I love not just the detail of the gray shirt during the 2007 flashback, but also the delivery of the line. That’s some classic 2007 IG
glad you picked up on that. I had to do it!
Pretty nice attention to detail. Also on the 2012 and 2020 clips. I miss those old backgrounds with the Nintendo power posters and black shelf. So nostaigic.
I like to change things up
@@irategamer Definitely, new set-up has looked awesome and clean, with all those fun Arcade 1ups glowing in the back.
That moment in time where new Irate Gamer is more entertaining than new Avgn
Indeed, it's wild. Of course many a devout AVGN fan would be desperate to claim otherwise.
@Channeleven2345789 I've seen people literally trying to pass that latest AVGN episode as an April Fools joke, even though it was released on like the 20th.
@@Slayercoon666 Really? Damn. They're that desperate.
@@Channeleven2345789
Irony. 😏
@@Slayercoon666 oh how the tables have turned after all this time.
To see first youtuber to ever know become objectively worse than it's bootleg.
The craziest thing ever.
What a time to be alive.
I’ve been following The Irate Gamer since he first started and am so glad he’s still making these videos. The man is passionate about gaming.
Thankyou!
1:11 The attention to detail to make these clips look old is amazing. Fitting since your old Indiana Jones video had you turn your garage into the temple with the game.
It was fun to switch things up
legitimately thought those were old clips lmao
First AVGN, now it's Irate Gamer's turn on playing Raiders.
Mind blowing that Irate Gamer Temple of Doom NES review is probably as old as the Temple of Doom NES game itself when it came out!
EXACTLY
The latest Irate Gamer is a million times better than the latest AVGN. Incredible!
high praise, thankyou
Agreed. Love AVGN, but this is the path.
Who woulda thunk The Irate Gamer would be making more authentic classic angry reviews than the AVGN.
Appreciate the effort, Chris!
I'm not usually early on a video often, but it feels good😄
This is wild. It's like 2009 all over again lol
Can you please bring back irate the 80s food reviews? Because there were so many classic foods from the 80s that could use your personal review
Are you wanting him to eat the 80's food to review it?
To get over to that hole under the branch while you are falling you have to find a balloon or parachute or something to float over to it. That screen you couldn't tell what it was, was the map room.
Chris looks like hes hardly aged at all in 15 years. Contrast with James lol
Poor James has the ever receding Shawn Michaels hairline. 😂 Chris is frozen in time.
I think he may be a vampire
I never thought the coat guy was a sex pest. That’s so hilarious!
Fantastic episode. Really great production qualities, and I loved that hole through the screen. This is way better than a video about a mobile game with a man-horse.
The ‘Bendover Bandit’ beneath the bazaar scared the crap out of us in 1984!
Many thanks! I think you're the first comment about the tv bit. I loved that.
What's all that about a mobile horse game??
@@irategamer AVGN, who we love, recently released an episode that takes a look at a menu-driven mobile game about horse with an effeminate man’s face.
Never clicked on a video faster
Me too! I love how original he is. Do you know rhat he is the first and best I'll tempered video game reviewer ever. I clicked so fast and hard that my laptop almost broke. Thank goodness it didn't. Because it would be very hard for me to click super fast again like you if my laptop doesn't work. Lol! Hopefully I can click faster than you when he uploads another video again. Fingers cross rival mega fan.
I have never clicked on a video so fast since the avgn! And that is quite the compliment lol. Can't wait for the next one!
High praise! Thank you
Always great to see a video from you man. Definitely been an inspiration for me for a long time now. Fantastic work as always.
Glad to see you back Chris!
Great review! So glad you started a Patreon, I'm stoked to see more content!
i loved that opening where you made it look like your older game review videos, that hit me with pure nostalgia, thank you so much for that :)
really cool that you took the time and effort to recreate those old rooms! would love to see more of those come back
Took a couple hours but the joke was well worth it
This video reminds me of better times, it's like comfort food in video form. Thanks Chris!
Back in the 80s, there was home internet to just look up solutions, so all I had to go on to play this game was the included instruction manual. I read it, and the "hints" section, which I consider essential to knowing how to play the game. I was able to complete it. In fact, once I learned what to do, I could usually complete it every time.
You cannot help but love this guy.
You are an inspiration man. I remember years ago all of the crap you received and you never let it stop you pushing forward and working hard. You deserve all the success.
Love the vid! Excellent job.
Always a treat to see another Irate Gamer review ^~^
I've missed these episodes :D awesome work!!!! :D
This Indiana Jones game is too cryptic even for the Atari 2600! Also this review is better than AVGN’s horrible Horse Prince video!
Horse prince?? Wtf?? Lol
@@irategamer it’s a terrible anime mobile game about bestality!
The Atari 2600 is the greatest arcade console ever 🙌 🕹
@@tylerdenaro3365 not really, it is a great arcade 70s style console. But NES and PS2 has better arcade console gaming with its controllers and arcade ports.
Avgn is like his hairline it only gets worse.
Very good. I'm glad to see a classic review with callbacks to early seasons. You were one of the first channels i followed, back when you yad the director label.
Great episode Chris! Can’t wait for Temple of Doom next.
Good to see you uploads, Chris!
Amazing video Irate Gamer!
Intro is pretty well made. Good review so far.
Chris Awesome video uploading more Irate Gamer Videos you've been doing an Outstanding Job doing more videos keep up the Good Work always.
Imagine there was a time where if you were lost in a video game, you either needed a good friend or a handbook for guidance. Thank God it's 2024 and we have the internet to explain things to us. Also big fan of irate gamer. Thanks for making these amazing videos.
Chris you're killing it my guy. keep up the amazing work!
Trying my best!
@@irategamer I know you are dude. Thank you for never selling your soul man i know God will reward you for it.
Just wondering, when might we get a compilation of season 7?
So fun to watch Chris!
Ever thought about reviewing old Commodore 64 games?
My older brothers have a C64 and it would cool to see you rage over some of those games like Forbidden Forest and HERO 😄❤️
I did a couple here and there. I try to fit other consoles games in whenever possible lile the gremlins one
This review is so funny. I love it!
5:51 "conglaturation" has been a part of my vocabulary ever since I saw that video all those years ago
I found irate gamer before anyone else, used to love exactly these style of videos from him. It’s kinda fucking awesome to see It back to this
Some good work from the Irate Gamer
Loving the flash backs of you trying the game over the years 😅
Stoked!!!
Nice to see you live in Helsinki too nowadays!
Wild, I was just thinking about your Jaws video the other day and I went to youtube to watch it and on my recommended this video pops up. It must be fate
Rofl! Decades of expectations only to be dashed! Quality Irate gamer!
1:13 It took me a triple take to realize that wasn't old footage.
My brain was sure that was some old Irate footage.
Decent episode. I love the flashbacks, I also didn’t know in raiders that that place was a market place
Thanks for the upload
I like this. Simple and too the point.(And short)
I heard Raiders of the Lost Ark for Atari 2600 was the first movie based video game ever. Btw, I can't wait for your temple of doom video
Awesome! Thanks for putting this up on youtube! I would do the pay route if I could but yeah.
Not a bad video. I´m glad you have found your form again.
Not going to lie. Been more excited for and satisfied with new Irate Gamer than I have been with new AVGN for a while and judging by other comments, that is a sentiment that is shared by quite a few others. It's crazy though because in the old days, the perception between the two was completely reversed. Granted, I'm sure some haters linger, but generally people are just nostalgic for that passionate "first generation RUclipsr" energy and you clearly still got it!
The gray shirt during the flashback segment was a nice touch, also! I do wonder if there will be anymore callbacks like that in future episodes. (It shouldn't be overdone, of course, but it'd be nice every once in a while.)
Definitely looking forward to the next one.
Good video. You're awesome. 🙂
Nice to see flashbacks of the Irate Gamer backgrounds from 2007 and 2012.
It's probably a bankswitching issue with that first cartridge. Guessing someone tried to repair it before, since the screw is exposed.
Nice to see you doing a new video Chris. I wish you did more videos more often but I'm sure you're reason for not doing so is understandable. But still good to see you pop up 😊
Nice
This game was actually quite complex for the system. First game I remember that had an inventory and a level over a level. The map room (that little room where you said "What is this supposed to be?") is only revealed if you have the key selected, and standing there in the center with the matching inventory item, you waited for the sun to rise in the black square above. And you don't whip onto the tree branch when you're falling, you deploy the parachute and slide down the branch into the cave. I think one guy was the game dev.
Glad you started a Patreon Page Chris. Hopefully this means you will cover more games with the extra income from it.
More soon!
Great start to this trilogy. I remember as a kid playing this game at my cousin's house when he had an old Atari system, it's where I also first experienced the infamous "E.T." game. I never beat that game, but I wasn't exactly the brightest game player back then. lol
Also nice to see the old room again for the 2007 and 2012 flashbacks, as well as the 2020 set. Will be looking forward to your re-visit of "Temple of Doom" on the NES.
Love it, thanx dude. Glad you're still raiding tombs to dig up this old ass game. :3
😂 love the video Chris
To be honest, I think this game on Atari is actually decent for the time especially when I’m a big Indiana Jones fan lol🤠👍
Awesome 😎
Alright! He's gonna revisit Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in the next episode! Awesome!
It didn't take me that long to figure out how to start the game. After I got the game, it took me some time to figure out that you have to plug the controller into the 2nd port to start the game and move Indy around. It's even more of a pain in the butt that you need 2 controllers for this game. Yeah, it's weird that this is another game where the controllers are swapped. Air-Sea Battle is the same way, so are Basketball, Surround, and Slot Machine.
But the manual DOES tell you where and how to use the grenade. It's on page 15 bottom paragraph under the "helpful hints". It's the second hint.
Man watching this takes back to 06 when Irate Gamer was the most hated youtube guy but I would watch him, AVGN, and Nostalgia Critic. They were my first 3 youtube guys I would watch.
Lol. Ahh the memories
looks like the paid subscription pay wall didn't quit work out so well..
Yep, I remember playing this game back in the early 1980's. And having about the same amount of luck with it. Never discovered the grenade part. No forums back then to help you out either....
Exactly! Everyone had problems with it
Man surprising this guy is still going 😮
Will you be bringing back your history of video games series at some point as well?
Played the hell out of this game when I was a kid, & still love it. Found out how to enter the black market on my own when I accidentally dropped a money bag while passing the bearded guy. Apparently there's an entrance fee.
chris bores if you are reading i want to see that you are the last good angry reviewer standing and an entire genre on RUclips is in the palm of your hands please never retire the character i love your videos so much
Well thankyou. There are thousands of reviewers on RUclips now though so that statement would be inaccurate unless your just counting the pre-2008 people
Oh my God, i was stuck on that startup screen for the longest time... until someone at school told me the secret. If you didn't have the two button controller (yes, they existed!), you have to plug into the Player 2 port.
How did people ever figure this stuff out without the internet?
Great Video!
6:00 if i squint my eyes a lot, it looks humanoid, like arms, legs a head wearing a kings crown, maybe it is supposed to be a statue.
If it is supposed to be the idol, then it shouldn't be wearing a king crown.
An Irate Gamer episode and the Goofy yell, yep my life is complete lol.
0:47 There a second Raiders of the Ark movie?
Ah yeah!!!
Love the opening! Did you make it yourself?
Yep. Another similar one opens up pt 2
Like with E.T, another Warshaw game, kudos for trying making something ambitious for Atari 2600, having to use two controllers and be able to actually finish the game was not common back then.
I think the screen at 5:58 is supposed to be the map that Indy shines a light on in the movie? But yeah it does look like a convuluted mess.
So It take 17 years to buy a new copy.
There is a bit more you could have uncovered on this one.
I haven't seen the Irate Gamer in over a decade.
Kinda bummed he couldnt beat the game and share more secrets as to what to do on this game.. the game is so cryptic with needing to learn secrets, trial and error and experimentation and exploring...i just wanted feel like im indiana jones as i play the game...
5:00 wow,a video game trick even more obscure and obtuse than ducking in a random location to summon the tornado in Castlevania 2
Miss you Irate Gamer ! I’d be pissed off too if I played this game😂
this is solid
Isn't that supposed to be the "map room " @ 5:58?
I loved this game you have to find the clues just like the movie. The ank tells you where the ark is The parachute is how you get in the hole ect ... it just takes time and thought...
I'd be irate too if I were playing those kinds of games.
👍
From most hated guy on youtube to some guy on youtube.
Video was funny though 👍🏻
Who would have thought that 10 years ago that the The Irate Gamer, a Copy of The Angry Video Nerd would be putting out better content than James and Cinemassacre because I enjoy this far more than any James has done in the last 10 years.
