I had back surgery (discectomy L4-L5) on Oct 13th and thanks to surgeons like you I am FINALLY pain free, and can walk normal again 😁 thanks for all you do and giving our lives back ❤

I didn't realize there was a medical sales college. Based on your last video, I'm a "bread and butter " patient. Had 3 hip surgeries, 1 twice - 11 years apart, and a knee replacement. Recovering from last hip revision surgery. Had metal on metal joint replacement that caused a pseudo tumor, almost destroyed my muscle and bone. No pain from surgery but rehab is hard getting muscle back.

You are such an inspiring person I am a brown indigenous Maori girl from New Zealand I'm not studying to be a neurosurgeon I'm a new nurse but I started watching you a while back and you got me so pumped and excited I am doing the 2 year program to become nurse assistant to the anaesthetist it's a very high paying position no one in my family finished high school but all of my brothers and sisters have every good jobs in trades my father told us there is nothing wrong with working in a job where you get your hands dirty lol and in New Zealand electricians builders mechanics are very well paid and you can avoid high debt it's an apprenticeship style program, I'm not trying to deter anyone but don't underestimate community college if you can't afford college you can always go back to study like this man when you done some earning

Have you ever done posterior lumbar hardware removal? After 18 yr my L3-S1 hardware has to come out. (Age 53j. Had it in so long kind of freaks me out to have it removed. But it’s just below the skin, it’s worn through tissues (especially at L4). Physiatrist who did hardware block said he can feel L4 far too easily (as can Ij. Painful plus with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome skin in a little more delicate. At least it’s far easier than fusion! Hopefully in Dec. (Because I’ve has so many surgeries I’m a medical nerd. 3 lumbar fusions and 4 cervical fusions, TKR, etc).

LOL wild you posted this today! My gran is on the medical obs unit, and my moms cousin is on the ortho unit (he just got knee surgery) and we were arguing today whether a spine surgeon is an ortho surgeon LOL. making her watch this vid~
It can be either or! Some orthopods can do spines as well. Neuro surgeons are also able to do spinal cases

My orthopedic spine surgeon was an attending at the U of Michigan. He was very busy and didn't do silly sh*t like teaching sales reps.. Up to 60 patient clinic days, 2 and 3 hour waits. Residents followed him around. These residents seemed to be under a lot of stress. 2 to 3 months for an initial appointment. He was very in demand, highly respected, referred to for difficult cases.
