  • After nearly five years in development my HO scale model of the Hershey chocolate factory in Smiths Falls is finally complete. This project has taken longer than expected but I wanted to get it done right the first time. Trains will finally be able to drop off and pick up boxcars at the plant which should make for some exciting switching operations in the future!

    Dude, the factory is brilliantly done! Its is fantastic! And just as great is the mini documentary you made. As I said before you have a very present speaking voice with no stutters and a great cadence. The research you did for it digging up the archival film is wonderful. But you know what was just as impressive, your selection of the period music! 1963's "Rythum of the Rain" by The Cascades (I Shazamed it). It fits the film and the era it supposed to evoke perfectly. No surprise since it was one of the fairly new songs playing on the radio at the time (released in the US November 1962, in the UK January 1963). Great choice.
    I hope you will do another project (although not as big) soon but just as desirable more documentaries! Say about 10 or 15 minutes long usually?😊

    • @SMTMainline
      @SMTMainline  Год назад +3

      Thanks a bunch! It took a while to find the best song but "Rythum of the Rain" seemed correct due to the fact it was released the same year. I have plans for a slightly smaller project in the works - the now abandoned "Forest Fair Mall" in Cincinnati. The story behind that place is wild and I'd love to share it. It will probably begin in 2024

      Is that what it was?
      I thought the song was a version of "Rhythm of the Rain" by the Cascades with the vocals muted.

Nice to see a young man like yourself committing to a project and following through with it till the end.The detail and time spent shows your commitment. As we get older, it becomes harder , with life's other commitments. You may find yourself not having the time you have now, and that's fine. That's life. Their gamble did not go well at first as the chocolate Wonka Bar was considered a commercial flop. I'm sure true Hershey fans cringed a little bit when they heard the intro. Great modeling effort.
