Without a doubt this is the the most realistic method I've come across. I learned the nigh-perfect Canyon Creek method for creating ultra realistic pines, and this actually produced better results. Well done.
Congratulations you win. I have viewed 50+ vids how to make pines and you sir have the best looking of the bunch. thank you very much for sharing your craft.
Astounding! This is not a model, this is art! Your video is inscrutable, the pace is perfect, transitions flawless, completely inclusive information, all products identified with voice-over and text. Only thing I would have liked to have seen is a 360 in natural sunlight. Inspirational! Thank you.
So happy you're back! I like your scenery the best over all. In most cases it has the most natural look. I would love to see a meadow type set up with flowers and tall grasses.
Man... I was thinking of doing a volcanic basing/diorama for my next army, but... after seeing this, I might have to do an evergreen forest instead. This is gorgeous work.
Excellent resource demonstration for my layout intent. I’m working on a modest size of the highest level of authenticity. Logging in the deep woods in the early 1900’s. Many thanks.
Came across your channel a couple of days ago and have learned so much already! You Sir deserve many more subscribers. Please keep the videos coming :-)
Another fantastic video on a great looking build. You have the best videos easy to follow and you explain each step so well, and in such a laid back way. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
I haven’t seen this video lol. It’s pretty recent. I’ve been waiting for you to make another video I love your work. I’m the one that requested the desert haha. Watching your content is so entertaining. You are truly a talented person.
If building Dioramas were a Oympic Discipline, the Gold Medal would not be a adequate Award for this!! You deserve the GOD Medal! Your Work ist awesome and very inspirating. Please keep on creating this Art!
I've have said it one´s before, now I will say it again ... "I am speechless and I can barely breathe... Danm ... what a cool piece of terrain, really really good work" your attention to detail is so unique and extraordinary that we all have to kneel humbly for you ... Many many thanks for showing and please keep up the good work ... ;-))
Man totally incredible,I will have to use the screen with the colors on it and use my airbrush to try that trick making my trees Thank use very much sharing your tips and tricks
Still amazed by your work... It looks so real... And also, your videos are mesmerizing. Great idea to give the references of the used materials (and the shops) alongside the tutos.
Long time no see Paepercuts.Yet another wonderfull pice of work you made and it could make some prety good forest or dinosaur diorama if I do say so my self.
The point is that the glycerine replaces the water, the water evaporates. It won't mold unless there is still water in the leaves when you spraypaint them, give them a few days to dry first. The leaves will yellow but that is where the spraypaint comes in. It takes some experimenting but the results are well worth it imo, the same batch of trees still stands today in my cabinet. Cheers and have fun!
Very Nice video. I use Asparagus Ferns as well for my military diorama. Nothing beats that to simulate pine trees. I find it funny those who cut foam that's probably more expensive than the plant itself. And the regroth rate if well nourished is a fast healing fern. I was wondering why do you use TS propellant cans instead of your airbrush to modulate the colors of your ferns. Can cost vs 17ml Vallejo or AMMO or Tamiya acrylic bottles??? Can you clarify on this please??
Good question, i did a lot of experimenting before i decided to go with this method. When the plants come out of the glycerin, they are slightly oily and have a waxed feel to them. I decided to go with spraycans because this has a much better grip and really bites into the surface, as opposed to acrylics. It also strengthens the leaves much better. I often go over the surface with the airbrush to shade them, but only after i added a layer of spraypaint. It acts as a buffer for the acrylics to attach onto. I have done it a few times with acrylic ink straight over the preserved plants, but i found they dry out more and change color/ yellow more over the course of months, depending on warm weather. I use Tamiya because i was unable to find a solid Matt color spraypaint in cheap brands in my country, all of them were gloss green for some reason. Hope that helps good luck with your dio's, cheers!
Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful talents I have built a miniature bird house that needs exactly one of your realistic Douglas fir tree You are definitely a true artist I wonder if I could purchase a few trees from you ? I am in Portland Oregon Thank you very much
Thanks so much happy to hear that! I unfortunately can't help with your request, the problem is US customs won't accept these natural materials because they consider it flammable material and possibly invasive species. Thanks for watching cheers!
Good to note - this plant also goes by the name plumosa, and is very common as a cut greenery! Should be easy to find from any florist, and is usually relatively cheap and comes in large bunches. :)
The most realistic trees I have seen in over 50 years of modelling.Truly stunning.
Thats because they are basically real trees. Everything they are made with is real plant lol.
Without a doubt this is the the most realistic method I've come across. I learned the nigh-perfect Canyon Creek method for creating ultra realistic pines, and this actually produced better results. Well done.

Thanks great to hear that. I probably decided to cut most of that footage out since it's pretty Treedious ( Badum Tsjjjj ) Cheers.
Does the absorbed glycerin help keep it from molding? Or will it eventually yellow and mold? Thank you for the wonderful video!!!!!
