Nick SKR Yeah true but the point of learning it in medicine is to be able to understand the medical expressions, disease names and their roots which is very helpful when it comes to memorisation,to read medical texts(at some point in ur academic life they’re gonna ask u to read those ancient Latin tests or even if ure into medical research and you want to produce a paper you’ll need it).Its useless in the practical world when ure in contact with your patient though.

Olivia Macagba I think the two types you are referring to are Classical Latin and Vulgar Latin. Classical Latin is the type we are are studying, it was used by politicians, philosophers, poets and other educated Romans. Vulgar Latin was spoken by ordinary people who had no status. It was also the Latin taught to people in the provinces (places conquered by the Roman Empire). Modern Romance languages (French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Portuguese,...) have their origins in Vulgar Latin. Im Romanian, sometimes just reading latin makes me understand the phase or the idea, sometimes its funny cose there are words in there that are considerent arhaic in Romanian, learning Spanish and French help me understand the missing link between Latin-Romanian. Thing is all this Neo-latin languages are not based on classical latin, there based on the vulgar dialectes spoken in the regions. Beeing that Romanian evolved isolated i can grasp most Latin, its just incredible how a language can evolve in 2000 years.

I wonder how far you went with your Latin Language studies. I was listening to some guy talk about how expensive it is for just the basics, and advanced latin is not too many colleges have them out there.

I would probably make one of the first videos about how to pronounce the alphabet in Latin, along with the pronunciation of long and short vowels.
Also maybe if you said “um” less and it also sounds like you are sucking on candy when you talk.
But other than that I liked your video and I’m going to continue with the series.
