Hope you enjoyed this video. I forgot to mention that my average power for the hour race was 283W and my average HR was 184 (I weigh around 55kg). You can look at my race on strava here - www.strava.com/activities/2020545077
The things, could you use this data for something? I mean... power data from a CX race is not determine... it depends where you where riding... imaging another rider going by the correct "mud path", he will be faster...
Yeah that's is true, for a muddier race the power numbers may not show the actual effort as well but there would still be heart rate that would show it I think. This race was a good time to use the data as it shows the effort well.
How tall are you man?
About 175cm
@@NathanTeskey he is really thin!! haha
Amazing VLOG and what a fantastic race you rode on such an awesome course. You were on fire !!! Impressive numbers around 700W peaks, taking hurdles at 27 km/h and absolutely smashing it. Very interesting to see these stats including great analysis. Love your VLOG output these days 😉
Thanks Dave!
I've not raced Scottish cyclocross for a few seasons but your VLOGS might just tempt me back. Mo Cross course looks like one of the best I've seen in Scotland. Thanks for showing us.
Great video and race with expert commentary. Keep them coming Cameron.
Awesome performance great video the editing was superb.
Congratulations on your result.A great video! A great circuit.Only thing missing were 25K plus screaming Belgian supporters!!!
you can really appreciate a club with a lot of creativity in course layouts
Looks fun
Another great video Cameron. It's funny, I missed you when there were a few days without videos during the mid season lull. I really like the on board camera. I was listening to an interview with Stephen Hyde recently and hearing him talk about his expectations for racing in Belgium gave me perspective on just how hard the competition there is. He is again for 2018 the Men's National Champ in the US, and is just hoping to come over for some races and finish middle of the field in the second half of the season. Which is where you have been placing in the elites and much higher U23. This really shows how much you are kicking ass. If you ever want to come out to Colorado and ride Valmont or do some altitude training, you and your Dad (and/or a couple of buddies) have a place to base out of!
Hi Jill. Thank you so much for the kind words. I gave never actually been to the US but Colorado is at the top of my list I think
Great effort , licking the stats and the on bike footage. Keep it going
Mega well done you smassassshed this race. Good filming and thanks for the data 👍
Wow, this is by far your best video yet, I loved the insight from your power meter and the voice over. Congrats on the win!
That course looked amazing!
Oh damn dude - THAT is how you dominate a course!
That is some sick power output Brah! Nice stats and analyze...awesome!
Glückwunsch aus Deutschland ...coole Leistung :)
Congratulations this brilliant win! Great vlog, really enjoyed the onboard camera and the comments. Your numbers are simply amazing. Hope you will collect more silverware during the rest of the CX season.
Great video and great course...would love to ride there one day, looks like a lot of fun....and impressive power numbers for your weight, reminds me I have some work to do ;)
Great video cameron, super on bike footage and your talk-over is good to listen too .
Congrats in this well deserved victory!
It was nice getting lapped from you lol
Hon Cam 👍💪 keep up the good work, hopefully I'll get to see you one day👌
Congratulations for your video, work and of course for the victory, beautifull race, will see you in the rest of seasson!!.
Great to see some on board footage. Crazy seeing the poor lines I'd taken when looking at this footage and the pace. Really adding to your brand and to Scottish CX scene in general. Nice one. Would like to see some more tips for riders on the specific course features, not just in general but relating to the courses we ride each year (e.g. the large drop at battle of the bing that I'll likely slide down on my arse for fear of falling).
That course looked incredibly lovely! And I'm thoroughly impressed by the numbers but more intrigued by your narration. Super interesting to hear your thinking and strategies on how to attack what part of the course. Oh, and congratulations, of course!
Great work Cameron, that course looked lika a lot of fun !!
Quality ride on a quality course it must have been enjoyable well done 👍
Great video and intersteng stats! Congrats with the victory. Even MvdP didn't had such a gap at the finish line.
Congratulation for your win !!!
Well done, quality win, great video and good commentary. Really interesting to get your thoughts on the race.
That was amazing, so well done Cameron!
Straight smashed it! Great job on the win
Amazing video. Great commentary
Really enjoyed the power overlay, really well done on the result!
That's a great video, Cameron - really interesting, keep 'em coming - great victory on Sunday, well deserved, see you back next year for MoX2! :)
Enhorabuena, Cameron!!! Buen trabajo. Por cierto, me encantan los vídeos "on board", con los datos de potencia y velocidad. Muy buen vídeo y muy buen resultado. Enhorabuena!!! 👌💪🚵♀️
Nice video! congrats with your victory!
Superb bud well done course looked excellent
Congratulations mate!!!! I hope you are going to do that in Belgium to aye!😀
no one in front of you during the race. Fantastic job.
It's really interesting to see the speed, heartrate and the speed 👍
Good job 👍 the course looked great
Congrats!!!
Gongrats! Great vid and such a nice course as well :-)
Genuinely forgot this was on until the morning of it and I was cleaning out my Uni flat, I only live a 35minute* train ride away as well
*or 4 hrs according to Scotrail.
Great job! Enjoying checking out your video's having decided to take up CX racing for the winter. Coming from road/crit it's a very different style effort. 283w@55kg is pretty serious!
Ah cool. Yeah CX in the winter is great way to stay fit and have fun, thanks!
nice win!
I love you new mode video
Looked a fun course to ride 👍
Hi Cameron. My question is regarding warming up. In layman's terms, can you tell me how important you feel it is and what difference warming up properly on the rollers makes in comparison to if you just went straight out to race after maybe just doing a few sighting laps approx an hour before the race? Because that's all I ever do. I go to the start line then pretty much ... cooled down.
Can I suggest a great video would be pit crew based. here is very little out there covering this aspect. Technique for quickly cleaning the bike etc.
That would be cool
Pit crew vid would be great. It might be that Cameron beat you to the bike cleaning vid. ;)
Amazing race. Are u planning to do any other Scottish races this season
I don't have any planned yet
Good race 💪
Really super
POWEEEEEEER
Ever fancy going single speed Cammy 😬😬
congratulation
continuous what you do, It's awesome
So this is basically Van der Poel every race haha
many congratulations! I have a question for you: do you perhaps have a solution on how to prevent your glasses from becoming hazy due to your effort. I do not know if this is good spelling, because I am from the Netherlands. I would love it if you post a comment.
Thanks. I think you just have to make sure that the lense is as clean as possible so that the moisture cannot build up and make them hazy. P.s your spelling is great!
I'm not quite sure if you understand what I mean. when I use my glasses (I have the same model as you) and stop cycling, especially when it is cold my glasses are blurred. and I see nothing more. or do you always have that?
Yeah I get that. I am not sure if there is a way to fix that. There are maybe some coatings out there to stop it
Okay, thank you very much!
Thijmen Smulders coat the glasses with dishwashing liquid. An ice hockey player trick. I use it for cycling and x-country skiing
Salut Cameron je suis dans la catégorie cadet VTT et je souhaite savoir si tu a des conseilles à me donner sur les entraînements merci 😉
Nice video ! But whats inside that bag?
Thanks. If you are talking about my big kit bag it just has a load of clothes and spare kit
Dude how tall are you?
👍👍👍👍👍
Lapped all but 5 competitors!!! Isn't the 80% rule applied in Scotland?
This wasn't a UCI race so there was no 80% rule
Do they pick & choose the rules they want to apply? Can you ride bigger than 33mm tyres too? The rules of Cyclo Cross apply to all races. The 80% rule was introduced because riders were getting impeded ( accidentally or on purpose ) by competitors team mates or countrymen in race finishes
At UCI races the 80% rule is mandatory
High power numbers. Your watts/kg must be intimidating.
