I just picked up the P1S with AMS as my first printer and it just arrived yesterday, so today is setup and figure it all out day lol since I have no experience with this specifically. I have done other things sort of in the same realm, although not extrusion, but from what I've seen itll be no problem with Bambu!
@ZeusKingOfAllGods its worked out great and hasn't had any issues. Only a couple failed prints, but I believe that was the plan. I only got the enclosure, so later down the road I could do ABS or whatever, the enclosure is required for higher temp materials so I figured just get it now. I've heard alot of people say to get the A1 and its basically a P1S without the enclosure, they are different machines and work a little differently but you get the point lol. The A1 is cheap enough that you could get it and if you really liked 3d printing and wanted to go deeper then you could get the better one, plus having more than one printer really isn't a problem lol especially if you're looking to sell prints. That's just my 2 cents, and I dont think you can go wrong with a Bambu Lab printer of any kind lol, as long as it will do what you want.
I would be interested to know if the closed P1S is less dangerous to health? If the P1S uses a fan to exhaust the air from the enclosure and doesn't do it through a HEPA filter, I don't think there is much point in printing in an enclosure. I mean from a health point of view. I'd have the printer in a room, so the VOC fumes problem worries me a bit. The A1 is open, so has no protection.
Personally, im buying the P1S as my printer as i deem it more reliable. Im starting production of small items to sell on etsy, whilst further into my learning experience, printing things in ABS for my car as i'm buying my first car soon, so will be good for little mods. I personally think, spend the extra £280 whilst its on discount (making it basically the same price as the A1 normally) getting a cleaner looking printer & AMS system thats future proof. And yes, the printer is "safer" as it has an included carbon air filter, though i believe you need to over time replace the pelets or something, i'll check when i receive the printer. Also has better air circulation into the chamber, bringing fresh air in, enhancing the cooling.
I'm not seeing anything on Quality increase except youand I'm trying to see if its worth it for a P1S. I'm deciding between A1 (Not Mini) or P1S. I'm wondering if the price increase is justified as I'm on a budget.
What did you end up doing? Are you talking about the combo for the P1S? I'm looking to get either the A1(regular size) or the P1S. I want the P1S but, even though we can definitely afford it, I'm pretty sure my wife would choke me.
@@ZeusKingOfAllGods A1 mini combo brother, best decision in my opinion due to noise levels as well (which most fail to mention) since the P1S sounds like a Boeing 737 taking off 😅
If the A1 had an enclosure it'd literally be the perfect little printer xD I think P1S is a better investment long term and leaning towards that. Though I really love the touch display screen on the A1. Dammit, haaha
@@daandebanaan8902 Well you can mount an hardened steel nozzle but for those materials an enclosure Is recommended. So you can definetly try It but bambu tells you you cannot
@@marcomanelli9099 Neither PLA nor PETG require an enclosure to print. Nor does Bambu Lab specifically recommend an enclosure to print them. Adding carbon fiber to the filament does not change that. However, as you note, you will want to install the optional hardened steel nozzle to print any CF or GF filled filaments on the A1 Mini since the material is more abrasive and will wear out the stock stainless nozzle more quickly
I chose P1S w/ hardened steel extruder gears and nozzle cause filled nylons and I feel like it’s 9/10 of the X1C. I do wish they had a path to upgrade the main board to the unit the X1C uses… I figure eventually a third party may make a main board option for it

It’s nice to meet you! It’s a fun journey!
@3DPrintDood no doubt about that 👍
How has it been for you? I'm looking to get the same. Not sure if I should go with the A1 combo or get the P1S and get the AMS later.

I just got a a1 mini I love it I’m obsessed with fidgets this is perfect for me but i think I might get a a1 or p1s
Good choice! Thanks for checking out the videos! Whats your favorite latest print?
Can you compare the P1s vs the larger A1?
That'd be dope!
Right now I’m printing a spider I saw you use. my favorite print is my dragon fidget

I just bought the p1s now I’m wondering if I can return it and get the combo set instead
Which combo do you speak of?

I have the A1 is the p1s as good or better ? Love the A1 not mini 😊
Have you printed anything for the fish? I have tried but everything floats
Yeah same here… I think it has to be super bulky to sink

A1 (big brother of the mini) also can print pla-cf or petg-cf that can be also used as engineering functional tools (correct me if I’m wrong)
Doesn't the A1 have the same printhead as the A1 mini?
