I hope your tests come back OK. What a colossal difference there now. About 20 years ago I was in Phnom Penh at a hospital and there were literally rats running about the corridors and the toilets were like cesspits. It was beyond filthy. I left before I saw the consultant. In fact, it was his room a rat ran out of! Needless to say, I ran right after it and out the door!
It was just a precautionary scan that my US Doctor wanted because of my age. Everything came up normal. Thank you for your comment and for watching !!!
man i am so happy to see this. As new to SR... and my head in the sand... i thought the public hispital was all there was. Oh what a relief. Thanks do much.
Yes Kelly. That Royal Angkor Hospital in Siem Reap is the most expensive hospital in the area, unless I am mistaken. I went to that hospital when I was living in Siem Reap in 2017 to see about getting Japanese Encephalitis vaccination. They wanted a crazy amount of money. I can’t remember how much exactly…..only that it was so much that I said “No Thankyou” and left. If you want vaccinations in Cambodia…..much more cost worthy to go to the Pasteur Institute in Phnom Penh. They have vaccinations for just about everything, at very reasonable cost. Namo Buddhaya, 🙏🏼 ☸️ 🌴 🌴 🌴 🦎 🇰🇭 🇨🇦 ✈️
Yikes, they have many different prices for the CT scan. They should have a price list for all medical procedures too …Is it better to pick Royal hospital as your primary care provider?
I don't think so. I like Neak Tep, it is cheaper and if they can't do something, they will negotiate for you at one of the larger hospitals. Thanks for the comment and for watching!!!
Watching your video made me want to go back and live in Cambodia, but I have a few more year to my retirement. But I am planning on going to visit there next year, love to chit chat with you sometime...
It is a great place to live. The last few years before retirement is the longest. Dm me when you get here and we can meet up. I love meeting my subscribers. Have a great day 🤗
Thank you. It was just a precautionary scan my US Doctor wanted but I didn't want to wait in the USA months for it to happen. Thanks for watching the videos !!!
I had CT scan on my legs at Surin Govt. in Thailand about 6 months ago. !8000 baht. Anyone can do the conversion if they want to make a comparison. Excellent video.
Is it true that there are no nursing care for extended stays? I hear that they don't provide food or dressing care and that a friend or relative must bring food and clean clothes or worse bathe you. What if you're single and can't provide these things for yourself?
Yes, it is true. As for a solution to the problem you brought up, make friends, your Apt manager, next door neighbor. I'm not trying to be facetious, but it is a perk to making and having friends, locals or barong. I had a spa owner that messaged me when I was in the emergency room, as soon as she closed, she came to visit me and because it was a private room with two beds, she stayed with me all night while I was in the hospital and brought food. My manager brought me my toiletries and clothes, and a buddy brought me water and fruit. Don't be a hermit. The people here are true and great
@@AutumninAsia I did have a small tumble while enjoying some beverages and I fell off our patio. I brused my ribs really bad and went to Sonja Kill Hospital in Krong Kampot. Very professional, kind and also reasonably priced. X-rays were taken, meds were eaten, all is good now. I did go for a full blood test the other day, I thought it was rather expensive but I know now I'm healthy.
Very informative. Thanks. The thing that`s nice about health care in many places is that it is basically on demand, not waiting to get a Dr. app then getting a referral then waiting months for an app. and on and on it goes.
Thank you very much. I'm ok. It was just a precautionary scan my Doctor wanted back in the US but I didn't want to wait months for it to happen. Have a great day !!!
hi i am from australia and i am thinking of retiering to cambodia do you neeed health insurance also how is the rent cost in siam reap take care love watching your videos
WTF I could fly there and back to get two MRI scans cheaper and wouldn't have to wait 3 months. $1750NZD for one MRI scan 4 years ago. Hopefully your all good chap 👍
Im fine. Just a precautionary scan my USA Doctor wanted but I didn't want to wait months in the US for it. Thank you for your comment and for watching the videos !!!
I couldn't get most of the scans (except x-rays) in Ireland without going private, and even then I'd be waiting months, never mind the cost! I keep hearing about private health insurance, can't afford it here, so I wouldn't be worrying anywhere else either.
CT scans emit lots of radiation. If you want a full body scan I would recommend MRI. Of course In an emergency etc CT is the only option . I'm curious if there is an option for MRI and the cost over there.
I didn't see a cost for a full body scan although what I did see was in the video about different areas for a MRI. About $199US each. Go through a smaller Hospital and you would get a better price even though you will still get it at Royal Hospital. Thanks for your comment !!!
Did they make you go back to the prep hospital to contact the doctor.? Then you went back to Royal Ankor for the CT scan? So even in the hospital, negotiate.
Looks like it may pay to have a holiday there and get the scan done in SR even at the 'stated' price rather than Bangkok Thanks for taking us along on your adventure
Glad it went well, man! You have Crohn's as well, correct? I have Crohn's and am curious about how much the endoscopy we're recommended to get every couple of years is over there. I saw it on that list you were showing but the camera didn't show the price. Thanks
CT in SANTÉ Hospital 200 .- no need for Royal Hospital , where EVERYTHING is more expensive. And no need for any transport between...because Scan in the Hospital there.
@@Driver2724 oh sorry. Yes they do 👍 I would recommend Google Maps search for a pharmacy that is close to where you might stay. Some of them have websites and others will respond to you in English. I know of people that have those ailments and get what they need. They Angkor Thom pharmacy. It is downtown and has good prices for most things. 👍🤗
Hi Kelly I'll be back in Siem reap in early September. What did you end up needing the CT scan for? I guess this video is for Americans as Australian we don't pay anything.
I think if you bring a copy of your passport and say something like "my passport is at the visa office for extension".... it may be enough. why? Because recently at PP airport i was able to collect LIVE animal cargo and import permits with just a copy of my Passport.... which i found very (but pleasnatly) surprising. Because its not nice having to take your pasport out... its about your most valuable item.
Forgot to ask, do you know much about the Japanese friendship sponsored hospital in SR, can foreigners go there and do they do Vaccinations ie rabies, dengue fever, Japanese Encephalitis etc etc?
Sp go to the doctor in SR ask for a cost of the CT (make sure they verify the price) and away you go, not all farangs are rich i dare say most go to Asia to live, as its too expensive in their own country to survive.
Great deal… wish you great health…
Thank you very much. It was just a precautionary scan.
Thank you very much for watching my videos !!!
Stay healthy… wish you well… thanks for sharing… this is rare video regarding health care the SR… appreciate your effort…

pretty sure if you poop the bed for a few days and stink the place someone will have to clean you.
