My son struggles with addiction , these lyrics say how I feel ! Not sure who is struggling more my son who is running from his demons or myself watching him run ! I just can't compromise, apologize....

Yes sad indeed! I will never understand addiction. I have partied and I have to say lucky to never have become addicted. Prayers please for my son Ryan Kelly and any others who struggle with addiction! I grew up listening to FFDP I raised 4 children and believe me , when I say they all have heard your music and talent. When I need a release the tunes are cranked! My kids always laughed big differences than my norm of Govt. Mule . Sometimes in life you need to switch things up!
I myself am struggling with addiction. Lost my girls and everything I own. For what? I hate this disease and pray everyday for forgiveness and to recover from this. I love my girls so much! Just want the life I had back before all this. Choices have consequences and you reap what you sow.

Oh my goodness this song hit me like a ton of bricks.
My son was a drug addict. 6.3 A 110 pounds before he was murdered over a backpack.
I tried so many times to get him help. I even asked him where he want me to bury him.
I finally found a place that was going to step in and help. He even came with me to sign paperwork to put him in a apartment of his own and off the street he would be. But I ran into problems with find a place for him.
He got really mad a week before he died. He want me to pull his money out of his trust. I refused. He then wanted me to put the trust into his name. I also refused that too. He was so mad that night that His Dad and I took him back to the town he was living in. He cursed and called us horrible name’s saying horrible things. (I know it was because he needed a fix) we dove 30 minutes to where he had been staying. I had my husband pull over. I got out popped the trunk and dumped his stuff on the ground. My son got out and started to pick his stuff up. Saying I don’t stay here anymore. I told him I don’t care. I’m done. Don’t call me ever again. Just pretend I’m dead.
He said no Mom give me a hug. I refused. Got back in my car and left.
Of course he called several times. Even apologize. for everything. Telling me he was just really stressed and wanted to get off the streets and the drugs . Told me to tell his Dad that he was sorry for everything also. Said he couldn’t live with me not being in his life. I finally called him back once again knowing that I had been down this road so many times before. I was to go down that weekend to take him out to eat and get another phone for him. That weekend never came ! He was murdered by a man that pretended to be his friend.
My curse is ( I reply the fight we had ; and not being able to get the help he needed.)
The worst part is him saying he didn’t want to live with out me in his life,but I’m the one left with trying to live with him not in mine.
