoji whom did songs for Sega games and Daiki Kasho whom did songs for the Gran Turismo games and for games by Genki + Crave Entertainment which consists Kaido Battle and I believe he worked with Shutoko battle as well. Not to mention, even though F-Zero GX is a Nintendo game franchise, Sega worked with Nintendo as well overall to help make F-Zero GX and F-Zero AX. I wanna think Sega's invlovement is as to why we don't have a new F-Zero game yet. Weird to think but yeah.
I somehow managed to get 1st place on Phantom Road Master mode with Queen Meteor a few days ago. Boost at the top of the beginning ramp and that’ll give you a huge advantage.
This is pretty much the best strategy to pull off, second is to not hit any wall after landing and preserving energy, boost then slowdown before the bend, go full speed after that. That's how I got 1st place with DeepClaw
In Britain, between 1998 and 2021 we had a show called Nightscreen during the small hours. Basically a summary of what was on TV, just text and still pics, no voices. This would not be out of place on the more modern versions of the show :D
I beat all of story mode on Very Hard, but I couldn't come anywhere close to getting first on Slim-line Slits. To clear Diamond Cup I ended up resorting to wrecking out enough cars to keep my points lead and finish 23rd and a lap down. Might have been my driving style, since I tended to use Zoda and go max speed strats.
Slim Line Slits was annoying but personally I never had too much of a problem with it. But I tended to use Hyper Speeder and actively knocked out multiple racers each track.
Reminder that this track was originally supposed to be called "Rainbow Road". It's there in the beta files of F-Zero AX (you can play it with hacks). Until Nintendo decided to keep the legacy of Rainbow Road "E for Everyone" and ruined the party...
@@one_step_sideways "doesn't make sense" that's literally what happened, originally there were gonna be much worse flashing bright colours, so they decided to tone them down (and renamed the course accordingly)
I said this in another channel but screw Slim-Line Slits; too many bad memories of that track. One wrong misturn or thought and you'll hear the words, "Off Course!". And the Story Mode track is just as bad, if not worse.
I couldn't do it, I resorted to wrecking enough cars to keep my points lead to win master cup. I probably finished 23rd, last car on the track one lap down when I cleared Master Cup.

If they ever make more F-Zero games,I hope the final track for each game will be a new iteration of Phantom Road. Just like Rainbow Road had been in MarioKart from the beginning.

There like some weird magnetism on the walls and if you're not boosting you get wrecked and if you're boosting you also get wrecked lmao
@@stussymishkadoomed either way 😂
So, Shigeru Miyamoto, Reggie Filsamech, and Satoru Iwata all challenge Captain Falcon to a race and- ...okay, the punch line is Rainbow Road
*BA DUM TSS*
Bruh .....
🤣
they all lose. sorry
the falcon punch line falcon kicks ass bro!
It was difficult but I just snaked my way throughout the entire race pretty much and took my chances falling off ended up lapping them.
Evil Rainbow Road!
Yes!
The father ,the son ,and the holy spirit challenges falcon
AND SOMEHOW HE STILL WINS.
Now you know the actual holy Trinity had nothing to do with the game
The theme at 0:47 is a reference to Vectorman’s title screen
Wow, that info blew me up! I can hear the similarity

You knew when you heard this track, you were in serious trouble.
Let's not forget that Cpt Falcon was racing against a belt 😂
Actually, he was racing against the gods who resided within the belt, who are HEAVILY implied to be the game's producers.

This sounds like the perfect final boss music!
i mean, you're kind of spot on since this plays on the last story mission in gx
This music is heavily underrated. Nintendo hurry the fuck up and make a new F-Zero game🤣

getting PTSD of trying to beat Chapter 9 in story mode on very hard difficulty...
There is a trick to it, when you can boost on Lap 2 and Lap 3.
There’s always that necessary trick to leap off the circle curve to skip ahead on the track below while boosting
fingers crossed for remake 🤞🏽
I’m here more for the music than the game these days damn
The music of PAIN 💀🤣
does anyone know CPU flew over the very last bend in the track and got way ahead of you?
Yep, esp on Master, I managed to do it twice myself, insanity lol

But actually no. It was because of the rainbow road visuals being to confusing with everything else going on.
actually it was to reduce risk of hurting people with epilepsy, can you imagine flying by those bright colours that fast?
@@acidhydra101 That doesn't make any sense because of literally everything else going on in F-Zero GX/AX. Epilepsy is overrated.
