But I gave my life to the Lord Jesus, I was willing to start with Him again, and today, three years later, I can assure you that it was the best thing I did in my life. The anxiety attacks are over, the desire for suicide, self-mutilation, He took everything away!

I've never known this type of pain. My parents passed 4 years ago, just 7 months apart. I didn't think there was worse pain, now with losing my Husband after 23 years of marriage and at the age of 43, I've never felt so broken and misplaced. Hold onto that love with everything you have. I disagree. You can stay positive, stay strong, be productive, etc. all you like, but all you end up doing is pushing it down. I have been doing that for so long. You still have to face it eventually. And songs like this help you do that.

This means that this is just a scene, not your story. You WILL get through this. Imagine, your anxiety is the fruit, and your pride is the root, if you would pluck it up by the root, the fruit couldn't grow. Your pride is creating your anxiety. Notice, "I don't think I can do this" or "I don't feel like I am capable of doing this." I love how Ashes Remain makes songs that can be taken so many different ways. If you want to take it as a religious song, you can. If you want to take it as a song about a person, as I do, I take it as if they're about me and my boyfriend, you can. I guess this song says it all. Left the love of my life on a November day for a life I thought I wanted; I’ve tried to make that life work but despite almost 2 decades later; I’m still so unhappy. My grandpa was a very important person in my life he helped me get through the bad days and now he has dementia and he isn’t able to see me again and it hurts so much and my grandpa was there for me at a time when no one was else was. He understood me cause he was like me and he loved me and I loved him. And I miss him so much. My grandpa didn’t like music but he would listen to me sing to my songs even though he didn’t like music he said anything I listen to he likes. Me and my grandpa would go places together and hang out together not only was he my grandpa but he was the dad I never had and I used to accidentally call him dad but now I realize I did it because he was like a dad to me. We were so close the hardest thing I have to do is to push through the pain everyday without him and to be happy without him being there and telling me his joke and making me smile the hardest thing is to fake a smile everyday just so my family and friends can think I’m okay but deep down I’m not okay. I miss him so much it hurts when I was in 12grade it was prom he told me he had dementia and he couldn’t drive anymore and that about broke my heart cause knowing I would not see him again is just horrible I wish people didn’t get dementia or cancer and anything that kills slowly and I wish people only died from old age my grandpa is the only one who was there for me I will never find anyone like him cause no one is as caring and understanding and loving as he was I wish he could atleast see me get married maybe even walk me down the isle but that probably won’t happen. I've not been the same since I lost Mom at 47 in 98 Then loose my other half my older sister at 31 In 02 My mind went completely gone. Life changed so fast right then. But my sister gave me hope she was my bbf and that took me to a whole new level of pain. They were my rock and their both gone. I've been fighting through tears of mental pain for years. I love how Ashes Remain makes songs that can be taken so many different ways. If you want to take it as a religious song, you can. If you want to take it as a song about a person, as I do, I take it as if they're about me and my boyfriend, you can. Not many Christian bands do that, and I'm thankful that the ones I've found so far are able to do what Ashes Remain are able to do.

My grandpa was a very important person in my life he helped me get through the bad days and now he has dementia and he isn’t able to see me again and it hurts so much and my grandpa was there for me at a time when no one was else was. He understood me cause he was like me and he loved me and I loved him. And I miss him so much. My grandpa didn’t like music but he would listen to me sing to my songs even though he didn’t like music he said anything I listen to he likes. Me and my grandpa would go places together and hang out together not only was he my grandpa but he was the dad I never had and I used to accidentally call him dad but now I realize I did it because he was like a dad to me. We were so close the hardest thing I have to do is to push through the pain everyday without him and to be happy without him being there and telling me his joke and making me smile the hardest thing is to fake a smile everyday just so my family and friends can think I’m okay but deep down I’m not okay. I miss him so much it hurts when I was in 12grade it was prom he told me he had dementia and he couldn’t drive anymore and that about broke my heart cause knowing I would not see him again is just horrible I wish people didn’t get dementia or cancer and anything that kills slowly and I wish people only died from old age my grandpa is the only one who was there for me I will never find anyone like him cause no one is as caring and understanding and loving as he was I wish he could atleast see me get married maybe even walk me down the isle but that probably won’t happen. Thank you grandpa for always being there and helping me get through so much pain through the years thank you grandpa for being a dad to me thank you for loving me grandpa I love you forever to the moon and back and I wish I hugged you more or atleast told you how much I loved you!!!

I made some stupid mistakes and made my girlfriend mad. She said "I hate you" as a joke. But it hurts me really. So I couldnt talk with her about 15-20 minutes. Then she thought i take it seriosly and feel really sad. After some messages, I made her talk with me again. Then we both smile at each other. Then this song starts to sing inside my head. I've not been the same since I lost Mom at 47 in 98 Then loose my other half my older sister at 31 In 02 My mind went completely gone. Life changed so fast right then. But my sister gave me hope she was my bbf and that took me to a whole new level of pain. They were my rock and their both gone. I've been fighting through tears of mental pain for years. But I hid it. Because I had to raise my 7 yr sister. My body is tired, I've been strong and I've lived even when I felt guilty for doing so. I just want to see my mom and sister so bad. Our moms heard about the argument and split us apart. The only contact we had was through our other friend. I spent a whole year without a best friend. Now I won't let any one in.
